a bloody drink and a plate of donuts
    Josh P.

Stopped by Sunday with 2 buddies to get bloody marys and couldn't have been happier with the results. The bloody came with 2 wings, cheese, meat, pickles ajd olives. The drink mix was some v8 and bloody mix but I didn't pay attention to what vodka they use. Drink was delicious! Came with a cream filled donut on the side. Go get you some breakfast!

Loaded Bloody Mary... not pictured- chicken wings and donut holes. AWESOME!!! Best Bloody Mary ever!!!

The ever popular questions on a Sunday - where do you want to go for a good Bloody Mary? Where do you want to go for a good Mimosa? I now have my answer! The only reason I'm not rating a 5/5 is because I didn't have a chance to order any food so I can't comment on that but I LOVED my "Tavern Fizz" - a mimosa with a splash of orange vodka and my boyfriend loved his ultimate Bloody Mary with shrimp, jerky, chicken wings, cheese and more! I also really liked the ambience of the bar. It's very open and there are lots of windows (perfect for a sunny Sunday!). The bar staff were friendly and I really enjoyed myself. Looking forward to trying some food next time!

Very nice bar at Titus Tavern. Bar is beautiful wood, perfect height and nice and deep

Love this cozy new pub at the corner of Titus and Cooper in the heart of Irondequoit. The owners John and Bucky did a wonderful job finishing it out with hunter green walls and dark wood, a beautiful fireplace, and a gorgeous wood bar that is perfect height and depth for bellying up for beer and conversation with your better half or your wing man. They have a limited menu of sandwiches provided by the Cooper DelI next door. I did not try the food, but Cooper DelI has long been know for its sandwiches, and I have eaten there and enjoyed the food on several occasions. But this is a great place to watch a game or just catch up with an old friend. The walls are lined with Irondequoit memorabilia from days gone by, a lacrosse stick hangs proudly over the fireplace. Young girlfriends sipping wine, a table of older women, and several other mixed groups were enjoying the atmosphere here on a cold Thursday night in March. They have a nice mix of local and well known drafts available including Dogfish Head, Ithaca Cascazilla (a personal favorite) and Guinness to name just a few, and reasonably priced at $4.50 pint. They also have a respectable wine selection, and I noticed that the red wine was served in nice oversize wine glasses which many will appreciate. Music is not too loud and allows for easy conversation. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained...it's a great little spot that was sorely needed in Irondequoit, a nicer, more upscale alternative to the grittier neighbor Murph's across the street. Titus Tavern has the charm and warmth that were sorely lacking in the cavernous and short lived Copper Grill around the corner. Parking is a bit challenging with just a small lot for about 20 cars, but it is not a large place so not too much of a challenge. I will hold off one star til I've tried some of the food, but this place is most definitely worth a visit, especially if you're in the Irondequoit area. And it is an easy walk for many Irondequoit residents. The owner John can usually be found on premises and is always happy to strike up a conversation. Check it out sometime.

First let me say Titus Tavern is a bar not a gourmet restaurant. They don't pretend to be. It's a gathering place. Six or so TV's to placate the sport fans. The staff is friendly. Many customers are familiar with each other. The ambience is styled after Irondequoit sports. We just go there on Sundays for for their Signature Bloody Mary's. You don't need lunch. (see photo). Honestly we never sampled the Pub food. All I can say is the Deli is a busy place during the week.

It was NOT a disappointment. It's crazy I lived in Rochester for 18 1/2 years and never heard of it before and that was my loss. The atmosphere, the energy, the community in this bar was outstanding. They have a great selection of beers on tap. I started with The Kind but when I saw they had Mass Riot from Prison City I quickly moved to that. Didn't think I was going to eat but the food smelled so good I had to order. SO many things looked great on the menu it was so tough to choose. Ended up getting hot Buffalo Wings and the Pot Roast Grilled Cheese. The wings were good. A little sweet which is not my jam for Buffalo Wings but they still were good quality. The Pot Roast Grilled Cheese was absolutely freekin outstanding. Shamrock Jacks is now on my must visit every time I come back to Rochester.

Our table got free shots because one member of the party was celebrating her birthday at Easy Sailor (she also received leis around her neck). Cons: Expensive. Small portions. Food is OK, but not worth the cost. Drinks are VERY expensive. The vegan appetizers are coconut sticky rice, sesame garlic vegetables, and kung pao cucumbers. There is one vegan entrée: Spamfu fried rice. The coconut sticky rice was decent, but not filling. And it's hard to eat it without making a big mess, because they foolishly serve it to you in a small, overstuffed dish with no plate under it. So when you dig into the ball of rice with your fork, you end up dislodging bits of it all over the table. They really need to figure out a better way to serve it. The sesame garlic vegetables were quite good (better than the rice), but also not filling. My wife had the Spamfu, which was a surprisingly small portion given that it's billed as an entrée. The vegan bits of "Spam" were cubes of marinated tofu, and there wasn't much of it. Given that tofu and rice are both cheap, the cost of that dish was pretty outrageous. And speaking of outrageous costs, the fancy drinks were priced astronomically high. The menu is written in a small font and is hard to read, especially given the dim lighting in the restaurant. I had to use my iPhone to take pictures of it, so I could magnify the photos on my screen. The water carafes are impractical. They have very long, thin necks, which means you can't put ice in them -- and they tend to block your view of other people sitting at the table. They don't hold much water, so you have to keep asking the server to refill them. And the water glasses are too small. The restaurant really needs to get bigger (but squatter) carafes that hold ice, and they need better water glasses. If you're not especially hungry and money is no object, then maybe Easy Sailor is right for you. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

If you aren't a Tiki connoisseur you should still check it out for their unique take at South Asian and East Asian cuisine. The drinks are stellar. Very refreshing and smooth. Gotta remind yourself to go easy on them or you might find yourself very drunk very soon. The food is good. I wish some of the dishes came with the option to have a side of rice instead of ordering it separately. The mood, aesthetic and vibes hit you right including the decor and lighting. Take a moment to look around and above you to appreciate the art and craft mounted on the walls. Even the wallpapers contribute to the Tiki vibe. It's well done. Sean took care of us the whole time we were there. He is so warm, welcoming, patient and ready to give you suggestions from the menu based on what you need. Importantly Sean is attentive and makes sure your specific needs are taken care of. As for Drinks, Mai Tai- 4/5 It was a pretty well balanced Mai Tai. It is a strong smooth drink. Sherrykiller- 4/5 I liked the balance of flavors and how the sours managed to hold their own in this drink. Boomslang Fang- 4.5/5 Another smooth yummy drink. The flavors complement each other. Boozy Shipless- 4/5 Well presented. Tropical flavors through and through which I loved. I was not a fan of the garnish on top at first but it grew on me eventually. Now the food, We started with Sesame Garlic Brussels sprouts. 4/5 for that dish. Beautiful flavor. Well roasted sprouts. Coconut Sticky Rice- 5/5 Perfect rice. Well made. Well presented. The salty and the sweet flavors have wonderful chemistry. The rice was the right amount of fluffy and soft. Mandarin Tea Chicken- 4/5 Very yummy. Chicken was wonderful. I wish it came with rice and had more lean white meat as it seemed that it had more fatty dark meat. Jaffna Shrimp Curry- 4/5 Wonderful dish. The shrimp was well made. Perfectly cooked. The lentils could be more softer. The sauce was beautiful and combined all aspects of this dish perfectly. I'm not sure what leaves they used for garnish. I hoped to see curry leaves in there given the South Asian roots of this dish but alas they weren't there. Nonetheless it was a wonderful meal.

We thought we'd give Blvd Grill a shot. I would categorize Blvd Grill as a sports bar, as there was a row of TVs above and around the bar showing the games of local interest (Jets and Bills games). My wife and I aren't big sports fans, and we sat at a small casual table along the wall for dinner. The bar area, including high top tables was very busy with people obviously enjoying themselves, but there were plenty of available small dining tables for 2-6 people. TL;DR We were pleasantly surprised. In spite of the casual appearance, the food and drink were excellent. My wife ordered a glass of Riesling, which was semi-dry (I would actually peg right in the middle between dry and sweet) and was very smooth without that slight bite some Rieslings can have. I ordered a Blue Moon on tap. They had a small number of basic and IPA brews available. Not a large, but a reasonable selection. For dinner my wife ordered the Chicken French, which is one of her favorite dishes. She cooks this dish herself frequently, and is quite critical of how this dish is prepared when we go out. In this case, she was very pleased with it. I ordered a pesto cod dish that was on the menu. I found the cod tender and the dish overall very tasty without being overdone in flavor or cooking. As others have mentioned, the food isn't cheap, although on this particular night they were selling wings at $1/ea, but we didn't order wings. The main courses were in the $20-$30 range. Honestly, though, we've eaten at some higher end restaurants recently and Blvd Grill had them beat in terms of food quality in this case. The service was good. Our waitress was a young lady who was courteous and efficient. Maybe the food and service quality vary depending on the day or night, but based on our single experience, we'd definitely visit Blvd Grill again.
