He was able to teach me a number of very helpful techniques that meaningfully & measurably reduced my day-to-day anxiety issues, and he also was an intelligent, open-minded thinker who was able to explain WHY the techniques seem to work as well as they do, in a way that I (as an engineer) really appreciated. We did couple's therapy with Todd, and I cannot recommend him enough! My husband and I had kids and were in a difficult period in our lives where we fell into the same patterns of poor communication, resentment, and had the same fights over and over. Todd helped us identify our patterns, reconnect, and build a foundation of love and support that helped us navigate our differences better. We had tried out two other therapists before Todd that weren't a great fit. They mainly just listened, said they "heard us", and asked us questions. Todd, on the other hand, is much more effective. He guided us in practicing connection during each session, he gave us exercises to do during the week, and he helped both of us practice better calming and communication methods. I really liked how he balanced being proactive and also listened and truly understood where we both were coming from. After a year of therapy, we feel like we're in a good place so we're ending our time with him. Over the last few years, many people told me to see a therapist - friends, family, and heck, even my landlady! Apparently everyone's been to therapy and highly recommends the experience. When I turned 30, I was ready to do this thing that everyone does called "have a therapist" (the way you have a dentist, or an opthamologist). Myl husband and I had reached a point where we knew our marriage was at a breaking point and we essentially lived separate lives while parenting our young teen. He finally agreed to "try" therapy, being extremely skeptical but recognizing that we needed to do 'something'. I found Todd through my internet searches, and I really felt comfortable with our interactions through the initial telephone 'interviews'. And while we were willing to travel to his office (about 20 miles but significant traffic in between), the fact he offered sessions through Zoom was plus, and worked really well for us. I will be forever to grateful to Todd for his work with us. With Todd's patience, focus, and guidance, we were able to learn to look each other differently, learn how to not just react, but choose how to interact with each other during stressful situations. He was always fair, and neither of us felt any favoritism or defensiveness with Todd. I learned how to step out of myself and look at how the other person could be feeling and care about them even though I might initially still be angry or frustrated or defensive. I won't say that we don't fall into old patterns, but I will say that we recognize it and come back to make sure the other person is okay. During a recent stressor, I was able to talk to my husband from the aspect of being in a relationship with someone I love, while still realizing that we needed to address the stressor. My partner and I decided that we should give "couples counseling" a try before throwing in the towel on the relationship. We found Todd on Yelp, and weren't sure what to expect. Todd ended up calling us both, at separate times, and talked to us each for an hour as an initial assessment. The first appointment was nerve racking, but Todd makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed and doesn't show "favoritism". We decided to do an intense month of therapy and saw him twice a week. After the first session, my boyfriend and I were already in awe of what tools Todd armed us in to use in battle. Things we had never thought of that could be used to have a more stable, loving relationship. I have to admit, the weeks were intense, lots of tears and emotions and healing. Todd was able to create a safe container for both my partner and I, while employing the EMDR model that is not commonly used but VERY effective. All in all, pretty 100% sure the relationship would have failed if it wasn't the work we did with Todd. So here we are... still together... better than ever, and I am eternally grateful for Todd. Therapy is a lot about finding the right match for you. I've been to a few other therapists where the sessions went nowhere or even left me feeling less resolved than when I came in. What Todd does really well is that he listens to you and is able to help you filter through things until you yourself can easily see steps you need to make and are ready for. Based on this, I'm pretty sure he'd a good match for the vast majority of people. A not so secret technique of his is to repeat back key points of things that you've said that really encompass your problem. It's very powerful to really sit and think about the things that come out of your own mouth without them registering in your brain. More than that, he has an intuitive feel for what you're trying to accomplish and knows when to intervene. With him, you become very involved in your personal growth and the movement forward quickly becomes exponential. I don't see Todd anymore, but he'd be my first choice if I went through a big life change because his perspective is original and will help put you at peace with whatever comes your way. I continue to recommend him to any friends mentioning they're looking for a therapist. I'd recommend him to a total stranger just the same, because I know that he'll help that person become better and make the world a bit more happy. read more

When my father passed away last year, I was going through severe grief and was diagnosed with Traumatic Grief, PTSD, and depersonalization. I was in a lot of emotional pain.
