Stopped by here on my way home from Pismo. They had a wide variety of items and designers that you don't see often at other locations. I even had a chance to find some good selections for future gifts for my friends. They were affordable gifts and did not hurt my wallet. I bookmarked this location so I can come back in the near future.

I recently purchased a pack of jumper cables and other various roadside supplies. I had high hopes for this product but when the jumper cables came in need I was disappointed and nervous for the safety of the product and other users that have purchased it. I needed to jumpstart my truck and when I unpackaged it they were very short and when in connected it to my truck the plastic melted off it started smoking and I burned my hands trying to remove them. I would not advise purchasing this product.

A lot of the clearance clothing is shredded to bits... Not sure why. Got a $40 dress for $3 though if you're into DIY.

If you're really bargain shopping, go to Ross. This is more of a convenience discounter, and there aren't many good deals. Every month or so I come back in to look around and see if I can find a bargain, and usually leave empty handed or with a piece of damaged clearance. For those of you who are big on your labels, this place will be great. Excellent selection of handbags, house ware, baby clothing, and toiletries, eh selection on everything else. This location gets the high-end clothing, and is very trendy (they divvy up merch to these stores based on the relative income of the shopping population...chic SLO mommies, thanks for pooping my bargain party). The one thing I have learned living out here is that second-hand stores and thrift shops are actually pretty great - I guess a lot of people out here actually cycle their wardrobes based on the season. I'm still wearing clothes from middle school (I was a big kid), if that tells you anything. Next time I want to window shop, I'll come here.

The prices are great here. The selection of home items is awesome. Wonderful candles! Great journals, kitchenware, makeup and beauty products. (Not stoked on the clothing selection.) Andrew rang up my items and was super nice. All of the staff were super warm, welcoming and friendly. Andrew helped me check out at the register and basically read my mind asking if I wanted to put my items in my new carry on that I bought (instead of bagging everything.) What a wonderful suggestion! He also courteously wrapped all of my new glass candles in safe wrap paper and arranged everything carefully and neatly inside. He was very assuring and talkative. The only thing that left me with a bad impression was how many times I was pressured and asked if I wanted to apply for the credit card, despite knowingly having terrible credit and trying to work on this and clearly articulating and repeating myself at least three times on this. Finally I caved and said, why not? Only to be denied and felt like absolute sh* afterwards. I knew I wouldn't be approved and didn't need the extra ding on my credit. I left feeling harassed and dismantled... Definitely not how a customer should feel! Especially after spending $300 here. I called and told the manager how I felt about the credit card pushing afterwards and she was genuine, responsive and attentive on the phone. I have really wonderful memories shopping here early in college and I still have my wonderful dish set that I bought 10 years ago!

There is a wide variety of both chain and local stores to choose from, such as a department store (Sears), a supermarket, a big-box bookstore (Borders), a local place called the Crushed Grape, Best Buy, and others. Basically, if you live in San Luis Obispo and need something, but prefer to avoid downtown because of the inconvenience of walking from one end to the other, this is the alternative for those who actually use a car in their daily lives and are not ashamed of it.

They look it up and then tell me I would have to do it through the mail and online. at this point I feel as if they're accusing me of doing something or trying to pull something over them so I give up completely and just say all right I'll buy the game, just to end this weird interaction. *Overall, this target has horrendous customer service and shows why everything is going to online, AI, and robots!*

Monday, 9AM is my weekly Costco trip, I should probably only go if I need something, because, and we all know this, you walk out with stuff you didn't intend on buying. Am I right? I've only been an executive member for going on 3 years now, the first year, I didn't go to Costco, but since retiring it's a weekly trip and usually there will be something on the Costco list we need. The SLO location is great for me, about 30 minutes from Paso, easily accessible, lots of parking, Costco gas and the reliable food court we have grown to love. I walk the store weekly, never in a hurry to get in and out, but the only time I've seen it really crowded was Thanksgiving week, 2025, but even then it was manageable once inside, it never felt crowded and the check out lives, including self check weren't a long wait. I feel the employees do a great job keeping the store stocked and clean, making it easy to navigate. I have use the optometry department, which was very easy, albeit a little bit of a wait to be served. They took all three of my prescriptions and I found a frame and a few weeks I picked my glasses up. Since then, they have repaired them once, no charge. If you need glasses, get them filled at Costco, so easy, good selection. Overall, I am happy with their selection, there are things I wish they would stock, miso marinated sablefish and Tejava being two of those items. It's nice to see some new items as I stroll the aisle and overall it's s great experience in SLO. Can't forget that hotdog meal on the way out, still a deal at $1.50!

While we rarely go to HomeGoods, we do go far more often to their sister stores, such as TJ Max & Marshals. When is the best time to go? It is best to go for the after Xmas sales, when someone can score on holiday snacks at 50% or more off. We grab a ton of chocolates, nuts, candies, and even holiday coffee just the other day a few days after Xmas. We were not alone, and it is hard not to spend alot of time browsing and not interact with others here. I somehow got into a conversation about the health benefits or risks of some of the foods that were offered there. Someone was asking me about the alleged health implications of Seed Oils, Mushrooms, and more all the while telling me that they would never" get a vaccine. They also claimed that online that some are recommending Nicotine patches to fight infections & COVID itself. I tried to put things into perpective & had already researched the absurd claims on social media about the Nicotine. The Nicotine patch idea had nothing to do with evading an infection, it had to do with some rather hair-brained theory involving a neurotransmitter & brain fog. The so-called "study" was not really a study as it involved only 4 people in Germany. It was done by what appeared to be a non-English speaking Anesthesiologist in Germany...who somehow published an extended long paper in English. I read it and my opinion was that it was near worthless and could encourage people to do something that did more harm than good...and was utterly useless to prevent infection. Other absurdities including buying products from Poland, Turkey, and wherever and somehow working about some fringe ideas about seed oils, and not that Cinnamon & other spices could very well have toxic lead added to them due to simple greed. Lead makes it way into our kids applesauce and other products...yet people somehow worry about seed oils. The MAHA movement, now mainstream, even invades HomeGoods!
