A gentleman from Nolt Electric showed up to fix the front porch lights yesterday afternoon. I also had him fix one of the light fixtures in the in the meeting room that needed a new ballast and change a couple of lights that were out in the reading room. He was putting away the "good" light tubes and overheard two staff members talking about a leak in the mechanical room. The plumber had recently left for the day unable to complete the job since it required a special part. The bucket we were using to capture the drips was filling super-fast at that point. So, we were discussing the logistics of keeping it manageable while the Library was open and turning off the water when we closed. So about an hour later, around 6:30, the super electrician shows back up with a bucket/hose combo to move the water from the leak to the floor drain. The bucket was too tall....so he took it back to cut it down to size. Super Electrician to the rescue!! What a GUY!! I was so very impressed. It speaks volumes for the man and the company he works for - They exemplify "service above self"!

Fast forward about a week later, it's almost 100 degrees, we have a newborn in the house, and the AC has stopped working and there's a huge puddle in the basement under the unit. Obviously we don't want the same guys. I found Terry Gingrich online and called. Brian came the very same day and fixed the problem for us. Since then he has replaced our unit, our hot water heater, and done some additional maintenance. They have always gotten back to us when they say. Open and honest with pricing and time lines for work. They keep the workspace clean, and are extremely respectful whenever they have been on the phone or inside our house. Several other electrical companies charged over $100 just to come out and do an estimate before even doing any work - I found this to be ridiculous and decided to go with "James Morrow Electrician and Handyman." I can tell you right away that I made a solid decision as that Jim did a great job from the gecko! He was very responsive, professional and explained everything he is going to do over the phone so that I felt comfortable with choosing him as a professional. When he arrived, he was very respectful to the property. He did not mind me watching him install the electrical outlets in my home and explain how the whole system works. Jim did a fantastic job of eliminating one of my existing electrical outlets and moving it up. He also installed a new GFI outlet in my bathroom so that I can hook up my beloved Japan-style bidet toilet. Overall Jim is very knowledgeable and experienced in his electrical work, as well as very meticulous in little details. The woman that set up my appointment was quick, competent and gracious and could tell I was a bit nervous as I am a Senior Cancer Patient and no longer could escape a house fire quickly. I called Mixon's to see if they could come in the morning. Tim said they would be there. I got a call at 8:30 the next morning and they were there within a half hour. They finished the work and called PPL. They followed up with the township to have an inspection done. This is a great business. They do great work and explain what they are doing. When the electrician arrived, he stated there would be a $600 charge just for troubleshooting to determine the trouble. $800 before any actual repairs would be started? That's insane. Needless to say, I paid him the $195 and sent him on his way. Determined to get our money, his supervisor phoned us twice in ten minutes, pleading with us to keep the appointment, offering to reduce a mere $75 off the total charge. To think we would cave in to that was an insult. We managed to have someone repair the breaker and outlet for under a $100. Never will we call these people again.
