Attached to Hotel Torni, O'Malley's is one of my favorite Irish pubs in Helsinki. I hadn't been to the place in a few years before this Thursday night visit, friend in tow. It's definitely less rowdy than the other Irish joints you'll find around the city.
I came expecting a good on tap selection, and was not disappointed -- started with a couple Founders All Day IPAs. The barkeep was super friendly. It didn't take long for our Fish & Chips orders to arrive -- vinegar, lemon, newspaper and all -- at which point we added a few Guinness pints.
O'Malley's used to be *the* place for Fish & Chips in Helsinki. Maybe they still are, but I remembered enjoying the dish more a few years back. Despite the plate changing, it was still tasty and the overall pleasant experience made for a good start to the evening.
I recommend the place and I'll visit again. read more
