They kept telling us that our children needed a special toothpaste to remineralize their teeth to avoid cavities, but every 6 months they needed multiple fillings, sometimes multiple sides on a tooth. One child had so many fillings (10-12 teeth) that I finally called to check which teeth had gotten done before. Some teeth had been done more than once, but they told me they were different spots on the same tooth. My youngest was leaving for college last year and yet again they told us he had 3 teeth with cavities, but they could "squeeze" him in right then. That way he could be done before he left for college. We took care of them. Those three teeth were $1042. Fast forward, he returns from college, goes for his cleaning and now he has 3 more teeth with cavities at an estimated cost o $975. He was home for summer, so they scheduled him for a while later. Luckily for us, we moved and found another dentist near our new home. We forwarded his records to the new dentist and scheduled an appointmemt to take care of the 3 teeth that had multiple cavities. My son went to the appointment and came home in less than 30 minutes. The dentist looked at his X-rays, took new ones and said they did not see any cavities! In fact they looked at the cavities that had been filled PREVIOUSLY on the X-rays and said they would not have filled most of them. They showed him and me what to look for on an X-ray, so we could see for ourselves. Going to Restoration Dental cost us thousands of dollars in unnecessary fillings. Nevermind the trauma that my children had to endure with getting shots and further tooth damage for the unnecessary drilling that was done to "clean out" nonexisting cavities. Now my children have the good fortune of looking forwards to possibly having these unnecessary fillings weaken their teeth over time and potentially cause broken teeth, more painful procedures and bigger bills as they get older. I have attached a copy of the last estimate for my son (look how many more teeth they were "watching"). LET ME REPEAT THAT THE NEW DENTIST DID NOT SEE ONE ISSUE THAT WAS ON THE ESTIMATE, AND LOOKED AT HIS PREVIOUSLY FILLED CAVITIES AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT HAVE FILLED MOST OF THEM. If you choose to go to this dentist, don't trust what they say, have them prove it to you. Btw, I noticed there is another review complaining of the same thing. This practice should refund my money and pay me for damaging my children's teeth. I am trying to see where I can legally report them.

Although the place looks nice and the staff seem nice, don't be deceived. My bf and i walked down and spoke with the front desk about an appt. I gave her my insurance and instructed her to notate in my chart that all services needed to be pre cleared with insurance before appt bc I am legally disabled, on a very limited fixed income, and could not afford anything not covered. At the end of Sept I spoke with the Insurance person, Lura, regarding my coverage. On the phone I also informed her about pre-clearing my services and she told me no problem. At the 1st of the month she ran my insurance and told me I was good to go. To me, this means that she called the insurance company and made sure the preventative services were covered. Otherwise I would've hoped that she'd advise me to find an in-network provider who did cover the care. But she didn't do that. Just a go ahead to come to the appt. Day of appt, I signed the forms, including the financial responsibility forms, under the assumption that I was pre-cleared for my services. Boy was I wrong. I received a $325 bill for services- which is astronomical for someone on a tight budget. When I reached out to Lura I received the exact response that I was expecting-- reference to signing the financial responsibility agreement and that it was my responsibility. How unsympathetic can you be to not even do the proper insurance verification on a patient specifically requesting it for financial reasons, and then surprise billing them. It's just completely dishonest and wrong when the patient is greatly depending on the services to be covered. I highly recommend finding a dentist that works in network. I found others on Yelp with the same exact complaint as I had- being told out of network insurance is accepted and then getting a surprise bill. In order to avoid this- find an in-network provider or pre-pay.

I ended up cancelling my follow up but spoke to my friend and she recommended changing to Jay. Jay is the best dental cleaning I have had. They do not accept DHMO or DMO and they don't confirm your insurance until you check out. There was no intake or let us update your info/ insurance when I walked in which I thought was weird. That is the first thing that I've been asked to do but I unfortunately assumed that I was all good. Typically I have had all medical confirm beforehand so I'm at least aware of the cost. I had to pay $280 for a dental cleaning appointment. When I asked the check out about last year, she said I paid out of pocket as well which was fine. However I paid in full each time and randomly have a $4 charge on my receipt for a starting period of September. I had no appointment in September but I don't know why I was retro charged when I checked out each time. The line item also provides no detail. I would have cancelled the appointment if I had known so I'll be cancelling my future appointments for the year. To me that cost is too much so I won't be returning. I'll be reimbursing myself through HSA for the cost. The front desk, specifically the Caucasian front desk employees, should ask people their name and appointment time. That's front desk etiquette to me and eliminates any assumptions based off skin color, race, or gender. I'm not sure why that's hard but it was giving - I grew up in "whites only" and have not changed. They do offer invisalign but I ended up going somewhere else for a lower payment plan. They only offered 4 payments and I had other financial commitments so I wasn't willing to pay. Cons are the price, paying for parking and communication based on the above.

The staff takes a personal interest not only in my teeth but in my life outside of their office as well. I have never felt pressured to get procedures that are unnecessary, and have even been talked out of optional procedures that I was thinking about. Billing has always been thoughtless, and scheduling a snap. In fact, I have a pretty insane work schedule and I have numerous times called to move appointments around (sometimes several times!), and the staff is always pleasant and happy to do so. Overall I have to highly recommend Dr. Posey and the crew over there. If a dentist in the Buckhead area would be convenient to you, and, honestly, even if it wouldn't, taking your chompers to Dr. Posey's office is going to be worth it. To comment on one of the other reviews, while Dr. Posey may always be searching for cavities... that's kind of the job of a dentist.
