My experience in this restaurant is based on my based on 5-Course meal 9pm to midn reservation in New Year's eve 2019.
We were the first ones to arrive for the 9 to 12 reservation time. We were accommodated in the back next to the bathroom. The waiter Came to ask if you wanted water and the Wi-Fi password Which he did not give us until 45 minutes later.
We had to remind the waiters about five times before someone decided to bring it to us their excuse was the restaurant was to busy but there were several times where they were just standing by the cashier talking. We went to the bathroom and it was not clean, seats with pee stains and no soap to wash hands. We requested soaps and they never brought it.
Our table was put next to the bathroom door which was not a problem until we could smell the defecation in urine stench when the door was opened.
We requested them to please move her somewhere else because How can we sit next to the stench and enjoy the night. We were told all tables are already full and I said that's OK but again if you know you have this problem why are you sitting us next to the bathroom door. The person chest apologized and said they would close the windows and close the door. They did close the door however when customers went in and out they did not so I was closing the door after every single time a customer. This is all before the meals started and we were waiting 45 minutes to be attended, we were seated In a place that was not only health hazard us but I was essentially paying to come eat and close the door For customers.
We had to wait 20 min before we were served our 1st course, it wasn't brought for everyone so we had to wait for people to have their plate to eat, by that time food was cold.
After they came and picked our plates, it took them 1 hour to bring us the 2nd course. The problem is, everyone else was on to the 4th course. Which means we were waiting for 1 hour to get the 2nd course.
Please know that within that hour we had 3 waiters come to our table and pour wine and ask if things were fine.
When I raised my hand to one of the waiters, the kitchen crew who could see is from their delivery window section, pointed at us and realized we were never served nothing after 1 course.
The waiter came and we asked why is everyone in the 4th meal and we been seating here for 1 hour waiting on 2nd course?
All we got was "Oh am very sorry let me see what happened "
She returned just to say "Yeah it was the kitchen fault for not giving us your plate but we will get it soon"
I said "You guys have been coming to our table for 1 hr and you didn't notice our plates empty and us asking what the next course was"
We got answered with "yeah, am sorry I don't know what you want me to say"
So we decided to take our stuff and leave.
I paid for the wine and I was charged the "complementary" water we were told. There was a Caucasian waiter who was very apologetic, she said she realized it was their fault, that isn't the first time they had this problem "
To which I said "Then why you guys don't change? We come all the way from Mexico to visit you guys to be seated next to a bathroom, that spreads e.coli, not only are we seating next to the bathroom stench but costumers and waiters came to the bathroom and they didn't have soap. So you have been touching plates, cups, wine glasses and even food with no clean hands and that is to include the 2 chefs who went to the bathroom as well"
She apologized said "its been like this and the ownership doesn't care to enforce it to change"
While I was talking to this waiter, we had another female waiter who look of Indian decent, talking over us, saying "its too many people so its not their fault and kitchen fault for not giving us your plate"
Insisting us to sit back down and we would get a complementary wine of our choice.
Mind you I had already paid for a wine that we didn't drink and for the "complementary " water we were told by the waiter it was part of the evening"
Giving costumers food with unhygienic standards is not a "am sorry" situation.
It is horrendous.
This restaurant should be closed down and investigate by The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL). This is a alarming problem.
Beware, thou we are visiting from Mexico. We serve in the United States Military and we had as part of a crew an Army Food Inspector.
We will be notifying of this incident to the Berlin authorities as well as our military bases in EU for sanitation and food purposes.
Having a Restaurant full isn't an excuse for lack of hygiene. Lack of respect and professionalism. This is something that No one no matter where they come from should have to deal with. read more
