Nice, clean, roomy and fairly new (just a few years old) TJ Maxx. The store is very spacious and well lit. All the signage they have are very well positioned and very well marked. I got a few minor electronic items that are a great deal. Yes Dollar Tree is cheaper, but sometimes they don't have the name brands nor the selection that TJ Maxx would have. I also think the quality of these small electronic items is better here. The company roots date back to 1976, when Bernard (Ben) Cammarata, General Merchandising Manager of Marshalls at the time, was recruited by discount retailer, Zayre to develop and spearhead the launch of a new off-price chain selling family apparel and home fashions. Under Mr. Cammarata's leadership, T.J. Maxx was born, with its first stores opening in 1977. In the late 1980s, Zayre was restructured and spun off three of its brands -- T.J. Maxx, Hit or Miss, and Chadwick's of Boston -- which served as the initial retail banners of what would become The TJX Companies. TJX continued to grow steadily over the years, opening stores in new markets, countries, and continents, launching new chains, and acquiring other retailers, to bring its popular off-price model to an even wider network of customers who love the eclectic mix of quality, fashionable, brand name apparel and home fashions, all at amazing value. 5 stars for the dressing rooms. I'm pleasantly surprised. Large selection. Dressing rooms are bigger than they appear from outside, large front-lit mirrors within the rooms, a seat, tons of hangers. They play music in the background. Large mirrors outside the rooms as well, well lit. Makes a difference. Zero stars for the ridiculous lines. Now I remember why I never came back. There is a line the entire length of the store, and it wraps around 3x before you reach the registers. I will never come back here and honestly can't believe anyone accepts waiting for this long. read more

Much better location - the store is absolutely huge and connected to Home Goods. I was so wrapped up in the TJX side (only got through maybe half of TJX ) that when I got to Home Goods I just looked quickly at the Halloween decorations and some of the food stuffs and then called it a night. Very nice, spacious TJ Maxx and Homegoods combo. Very clean, well organized and well stocked. Nice jewelry counter and the day I visited they were extremely well supplied with casual and cocktail dresses. It is as good, if not better, than the similar TJ Maxx Homegoods in Plainville. There is also a Stop and Shop, Dollar Tree and Starbucks in the same complex. Easy parking right outside the store and right near 495. Adding this location to my TJ Maxx favorites! There's also another shopping complex down the street I'll check out on my next visit to this area. read more

I hadn't been in a TJ Maxx in quite awhile. I went looking for some casual summer clothes. I was very disappointed in the lack of choices. Very few summer dresses left in August. Winter clothes and Halloween decorations out already. I guess you need to shop in the beginning of a season these days. Prices were reasonable but all I bought was a pair of white cutoff shorts. read more

I felt mixed upon hearing that TJ Maxx was moving (along with their sister, HomeGoods) from the Quarry Square plaza to Milford Crossing. I was happy for a new TJ Maxx, but not so much for HomeGoods. While the previous HomeGoods over at Quarry Square was great, the TJ Maxx wasn't ever that popular for my shopping habits. The previous TJ Maxx didn't have a bad selection, but was too spacious. I mean that there just never seemed to be enough inventory and it just seemed bare. It also seemed like every time I was there someone would jack up the thermostat to at least 80 degrees. This newer store addressed all of the concerns I had with the previous store. It much more roomy, there is much more stuff, and the layout in general works SO much better and is no where near the choppy old style of the other store with pathways going every which way throughout. Fully stocked and given name brand merchandise... much more than some other TJ Maxx locations that I have been to. Luggage section also seemed fully stocked as well, and the "cart parking" outside the dressing rooms is absolutely hysterical. Friendly staff and very well organized, and well set up store. I would come back here in the future and suggest this as one of my favorite clothing retailers in the Milford area. Kohl's and TJ Maxx are the "real" options for the area, and now they are much closer in proximity! Plus, with this place, you can get all your home stuff just a threshold away in HomeGoods (just like the old store!). 5 stars for the new TJ Maxx. read more

I miss how good TJ Maxx stores are in Mass and this store is no exception. It's combined with HomeGoods, so that makes it extra dangerous for my wallet. There is no shortage of nice shoes, designer bags, jewelry and Boston memorabilia. I spent about 30 minutes here (not enough time) and walked away with some great finds. I wish I had a bit more time to explore and look through their generous career and dress sections more. read more

I have shopped at the Milford TJ Maxx since the store first opened in the now Gold's Gym location in the late 1980s. Though the store was somewhat small (pre Homegoods days) and the designer merchandise didn't seem overly abundant the merchandise was well organized. I recall one of my first purchases was a wool Ralph Lauren navy blazer for $30 dollars.. Times changed as TG Maxx and a new Homegoods store moved across the Quarry Plaza to a much large retail location years back. These stores were spacious and offer much variety. The TJ Maxx was so large even fully stock the store looked bare at time. Hence a move to a new shopping plaza last December. While the new location has better highway access the smaller parking area is is more difficult to navigate. The new store is fresh and modern but while the Quarry Plaza location had too much retail space the new location especially apparel department is cramped with clothing racks close together and narrow aisles. A lot has changes have take place but I still have that Ralph Lauren navy blazer which now sells for over $300 at a department store. My blazer looks identical to the department store R.L. one except my jacket was made in the USA. read more

Since opening the TJ Maxx and Home Goods in their new location it is awful..They have no space, selections are very limited, and everyone and everything is in the way.. It looks like they take leftovers and pile them up wherever they can fit them and if it happens to be in the middle of an aisle that is where it goes.. It is awful... It was the worse move they could make.. Their other location was perfect. You could go in look, and not bump into items, people, and shopping carts.. I know I won't be going back.. The experience was awful and I did try to give it a second chance and it was the same.. Worse move ever.. read more

much smaller than the old store - just ask the employees. i asked a few and they all agreed the move is a disaster in many ways. they have less space to put out all the items for sale! and it seems they are under watchful eyes to perform more and faster? there are workers crawling all over the aisles/shelves to put items out, RUNNING!!! thru the store while pushing carts of goods (i almost got side-swiped twice!), and even stepping in front of customers so they can stock wares? how can i shop when you are blocking what i want to see??? i had to ask one worker if i could get by her because she had 2 different wagons blocking the aisle i wanted to browse. she looked at me like I WAS IN HER WAY! another employee apologized (she practically pushed me aside) and said she needed to get her work done or she'd be "in trouble"? not a very good atmosphere for buyers OR the employees. i think they may have more employees than necessary; besides THEM taking up more space than actual shoppers do, some of them appear to have nothing to do but stand and chitchat (while others are harassed to do more?). maybe the talkers are management? if that's the case they need to learn to get out of the way of customers because they are hindering sales. i will not be shopping here any longer. i don't need to spend the money AND be treated rudely.
