This store is fantastic. I went there after talking to a coworker when I was on a smoke break and…read morehe was vaping. I said I wanted off cigs and asked about vaping and he said this was the place to go. I went in knowing nothing at all, and explained to Charles what I wanted and how clueless I was. He set me up with a great starter kit, set up my device for me, and answered my many questions. When I broke my device (2 days later because I am clumsy) I went back and wanted to buy a new starter kit. Will was working at the time, and he explained that I didn't need a whole new set-up, just a tank to replace the one I ruined. He also let me know what a better tank might be than the one I had--cheaper and higher quality. I would have been an easy up-sell, but he wanted me to have quality and value rather than a pricey sale. I've been going there since and have bought different mods and many juices. Charles and Will ALWAYS take as much time as I need to answer my questions, give their own experiences, talk about what people have liked and disliked, etc. I never feel rushed. They will let you try as many juices as you like so you find one you really enjoy, and Charles is like a juice sommelier--I can go in with vague "I want something like this but not that" and he will suggest something I absolutely love. The in-house brand is inexpensive and very good, and they carry Gentleman's Brew (the Wet Dream and Watermelon Falls are not to be missed!). They also have CBD additives that they chose for quality and price combined. VA vapes isn't my closest shop, and I know I can order things online easily elsewhere, but for the knowledgeable staff and carefully curated selection of products, this is my favorite stop for vape supplies!

Went in looking for pipe tobacco, and Select Leaf didn't disappoint. The counterman showed a good…read moreselection, and he was knowledgeable about the product. Their walk-in humidor is HUGE and well stocked, with cigars for every taste and budget. It did seem to be set a tad high on the humidity level, as some of the cigars had a sheen of moisture on the wrappers. I'll definitely be back to buy my pipe tobacco and supplies, especially since they don't seem to cater to the vape crowd (unlike other "tobacco" shops in the area).

I visit this store at least twice a month if not more. Their cigars are always fresh. I choose to…read moresupport the local store, even though, as a veteran, they do not offer a discount. It's the only cigar shop in the area that does not provide a discount for veterans; in fact, it's the only store in the DMV. The last straw was today. As I walked in to purchase my usual items, which generally cost me approximately $106 to $140, the worker was standing outside smoking. As I got out of my car, he hurried into the store. Another customer approached, and he allowed the other person to enter the humidor. He kept looking at me as I walked towards the back as if to stop me. I asked if there was a problem or if he was closing the area. He looked at a picture of a woman on the door and then back at me. It was then I understood. I explained that she was not me, but he still seemed concerned. I showed him my ID, but he still appeared uneasy. I was mortified that I was being accused of being a shoplifter. I looked nothing like the picture, except that we both are black, and my skin is much darker. I am also a registered patron. During all the months going in there, this has never been a problem. I have decided never to go back there. All my friends and family, including veterans, deserve better humiliation with no apology.
