I found doing our own taxes was nerve-racking, as we were afraid we would miss out on tax savings or commit some error on our returns. Mike always puts our minds at ease, and he has found many savings for us over the years, offers terrific suggestions for opportunities to lower our tax bills, and charges extremely reasonable fees. Mike completes our taxes very quickly once we give him all of our paperwork and statements, and he posts them in a web portal for us to review and approve prior to filing. There should have been no confusion as I sold my income property and had all those documents separated for him. However, as a result, I received a return correction notice zeroing out my $600+ credit. I called Patrick to correct his mistake and he directed me to work with the Dept. of Revenue directly to provide what they are looking for. Now, they are saying I can only claim part of the credit because I bought the house in 2017. Reading online, it looks like I'm eligible for the credit on my sold property too. 6 months later, I still need to submit new documents and figure this out myself. Isn't that what I paid him for?
