Within one hour of a late night online request for help (for our 92 year old father) from various agencies, a personal response (rather than computer generated) came in from Jim Lindsey (President/CEO) who suggested connecting by the phone the following day; that conversation the next day was the second huge encouragement for us as we sensed genuine interest, empathy, concern and understanding of our situation. He set up an initial home visit assessment/evaluation, and this turned out to be a wonderful experience because there was no sense of feeling rushed or pressed. In addition, everything was clear and transparent. Afterwards, we had some weeks before our need for in-home care, but we could call ACC at any point before services to have additional questions answered or to update needs or changes. From speaking to various team members, it was clear that this company worked as a respectful and well-coordinated "family". Our close-knit family is very involved in the care of our 92-year-old father, who has a good number of chronic conditions and medical/health issues that need to be understood in order to care for him properly. Complete and careful body care/hygiene, good nutrition and prevention of illness or other conditions were important for us in our short-term need for services, but much more of our concern was our father's mental health and sense of feeling secure and understood by someone outside of the home. Our mother, 88, who did not herself need physical services, nonetheless, needed someone who could reassure her and who would be sensitive emotionally to both of them, in addition to doing things she could not do for my father that required special skills. From the first time we met Fatmata, the certified nursing assistant assigned by ACC, we were immediately impressed and reassured. She was a perfect fit for us, and my mother shared that it was like having one of her daughters around. We are four sisters and one brother who provide care for our parents. In other words, the caregiver needed to fill in for over a week and take care of a man who was under the observation and love of many family members. In ACC's complimentary hour of orientation/training, the daughter, who is a nurse, was impressed by Fatmata's manner as she was exceptionally intuitive, observant, and attentive with a high level of sensitivity and compassion. Although there was some initial adjustment for my father because he was missing his regular daily caregivers, after a couple of days, he was genuinely thanking Fatmata for her help. We are deeply grateful for Adult Companion Care and their dedication, personal care, and willingness to work with us to find the best support for our father so that he could remain comfortable and safe at home. The schedulers are incredibly patient, kind, and HONEST about what they can and can't do, which was such a big change. They also have some truly world class caregivers. There were some bad ones too, but in the end there were two people (Queen and Libby) who were simply incredible and were such a blessing to have caring for Mom. They have a relatively small pool of staff who can do lifting / transferring, but the ones they have are mostly good. They definitely tried to match our needs with their people, and as we provided feedback the matches got much better. They didn't have enough staff to provide full 24/7 care but worked with me as I filled the gaps with private folks. When they saw a snowstorm coming they would plan to have someone stay there for 2-3 days to prevent caregivers from not showing up due to bad road conditions. I have to subtract one star just for some of the bad caregiver experiences, and because billing turned out to be a bigger hassle with them than with other companies, but if I had to recommend a home care company in the DC area to someone else, it would without question be this one.

The office staff does not communicate well. We are also concerned with billing. We did not receive the invoices, when asked for them we received three invoices that have been paid via our credit card. However, there are many discrepancies and over billing. They will not provide the necessary information needed for you to be reimbursed. Their staff will leave you during doctors office visits, trips to the hospital, etc.

From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed into a clean, comfortable, and supportive environment with a genuinely caring team. Andy and Danny are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. They truly listen--something that means so much when you're dealing with chronic pain and multiple health challenges. I've been treated for back and neck stenosis, knee issues from a torn meniscus, and ongoing pain, and they have been patient, thoughtful, and determined every step of the way. What really stands out is how much they care about your progress. They take the time to tailor exercises specifically to your needs and clearly explain how to do them at home, which has made a huge difference in my recovery. Their combination of hands-on therapy and targeted exercises has helped improve my mobility, balance, and strength--and most importantly, reduced my pain so I can finally rest better. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and incredibly professional. There's a strong sense that everyone is invested in helping you achieve your goals. I was referred from my doctor to go to Solutions PT because of a sports injury that made me lose…read moremost of my mobility on my shoulder. I had an initial consultation with Natalie, who was fairly new to the establishment at the time. Natalie is extremely knowledgeable, motivated, and approachable when it comes to this practice. She measured my range of motion and checked my strength and saw that both were very limited. I ended up going to PT twice a week and worked with Natalie during the first half of every session, and then the second half would mostly be done with those who assist with the actual exercises. Natalie's soft tissue work is incredible- don't let her petite frame fool you! She is a boss when it comes to making your muscles cry and then feel much better during the week. She's always considerate and asks if anything is painful and if so, she's always quick to dial her strength back! I've also worked with Anthony and Kyler. Both have been such a joy to work with- they really keep the operation going and are great at demonstrating each of the exercises. They are not only knowledgeable, they are approachable, and have great senses of humor. Today was my last session after a few months of PT. I will say, as a patient, you should always be consistent with the exercises you are given. I felt like I improved immensely in a short amount of time, but I also tried to dedicate 30 minutes to an hour each day to do all the exercises I was given by Natalie. That's another thing to note- Natalie is continuously researching and learning new exercises and will have you try them. She's very dynamic in her methodology when creating an exercise plan for you, so nothing stays stagnant. While I'm so happy that I have full range of motion back, I am so sad to be leaving Solutions. I'm going to miss Natalie, and the team very much. I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone who has any discomfort or pain. There are so many PTs here to choose from and each have their own flair when interacting with patients. I couldn't be happier to have had Natalie as my PT. TERRIBLE customer service and SCARY night nurse!…read more Zero communications from management--I had to chase them down with several emails in order to just get the names of the nurses that were assigned to me. I guess they think that people are ok with random strangers showing up at their home. The day nurse was really nice, but the night nurse was AWFUL. She had fallen asleep on my couch and when I woke up in the middle of the night because of the pain I was in, she was so upset that I had woken her up. I felt I had to tiptoe around my own home just so I wouldn't disturb her. She complained that she didn't have anything to do and when I said she could leave early since she didn't want to be there, she insisted she stay anyway, just so she could get paid to sit around, complain, and be a bully. STAY AWAY!!!!
