This place is terrible. Mechanic called me.a liar. Brought truck in for a compressor change, told him I bought freon to check if it was low, but pressure was too high and I did not use any. He said because I used leak detecting freon, my.whole system.needed to be replaced, charged me $106 dollars for looking at the truck and would not work on truck. Meanwhile, another shop replaced the compressor and ac is working. Don't ever go here the mechanic is lazy, and an idiot. read more

After reading several reviews it became apparent there is a theme which is credible. this guy takes the work, then tells you to "junk" the car. as if people can just do that, as if its like going and getting milk. Its insulting for sure. I brought my car there to have a caliper replaced and a wheel bearing, something like that. this particular model of car required the whole assembly to come apart. I also asked he install a new shock since it was all apart. just like anything else if you have a big job you do what you can afford as a preventive maintenance kind of thing. This guy charged me the time it would have taken to do the job and more, as if that's all he was doing. over 200 dollars to replace a strut; the whole assembly, including the strut, had to come apart to do the other work. i provided the strut. I am not a mechanic, but i know as fact it took him 2o min tops to place the strut in the machine to swap the coil spring. I felt ripped off. Maybe he does stuff like this because he doesnt want you back? rapes you, tell you to get rid of your junk? I will never return, and always tell anyone when it comes up, like yelping. those college kids who said he called their cars "junk", its true because he said it to me. read more

I have been having my Saabs worked on at T and M for over 5 years. Not once did I have to take the car back because the repair was wrong. The owners are knowledgeable and are willing to work with customers in various ways. The reviews from California and New York City obviously have the wrong T and M Motors. if I could give zero stars or less, I would. My son is away at college and his truck broke down. Had to have roadside service tow to a shop because it is not in a drivable condition. "Bring it in and we will check it and give you a quote". Keep in mind for the $200 part they are charging him $1100 plus hourly fees. Talk about taking advantage of a young kid. Of course he doesn't have $1500 just laying around and called to tell them he needed some time to come up with the cash. The lady "Tracy" told him he needed to have the truck removed ASAP. PLUS she told him in order to have it removed has to pay $70 or they wouldn't release it. She then called me and told me I needed to give her a card number over the phone so they would put the keys somewhere in the truck for him to get. Absolutely disgusting business practices and terrible treatment of customers. Even if he had the money immediately, he wouldn't get his truck fixed there due to her poor customer service skills and nasty attitude. If you are going to charge for an estimate- that should be told to the client before you agree to take the vehicle. STAY AWAY. Att. college kids and parents- go ANYWHERE else. read more

This place is terrible stay away! After they schemed me for $2,000 they told me that my car can not make it back home to LI and that I should just junk it? They didn't seem to want to tell me that before they took my money. They also said they couldn't find a certain part they needed to fix my car. So my dad found it and sent it up so I can bring it into the shop. They charged me for $400 after installing the part then told me to junk the car and it will still not be able to be fixed and make it home to Long Island. I didn't even get $300 for junking my car which would be fine if this place didn't just charge me $2,000 to not fix it. Have actually never had worse service before. I've been taking my vintage auto to T&M for several years now. The service, parts and labor have always been more than satisfactory. I usually look up average pricing for what I am about to have performed, so I know if the quote that I get is reasonable. It always has been. For some who have complained, i would suggest doing the same thing BEFORE you have the repair, rather than later. I find the owners to be very accommodating. They are very busy, as a result of their good service, so I know that I am not always able to get in as quickly as I would like, but I know they do their best to fit me in ASAP. read more

As stated I had to get a new motor because the one TM put in was total crap. My regular mechanic who is putting the new motor in is blown away by the pathetic work TM did on my car. There are numerus stripped and or broken boults/nuts. Wires not placed properly and not secured properly. On top of all that, the axle requires 3 bolts that need to be removed to replace the motor but only one was there. If that had come off it could have caused a major accident or worse. BTW, I think it's very telling TM has made no comment on this post. I guess the next step for me is the Better Business Bureau. read more

If you are a college student at Platts and your car breaks down stay away from this place. I brought my car here several times when it wasn't starting and the starter turned out to be an issue. They installed a cheap old starter and not a new one so therefore did not fix the problem because I broke down 2 weeks later. My daughter is 600 miles away from home in school at Plattsburgh when her car started causing her problems. Not knowing where would be a fair and reasonable place - stumbled upon positive reviews of TM Auto. When she dropped the car off - nervous Mom is thinking - oh boy - we are going to get raked over the coals on this repair. WOW - was I wrong. Worst place to take your personal car/truck to for a state inspection! Couldn't get it in for two weeks and when I did they failed me for bad breaks. Quoted me over $800 to get new ones put on. After telling them NO WAY! I will do it myself. I called another shop near by for a second check, where they took it for a ride and said there is completely nothing wrong with my breaks and passed it right away.
