The kind sales person, Abbey, listened to the color scheme we had for the party, walked me through flowers they had available and the ribbon and accents that matched, and it turned out lovely! This was my first time shopping at this location and will only return as a last resort. When…read morewalking in, an employee was at the service desk to the left and another at the registers to the right, and the rest were circled around each other talking about non-work related topics in the middle of a center walkway. While looking at the printer section for ink, one of the employees gave me a side-eye look and said "can I help you find something" in a snarky, arrogant tone. After being told the ink was up by the registers, they were silent until I left the area. The employee who helped me find the ink I needed found exactly which one was compatible and we went to the register and I purchased the product. The reason for 2 stars is because no one was greeting (or up front in the area to greet), the employees on the floor were all talking together instead of working, and the woman's tone of voice was unnecessary when she told me where to locate a product. I did not want to give a 1 star because the woman who helped me find which ink was compatibility with my printer was beyond helpful and respectful.

The store, as usual, had what I was seeking (this time a USB A& B Port Cable). The store rep named Cheri was friendly and courteous as we engaged in conversation during checkout. It's wild to me that I am here writing a review about a bad experience from 10 months ago that I…read morethought was handled, but has actually come back to haunt me. In June of 2023 I called a contacted Acme through Yelp because I had filled out a "project" request. The request was to unlock a residential doorknob of a basement for a property that I managed. I spoke with Acme on the phone to set up a time for them to come out, at which time they gave me a quote for changing the lock. When the person arrived to change it (Mike), he was unable to get the lock opened and said it would have to be completely removed and replaced with a new lock (after, we were able to contact another locksmith who came out and successfully unlocked the doorknob). This was going to take the visit up to over $300 if they provided a lock. I consulted with the person I managed the property for and they wanted me to buy a lock instead of the using one Acme offered due to the price and inability to complete the job. When I informed Mike of this, he became very short and irritated, asking how long it was going to take, and was very inflexible. I once again consulted with the property manager, and due to the unprofessionalism of Mike, and how much the cost had gone up from the initial quote, he decided not to continue the service with Acme. The property owner contacted Acme, who were apologetic, stated we would not have to pay for the service, said they were "grateful" that I did not write a review of my experience. Now here we are, 10 months later and this week I receive a call from Acme. They said they were "clearing some files," found my invoice and were going to send it to me. This invoice was a $175 charge for a visit and labor fee. They also charge an additional 3% processing fee for payments after 10 days of the invoice. I was never informed of a trip fee that would be charged prior to the visit, or that it was expected to be cash on delivery of service. This is something I assumed would have been established when they gave me the quote. I can adamantly say I do not recommend Acme for locksmith services. The inflexibility of the person who came out to complete the work, the lack of transparency with the charges prior to the visit, and the fact that 10 months later they are now trying to charge me $175 speaks to the lack of integrity within the company.

A treasure trove of vintage hardware and home goods!…read more This store is a treasure trove of authentic vintage hardware and home accessories. It will have you swearing off Lowe's and Home Depot for your next home upgrade. It's genuinely incredible what they have here: vintage locks, door knobs, drawer pulls, cabinet handles and knobs, lighting accessories, claw feet for tubs, and so much more. I was in restoration heaven. I'm honestly impressed that I only walked away with a few Art Deco handles and a bourbon barrel stave from Pappy Van Winkle. And the prices? Completely reasonable and very competitive for authentic vintage pieces. I'm renting at the moment, but my husband and I are planning to purchase a home next year, and I'm already very much looking forward to revisiting Village Salvage when we do. I can only imagine how dangerous this place is going to be once I actually own a house. The service was also wonderful, and it's worth mentioning that Village Salvage has much more than restoration hardware. They carry handcrafted and locally made furniture that is truly gorgeous. I was also told they take commissions for custom furniture, so if you're looking for a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece that's built to last for generations, this is absolutely where I'd start my search. If you love vintage, restoration, architectural salvage, or just finding things you won't see in every other home store, put Village Salvage on your list. It's absolutely worth a stop in Waynesville.
