We had the 3 course tasting menu with wine. The service was excellent, very friendly and humble. They were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions (pescatarian, no shellfish, one with an egg allergy) with advance notice. As a complimentary starter, we were served fried cauliflower with a light cheesy breading. First course was risotto with cauliflower rice, topped with two kinds of cauliflower powder (cauliflower and cauliflower leaves) and salmon roe. It was a delicious blend of smoky, cheesy, and salty flavors. Main course was pan-fried perch over pickled beets, topped with a marigold leaf and a few garnishes of kohlrabi. For dessert, a terrarium of chocolate pudding, a light topping of ice cream and chocolate ganache with a few green leaves (sage?) presented in a small mason jar. It was all so delightful! The wine pairings were excellent: a light bubbly, an Italian pinot grigio that was orange in color and very drinkable, and a Chilean dessert wine that had hints of honey. I'd love to come back next time I am in Helsinki.
