Tony is a great communicator, and effective with his crew. We basically needed the old backyard drainage system at our house redone, and this included cutting concrete in our deck and running a drain line underneath, with several drain boxes installed in line. The work was done beautifully, with a very nice concrete pour which closely matched our surrounding deck. They also redid our backyard sprinkler system, which really needed some (forgive me) TLC. Excellent work there also. These guys were efficient, on time and on schedule, and on budget. Working with this group has been a pleasure, and TLC is in our address book moving forward. Avoid at all costs. I blame myself for not doing more research. I hired this guy to install a French drain -- huge mistake. No written estimate, then tried to raise the price mid-job from what we had already agreed on. The work itself was careless. He did a ton of unnecessary digging, used impermeable plastic in the system, and didn't even cap a drain. On top of that, he piled the plants he dug out right onto my dwarf blood red Japanese maple -- some were literally sitting on the branches. I fired him before he could make things worse. Tony does not upsell services to customers and he will only you know what plan will work based on his honesty & experience. Tony answered many questions that we had and he was super helpful! The services I received were: Weed barrier replacements, replanting trees/plant, dead plant removal, and re-installing half of the sprinklers at the backyard and/ or front yard. I hired Tony at TLC Landscape Services for help with my sprinkler timer and valves. I got many quotes from other providers, but Tony's quick communication and excellent rates won me over. Tony came next-day for a consultation and service call, where he diagnosed my sprinkler timer as being outdated and in need of replacement. The crew at TLC is hard to beat. First, their prices are very competitive, they use great concrete (because there is a difference in quality), and they understand what reinforcement your concrete needs based on its intended purpose which could save you a lot in the long run. TLC replaced the 5 valve manifold that irrigates my front yard. I posted the job on Yelp and Tony responded to me within minutes and came over to my home within a couple hours. The next morning, Tony and his crew were here at 8:00 sharp as promised. They dug up the entire valve manifold and found a couple critical leaks. They replaced all the valves with precision and craftsmanship. They replaced a drip line with quality parts and craftsmanship. They covered my house with plastic in the work area and laid down tarp to put the dirt on as they dug. They were precise and conscientious. The leaks are gone and we are extremely pleased. Tony and his team were great to work with. I contacted Tony through Yelp and he responded within hours to set up a time to get a quote. He provided several solutions to my drainage problem that has caused flooding in the past that would not require the installation of a sump pump. I ended up deciding after his recommendation to have his team install a French drain. He was able to get something on the calendar within days of meeting me for a quote and completed the work in just a few hours. It was so nice to have a team be as responsive and quick as he and his crew were. His team ended up bringing the pipe out into my front yard so the water discharged into the street. This configuration required that a trench be dug into my recently completed (newly landscaped) front yard. Tony and his team were sensitive to the recently completed landscape project do to the new network of drip lines and outdoor lighting, making sure that they did not disturb any more of the new landscape than they had to. In the end the pipe and French drain were installed and Tony's team put the yard back where it looks like they were never even here. Truly an amazing job! read more
