The side that comes with it; three hush puppies and a butter sauce. The mac & cheese is delicious. The pulled pork doesn't have a lot of flavor to it. Brisket and ribs were good. I would say out of all the pork belly ends are my favorite followed by the brisket and the ribs and then pulled pork. The atmosphere is great. The service is friendly. The food is good. I would definitely return. My waitress was Sonya and she was very good at making sure I was taken care of.

It's casual and lively, with a fun personality that makes it feel different from the usual chain restaurants. The staff were welcoming, and we were seated pretty quickly. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic. The chicken was incredibly juicy on the inside with a crispy, well-seasoned coating that had just the right amount of crunch. The bun was soft and fresh, and everything worked together without being overly heavy. We also tried the mac and cheese, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, checked on us throughout the meal, and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though the restaurant was busy, the food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. One thing I particularly appreciated was that the food tasted freshly prepared rather than like something that had been sitting around under a heat lamp. The portions were generous, and the prices felt fair for the quality. Overall, a really enjoyable experience from start to finish. Great comfort food, friendly service, and a fun downtown atmosphere. I'd absolutely come back and would recommend Fatbird to anyone looking for a satisfying meal in South Bend.
