I have been going to Bryan (Tuong) for a couple years now for my haircuts. And he is WONDERFUL. I love him; he's really friendly and is so talented at hair styling. He has recently opened up this salon, and I am so glad he did! He definitely deserves success and I'm overjoyed to see him start his own business! This salon provides hair, nails, and facial services! Perfect for girls if you have an event to go to :D Bryan actually has a lot of experience doing salon work (hair and makeup) for models and singers. I love the look of the shop, it's sleek and modern (and this is before they've finished putting in the tiles!) But anyways, onto the staff, all of the other employees were really friendly! Was in the area and needed a haircut and drove by and saw this location. Checked review which h seemed ok and gave it a try to see. Went in for a haircut. Waited for about 20mins which was alright. Haircut was not good at all. No fade at all and he used scissors to cut the entire time. What happens to the razor? All this for $15 !? Definitely not coming back. I would not recommend it. There's definitely better places I've been to that charges $10 or less and you get a better haircut. read more

Just left about 45 minutes ago and had a great experience overall! Phuong cut my hair and followed instructions very well! I came in about 7 and had to wait thirty minutes though because it was so crowded, even for a Sunday night. Aside from the wait, everything else was great. I had my hair washed and dried before the cutting process started. Overall, great salon, very very clean and I'm definitely coming back again, to the same person as well! Usually Asian places always screw up and cut your hair shorter than usual but Phuong was very attentive and made sure to constantly check with me along the way. The store closed at 830 but he stayed after to finish my hair! Definitely come visit. read more

I'm going to give this place a two because for the most part, out of my many visits only one haircut came out like it was supposed to, but the final one was partly why I chose to never come back. Idk what his name was but I should have figured not to be so lenient with who cut my hair because the hair on his head looks like an accident happened. I'm a pretty picky guy when it comes to hair, and paying 20$ (including tip) is no way of an exception whatsoever Anyhow, the haircut was simple, 3 inches on top (planned to grow it into a quiff with moderately lengthy sides) and trimmming the sides emphasized with "don't razor the side." I know he understood it because that's the only thing I said that he didn't need me to translate into Vietnamese. As if his idiocy wasn't inane enough, I had the luxury of him not being capable of retaining 3-4 bits of information or any form of hair cutting ability at all whatsoever. First thing he does is reduce my hair on top to 3 inches, which is just what the doctor ordered, then he proceeds to blend the right side. I absolutely despise that blend, and he just practically butchered my hair within an instant, because not only did he blend it, but he made it practically a nightmare. My top was three inches and the right side was reduced to 1 inch, and no it wasn't a smooth transition either. Any person with a brain can imagine how cancerous my hair looked by that point. But it doesn't stop there folks! He went ahead and RAZORED the sides. Wow and here I thought we had a comedian. What a joke tbh. Poor cutting ability topped off with the inability to listen to orders. I had to wallow upon my tears for the next 2 months waiting for my hair to grow back, since I can't just uncut my hair. To be frank I wish I never paid that last visit, that money could've gone to something that was actually productive other than a barber who is handicapped when it comes to razors and scissors. I'm not making this review for people to avoid this place, if you want to waste your money here then that's your choice, but spend it on the one barber who actually looks like he knows hair, not the guy who seems to have gotten his hair cut by a blender. read more

Don't go there if your not going to leave a big tip. They will fuck ip your hair so you don't go back. Watch out for the female.

If I could give this salon 10 stars I would! I cAme in on a Wednesday afternoon for a hair dye without an appointment. I wanted a grey/blue-ish color. Tuong, the owner, was very nice and he explain thoroughly what is he going to do to my hair. Unlike other hair stylish they only say "yes yes yes" but your hair come out to be a completely different story. Lol. He took his time to re-bleach the orange on my hair!! It's weekend, I was about to see a girl, my friend told me to see Tuong at Toc Salon. What a suprise, the salon is in my neighbor. it was week end and no appointment so waiting was not avoidable. The salon is clean, well organized and friendly. The price is reasonable. Decor is very classy with upbeat music. All personnel seem nice. My hair is hard and thick, there was some people waiting but Tuong really took time to take care of me. He did the whole cut with scissor which was time consuming. I've know Tuong for a while now and I only come to him to have my hair done for any party. I'm very picky on how I want my hair done and I'm glad that I found Tuong. I'm very happy with every style of updos that he'd done for me. I got many many compliments at every party I've been too. Many of my female friends love my hair every time Tuong did it and so I had referred so many friends here already. Perfect place to visit if you want to pay $35 for a simple trim and have your hair roughly tugged on for a long duration. I'm not sure if my stylist was just the bad one of the bunch, but from my experience, I definitely will not be returning. Not only did she seem irritated the entire time helping me out, she failed to follow my length request, after asking her twice. I didn't think a simple walk-in for a trim could even result in an unpleasant experience but this place surely disproved that very quickly. The only up side to this place is that it is spacious and neat looking, but that is all, in my respective opinion. read more

Got a trim here recently. I told them to cut 4 inches but the ended up cutting around 6. I'm not sure the name of the person cutting my hair but it was an older male. I told him I wanted a little bit of a V shape in the back and I could tell that he struggling to make my hair look even. Which is why he kept on having to cut more and more off to try to make it look symmetrical ... -__- If you come here for a trim make sure you tell them exactly how you want it before they start. Goes for $25 a cut which is a decent price. Overall I would probably not come back here. It takes my hair so long to grow :'( read more

Came here with my family, and the lady who cut my hair didnt even do what i asked her to. I cut my hair short last year and ive been trying to grow it out so i told her i wanted same length and i just wanted some bangs in front to frame my face but she said i would have to cut my hair layered in order to do so. I showed her two pictures, one of what i wanted my hair to look like in the front, and one in the back but she neglected everything and cut my hair super short from the start that it was too late for me to say anything. It is so difficult to find a decent stylist among the surplus of hair salons in OC. All I ask for is a simple style with face framing layers and side bangs. Now, it doesn't have to take an hour and a half to get it done. Not sure if he was a rookie stylist or not. But, he kept flat ironing my hair to the point where it had no volume. To top it off, I did not ask to have my hair trimmed 2-3 inches. In the end, I was unhappy and ended up with a mediocre haircut!!! It was not worth the $35 + tip. I WILL NOT BE BACK! :( read more

This is such a hit or miss!! My mom comes in to get her haircut and it looks fairly decent but she has a very short cut (pixie/boy). I came here a few months ago and asked for a trim. It was nothing special, nothing fancy but it costed me $30! The guy who cut my hair didn't even wash it so if he was going to charge me $30 for a very very long TRIM (took nearly 2 hours) then at least put in some styling perks or something afterwards. I wasn't even sure if he was being careful about it and taking his time or he was just wasting my time. However, throughout my session I was watching a guy sitting across from me getting an undercut and it looked really good. I was impressed to the point where I momentarily considered chopping off all of my hair to have the other guy give me an undercut lol. Maybe I'll give this place another chance if I ever become bold enough to get an undercut but for a quick trim- I'd definitely find another salon. TL;DR - Quick trim? For those who personally know me, I'm VERY picky/selective about how my hair gets cut and styled. Hoang is the only stylist that has been up to my standards. From the time you get your hair washed/massaged to the refined execution of the cut; he keeps it professional. KUDOS to him and thank the lord he's no longer working at the pretentious Le Brian Salon. As for the Salon itself, the atmosphere is really relaxed and modern. All the stylists are really friendly.
