I used these guys last year and they were outstanding. The three men were gentle with our large heavy antiques. They helped with moving our washer and dryer to the second floor. The main guy had some good ideas to swap out some cords for hookups and overall it was a good experience. We will definitely use these guys again. read more

DON'T use this company!! DAMAGED our washing machine and dryer that was brand new, paid a lot of money for barely had it for a year!! They damaged our new mattress and bed railing & headboard!! I'm furious, somebody is replacing because we don't have money to waste!! And then gonna blame it on holes in the back yard...nobody told you to bring my furniture/appliances through my back deck because you didn't want to bring it through the front door! I'm always wary of paying for a job based on a "per hour" rate, but I had no need for concern with TLC Movers. The guys were extremely friendly and worked non stop until the job was finished. This is the third moving company that my wife and I have used in the past 5 years, and TLC Moving has been the most efficient and fairly priced company that we have used. Mark and Nate arrived when promised. They were friendly, courteous and efficient. They had my son's apartment loaded into the truck in no time at all and unloaded at the new place just as efficiently. They wasted no time. Nate hooked up the washer dryer and we didn't even ask him to. The price was very reasonable and we would highly recommend them to anyone and would not hesitate to contact them again in the future. We had a terrible experience with these movers. After 3 hours of loading the truck I realized they were turning our boxes on their sides and upside down an cramming them into the truck. Including boxes with fragile stickers on all sides. One of the movers stood around and waited for directions from the other. Finally I started helping move the furniture because he was so slow. I asked him if he thought it was odd that I was loading the truck and he yelled at me to "f off". I told him I had kids in the house and he needed to stop swearing at me. He got in my face yelled at me then walked off the job. The company sent other movers to assist the first guy. But we did not get a discount for the lost time or the unprofessional behavior. We didn't get an apology. Most of our furniture didn't survive the mover standing on it in the truck. It's been 8 months. I'm still mad. I would not ever recommend this company to anyone. read more

The two gentlemen arrived on time, were friendly, courteous and super-industrious. They wrapped the furniture, and in under 1-1/2 hours had all the furniture and boxes loaded on the truck and tied down. Super, super job! read more

My friends told me that once you use movers you'll never go back. Unfortunately this experience made me never want to use movers again. The company wasn't up front with their charges, hardly called back when they said they would, and came three and a half hours late. Not an easy thing when you're scheduling to be done moving before picking up a baby from daycare (waiting for them and picking up the baby late). Then the move ends at 7:30 in the evening and you're up late juggling a bed frame and said baby. The movers themselves were VERY nice guys. They hustled hard to get it done on a hot hot day. Give them a raise! Can't say that enough. The movers themselves were super nice and apologetic and sweating up a storm. What I didn't like was the office interaction. They didn't seem to have it together administratively. But if you don't care about that sort of thing here are some tips to help cover your A - If someone tells you $85 an hour with a two hour minimum be sure to ask 'Are you sure? Are there other fees? An extra charge for more than one mover? An extra half hour of travel time to and from wherever?' - If your move is time sensitive (by up to 3.5 hours) BE THE FIRST MOVE THAT DAY - If they don't call you back, call them back - For the loveofgod wrap your couch cushions like you wrap your mattress. There are splinters on the truck bed that will take years to pick out. On the plus side - they did take of fifteen whole minutes for being 3.5 hours late. FIFTEEN...chiching. read more

TLC Movers 601 Business Loop 70 W Columbia, MO 65203 The amount of damage this company did to my belongings and home was so extensive I decided to call and talk to someone (there were even muddy foot prints on the bottom of my dining room table where they had turned it upside down and walked on it, breaking the leaf). I was told someone would contact me. Called again, two days later and was lied to by the woman on the phone. She said they sent me an email asking for pictures. I never gave them an email. Again she said she would have someone contact me. After several calls a "manager" and one of the original movers came to the house to see the damage. The very first thing I showed them, the mover said they didn't do it. I disagreed and told them, "yes you did". He began yelling at me and calling me a liar. I told him to get out of my house. He slammed the door as hard as he could on the way out. The "manager" took pictures of the damage and even he argued with me about it. Saying they didn't do some of it. He finished and told me he would be back at 6pm when my boyfriend was home and tell us what was decided. He never called or showed. I called them again the next day. Told them this is crap and I shouldn't have to be going through this or be treated this way. The woman on the phone said she would get with him and find out what was up. She actually called back - not the "manager" like I requested. She then asked me if they could pick up the furniture to have it repaired. At the same time the "manager" was calling my boyfriend and asking him if they really did the damage. After all, I am a woman and either was a liar, or too stupid to know what was happening, or to deal with. I had been nothing but POLITE. Of course we decided we didn't want them to touch our stuff again and the "manager" told my bf that they would only color the damaged areas. That was how they repair things. WRONG! These are antiques and they weren't going to do that to them! I never received an apology for any of this. Not even for being called a liar! If you value your belongings, and don't want the extra stress added to your move, find someone that really cares! Not these people! read more
