She's SO knowledgeable and very thorough in how you want your hair cut and different techniques that are good for you!! It's the best cut I've had in a long time. It has been awhile since I cut my hair so it was super long and had no shape to it. We took a decent amount off and she was so good at thinning out the ends and blending it in. Another thing she did which I feel a lot of stylists don't do is she blew it straight showed me my hair THEN curled it. In the past I've had girls curl it and it looks great but once I straighten it I can tell it's choppy or not blended well at the ends. My wife and I had a very disappointing experience with MJ and her haircut service. This was her…read moresecond time coming in for a haircut, and the experience this time was very contrasted to her first visit. My wife came in to get her layers touched up and ends trimmed before our wedding in one week. She brought in a reference photo and asked for a small trim on the ends of her hair, but to keep the length. MJ asked if she wanted the "short pieces" like the girl's hair in the reference photo, and my wife agreed. In the reference photo, the "short pieces" hit right above her nose after styling, so my wife wasn't expecting to get that much length taken off. Despite these instructions, and even with the reference photo, the first thing MJ did was take her long, side curtain hairs and made two straight cuts to where those pieces of hair fell above her eyes. MJ gave her short side bangs that my wife did not ask for or consent to. During the haircut, my wife raised a concern about the cut being too short, which MJ replied with, "It's just hair. It will grow back." My wife responded saying her wedding is next week, and that was when MJ attempted to fix her hair. By that time, it was too late. When we left the salon, my wife was very distressed and immediately began crying (she has never cried over her hair before, even after a bad haircut). I reached out to MJ privately the next day to let her know how unhappy we were with her service and care. I asked her to rectify the situation by giving us a refund, but her responses were very defensive and dismissive. I responded to her with photos and a detailed explanation of what was asked for and how it differed from what MJ gave my wife, but instead of reading my message, she asked to call me. I agreed, and she immediately began to yell at me claiming that my wife got the exact hair cut in the reference photo, and that she only cut off one inch from her hair. I could barely get a word in because she kept cutting me off every chance I got to try to explain my messages to her (that she didn't read). MJ's negligence to give decent customer service is alarming, and her unprofessional conduct and failure to take accountability is unacceptable. This experience really confirmed our suspicious about MJ's roughness with her customers, and overall it showed to us that she has a lack of respect for her customers.
