Also, Chris walked us through the paperwork with the power transmission company and the power company. He always showed up on time, as scheduled. Then a few years later, after trouble free operation, we thought there was a problem with the inverter. We called Chris and he made an appointment for the next day to meet at the house. He determined the fuses in the breaker box out at the panels were blown and replaced them at that visit. CRSolar is a local company here to stay. The payoff period is 7 years for us - in the end, the rooftop array cost us what electricity would for 7 years, then it's free forever. And that's if electricity costs never go up, which they probably will. So counting the likelihood of electricity rate increases, the payoff period is likely less than 7 years. Point is, installing a home solar power array is not only good for not burning coal - where the majority of electricity comes from in Austin - but it's actually cheaper in the long run. Texas Solar Power Company did a great job - really. They know their stuff, they are dependable and committed to providing a great product to the customer. They came out originally on a Saturday to put in the original bid. They came out on a Friday night to get the final contract signed. They have really done everything to get this setup installed. I still call them and they come out if there is any problem. Sure - there are a few snags. They are *sometimes* a bit hard to get ahold of. I think they are really just super busy with the solar boom that's going on. The panels took longer to come in than they estimated - again due to high demand. Point is, if you're considering rooftop solar - which you should - call them. They are good at what they do.

On 04/28/2021 I provided him with all the information That I gave to three (3) other Solar companies to provide with an estimate of how much it would cost to install a solar system. Colby, indicated that he would get me the quote on 04/19/2021, I waited most of the morning to hear from Colby, so when I didn't receive an email or a call, I called the company. I was told Colby was in the field and he would pass message to him and have Colby give me a call. At about 5:30, I finally had to call the company to find out if Colby got my message, but to my surprise Colby answered the phone. I asked him if he was done with my quote and at that time I found out he wasn't comfortable providing me with a quote. So he was told how mad I was, especially when he had all the information the day before, he knew a trench was required and all he did was blow me off. So I called his Boss Derek, who did nothing but give excuse after excuse. My best recommendation is to find a Solar Company that knows what it takes to install a Solar system.

It's obvious that Jason really loves his work and he genuinely wants to find the best solutions for each individual client. He was very honest with us and told us what options were probably not best for our specific situation (solar, and new water heater) and what would help us the most (open cell spray foam insulation in our attic due to our low pitched (3/12) roof and gross lack of current insulation, according to Jason's calculations this will save us 36% per month on our electricity!!). We also had them do a few other projects- Indow Windows (very cool product and thousands of dollars less than new windows!) in our living room and bedroom to help with drafts and noise from our old aluminum windows, a solar tube skylight in our kitchen, and LED bulbs for a few of the lights we use the most. The spray foam went in much faster than I thought, and as soon as it was finished we could feel a difference in the house and the heater wasn't running nearly as much, we can't wait to see how much it helps in the summer! The entire cleaning of 17 panels took a bit over 2 hours. By the conclusion, the output was 7.2 watts. Full sunshine yesterday, the panels were providing all of our energy and topping off the battery. Photos were taken before and after the job. Great job.
