But we did discuss perhaps occupational therapy to help her with feeding for future development. So we booked a few feeding OT sessions with Nadia and my daughter was in love with her from day 1. She was kind, patient and instantly connected with our daughter in trying to pin point the best way to encourage her to open up on how she interacts with food. Would highly recommend.

On recommendation of our dentist, we tried some videos to help him with speech, but we were not successful on our own. After a Zoom call with Ariel and Ahmad, the speech therapist, we felt very confident and comfortable with Fairfax Pediatric Therapy. After the first session, my son made huge strides in his "sh" sounds - he was actually able to articulate it correctly, even if it was a struggle. Long story short, as of today (3 months after starting) Finn has met all of his speech goals and no longer needs the services. Both Ahmad and Finn worked hard to make this happen - and in such a short time. I didn't expect progress so fast, to be honest. Not only that - my kiddo actually looked forward to the sessions. Ahmad took the time to get to know his interests - chess and strategy games - and built the sessions around play. When we left today, for the last time, Finn said he was going to miss his friend. Although the DC/MD/VA area is saturated with occupational and speech therapists, ECC stands above all others. Our son not only receives quality services from a therapist trained in dealing with young children through adolescents, but ECC's selection of these therapists is incomparable. ECC's therapists are not only up to date in the latest proven methods but are all caring, compassionate individuals who invest in your child. The benefits our son receives through ECC extend far beyond OT services. He's built a relationship with his OT which motivates and inspires him as a person. Our family is truly blessed to have found ECC.

Most of the therapists are doing their followership or find a better opportunity and leave. Our child has had 4 new speech therapists in one year. Most of the therapists at Ivy Rehab stick around 4-6 months before leaving. The therapists are actually highly motivated and involved in the sessions. Unfortunately, the consistency is not there at Ivy Rehab. Our child starts building rapport with a therapist only for them to leave. Scheduling is also a nightmare there. You have to call multiple times to get appointments as they're booked solid in the afternoons after 3pm. The front desk staff isn't great. Amil is quite easy to talk to and schedule appointments. On the other hand, Latonya is rude and always has an attitude that you can hear in her tone of voice.

Monica gave him a thorough evaluation, and afterwards, clearly explained everything she put into her written eval, and patiently answered all our questions. He's now seeing a SLP and an OT at The Speech Space, and is making wonderful progress, being able to communicate with signs as he's working on being able to speak. He's working with Maggie for speech, and Carly for OT, and loves to see them every time.

She is so fun and positive, and the love that she has for him and the joy that she takes from seeing him succeed is incredible. She has helped him with his reading comprehension, his conversation skills, and his ability to verbalize his thoughts more clearly. She tailors her lessons to his needs and his favorite things, using Minecraft and Super Mario timers and videos for short breaks to incentivize him. Alex and Pooja are brilliant and caring; I can't recommend them enough.

My son has been attending speech therapy for about a month now, and he has made more progress with his speech problems in the past month than he has in the two years prior, while attending a county speech program. My sons areas of concern are a phonological disorder, language disorder, and motor planning issues/borderline childhood apraxia. Pooja and Katie are outstanding...they are extremely knowledgeable, passionate about what they do, and are extremely gifted with kids. If you are on the fence about whether to pursue private speech therapy, PLEASE do it! I promise you will not be disappointed!
