Since my old favorite closed earlier this year, I've been coming to the Macy's in Westland Mall. (I even would come here a couple of other times when I needed shoes or cologne .) Yes, "El Weslan Mol", the same mall where I spent a lot of my youth! This most recent trip was to get a new polo shirt for brunch as well as a new pair of shorts and update my cologne. I bought a preppy classic Tommy Hilfiger polo & shorts, as well as an Azzaro cologne gift set that came with a couple of samples, which are perfect to have in my car if I need to get nice during the middle of the day. Due to rewards points from my credit card, I was able to get a good deal on the shirt and shorts. The Macy's is located at the end of the mall closest to the Palmetto Expressway and I've never had a problem finding parking. At least in the perfume department, I was able to get some help from an employee including letting me try different samples. Walking around, I also noticed a good amount of employees like by the shoe department, but the menswear department could have had a few more sales people. That's why I'm knocking it to four stars. Otherwise, this was a great shopping situation, and just like I went in the early 90's I'll be at Westland next time I need to buy clothes.

I usually visit the store on the weekends to buy regular household things that I would need, or I look for deals on business clothing. This specific Marshalls store has several household items, typically spices and Décor pieces for the kitchen that my girlfriend likes. I like it because they have a larger selection of active wear, Nike, Assics, Under Armor. Employees can be very helpful and have a good person to person skills, the store is also very organized and unlike other stores like Marshalls like Ross or TJ Max everything is in it's place. I came here to get new reading glasses and shop for any clothes that might catch my eye. It's great one-stop shopping. I was able to get new Lenses in my glasses as well as buy another pair in a couple hours. At Marshall's, they had just put new swimsuits in the juniors for $19-$24, which retail up to $100 at regular retail stores on the beach. I tried on some Sambas at Adidas, then my glasses were ready and I grabbed lunch at Cheesecake Factory before leaving. The one con for me was how many individual store employees spoke zero English. In Polo and Levi's and even Saks, I encountered difficulty being understood. I guess this is a sad reality in Miami now.

I would have to say though that the clothing and shoes section do not have as much variety as other Targets (Dadeland and Bird Road) but it's fine for an emergency visit. The clearance section for the food area has much more than the clothing section so that should tell you a little something on variety. Pricing for the home products and clothes are a little pricey for being Target and all but quality most of the time is high, so I guess it balances it out. Ultimately Target is my go to when I don't have time to deal with the commotion of Walmart down the street.
