Dr. Berger retired and I called to make an appt with Dr. Johnson a month ago. The receptionist Stephanie is very unorganized, doesn't know what she is doing, and always gives me conflicting information. When I first called she kept telling me what insurance Dr. Johnson doesn't accept and told me that she was going to find out if she can accept my insurance. She never called me back nor had the employee that check the insurance information contact me. She also is always rushing when she answer the phone, and always gives me misinformation then I have to tell her what she initially told me. This is a bad sign of how this dentist office operate and is a clear sign that this dentist office has no structure. Stephanie has no sense of direction when executing her job. I was looking forward to making Dr. Johnson my dentist, but my experience just trying to make a appt has been horrible! read more

Dr Ed has been been my Dentist for 25 of the last 30 years. Good office environment and friendly service. Ed himself is hilarious and puts you at ease. He's bonded a chipped tooth, filled a couple caviities and done many cleanings...so no major work. But he's been great for everything I've needed. read more

New to town and called to try to get rates. Receptionist Tracey was rude and absolutely horrible. Told me she couldn't give me rates over the phone and I said it was important for me to know the cost as it would determine whether I schedule an appointment or not and she proceeded to say to me, "I can't do this.....I can't do this over the phone." She just cost her office business. My fiancé and I would have happily made appointments with them but Tracey (the receptionist) had horrible communication skills and definitely does not care about the clients that come in and out of there. Whoever the boss is should reconsider who they have answering the phones and booking clients and helping out. Maybe somebody that has better customer service skills or just someone who knows how to help others and is friendly and warm. read more

After dentist-hopping all over Atlanta, I cynically concluded that my search for a reputable dentist was in vain. But then one fateful spring day, a coworker recommended her dentist to me: Dr. Edward Berger. This fabulous man has cleaned my teeth twice, proving that he wants to provide honest oral care to his patients--not slap fillings, crowns and bridges on every gullible mouth that walks into his office. Dr. Berger's philosophy is, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." In fact, he is a self-proclaimed undertreater, as opposed to the multitudes of sketchy overtreaters who have flooded the dental industry. My favorite thing about Dr. Berger (other than his disinterest in billing patients thousands of dollars in needless procedures) is his chair-side manner. While he scrapes tartar from my molars, scrubs my bicuspids, sprays saltwater across my incisors and flosses my squeaky-clean teeth, he makes hilarious conversation. --Example of Dr. Berger's Fantastic Sense of Humor-- Me: Do you have children? Dr. Berger: Yes. Me: How many? Dr. Berger: Three. That I know of! The facility is clean and well-decorated as well, walls and rooms adorned with art that Dr. Berger and his wife picked up at art shows. Plus, the cleaning chairs are situated in front of tall windows, offering patients a pleasant outdoor view while they are waiting. My coworker who recommended Dr. Berger has been seeking his dental care for her entire life--and I plan to receive his ethical, high-quality, good-humored services until he retires. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Berger for about three years. Everything from routine cleanings, to a filling, to most recently a crown (thanks, olive pit). He is, without a doubt, the best dentist I have ever visited. 1) His staff is fun and courteous. 2) He never pushes work that you don't need. 3) The practice is small and the patient attention is unmatched. 4) Dr. Berger is a funny guy. I genuinely enjoy his company and, if it weren't weird, would invite the guy to beers after each visit. He is a genuinely nice guy who cares about his patients. And is not afraid to tell the occasional joke, which I appreciate. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but these guys deserve every star Yelp has to give. read more

Dr. Berger and his team are wonderful! He was my first and only Dentist when I moved to Atlanta and I can't imagine going any where else. He came highly recommended by several of my co-workers and I can see why. Now that I have a daughter she goes there as well. They have made her very comfortable. I love that they do not try to sell you on services you don't need. They are interested in your dental health. In fact by following their instructions over the years my overal oral health has been wonderful. I have never recieved anything that was unnecessary...not even a filling that wasn't needed. You can ask as many questions as you like and they will give you an honest answer/opinion. Seriously, if you are looking for a dentist please reach out to Dr. Berger and his team. This is a trustworthy team... I moved a good distance away from his office but still go to him twice a year as scheduled. I found this practice by chance when I first moved here five years ago. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Berger and his staff. Everyone is friendly and professional and I never have to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment. On top of the great care, I find it refreshing that they never try to sell you services that you don't need. I've only visited Dr. Berger once for a routine cleaning but had a really positive experience. His staff are super friendly and do a great job of making the often dreaded visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible. The cleaning I received was incredibly thorough, and the hygienist demonstrated a genuine interest in my oral hygiene and lifestyle habits (i.e., coffee drinking, medications) that could have a long-term impact on the health of my teeth. Dr. Berger is personable and relaxed, and he spent a significant period of time reviewing my records, asking questions and making suggestions. Dr. Berger is the best dentist I've ever been to. He is nice, funny & tells you like it is. That is he's honest & doesn't say you need to have XYZ procedure when all you need is a routine cleaning. His office staff is friendly & very efficient. I think you would be hard pressed to find another dentist of Dr. Berger's caliber in the Atlanta area. I have been going to Dr Berger for over 10 tears and referred over 10+ patients to him also. I have only had x-rays & cleanings from him and his staff but that's all been timely and good. Staff is all very friendly. My only complaint is that you now have to pay for parking and scheduled appointments are often canceled and need to be rescheduled. read more

Dr. Berger was my first dentist in Atlanta, and surely will be the only one as long as I am here. I called his office for an annual check-up appointment, the front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful in giving me different dates for appointment. On the day of my appointment they took good care of me,.. The dental hygienist Ms Kara was very gentle with the cleaning and gave detailed information on what she was seeing. After cleaning, I met Dr Berger and talked to him about the tooth that was bothering me.. He inspected the X-rays and said all the teeth were in good condition and need no work, however it was the gums that needed some attention.... He did recommend some work on gums treatment as they were bothering me...he recommended a gum's specialist for the deep cleaning .... So in general I was pleased with Dr Berger, he was a nice person to talk to and I didn't feel like he was rushing, nor did he sound like a salesman at any point of our discussion... The facility is clean and well maintained, the staff is pleasant and welcoming.... I recommended him to my wife for her dental work... I surely will recommend him to my friends read more

I have been going to Dr Berger and his staff for around 7 years. My previous dentist always seemed to have an extra charge that wasn't covered by my insurance that my husband never had at Dr Berger's office (same insurance), so I switched. Dr Berger's staff are friendly, his hygienist is quick and competent and he is a gem. After years of only cleanings, I finally had to have a chip on my tooth repaired. Most people dread going to the dentist, but Dr. Berger makes getting teeth cleaned or worked on fun. He is diligent, and also not out to do any more work on your teeth than is necessary. Thirteen years ago I made a change to Dr. Berger after having recommendations for costly dental work done by another dentist. After studying my x-rays and teeth, Dr. Berger was great in letting me know that there was nothing wrong with my teeth, and I have been there ever since. After my last visit to a dentist about a year prior, I knew it was time to find someone new. The last dentist I visited wanted to do every procedure under the sun, so I decided to find another one. I'm extremely happy that I found Dr. Berger. Everyone in the office was very courteous and the hygienist was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I didn't need thousands of dollars worth of dental work as my previous dentist had suggested. I believe Dr. Berger has his patients best interest in mind, and only recommends things that need to be done.
