Utterly disappointed by the professionalism at this facility. I book a trial pack class, started with my first day in the introductory class. I drove over an hour from the far south suburb, only to be told that due to being 2 mins late (literally class started at 11am I walked in at 11:02am) I can not come into the class. There was no prior correspondence of this information. I no longer wish to have my trial course, and would not consider lessons at this specific facility any longer due to the service I was given today. I am a person who likes trying new things at least once. So, I decided to take kickboxing class. It was my first time and I was very nervous (all the what ifs were spinning my head). I guess it showed when I walked through the door because I was asked right away if it was my first time or if I needed any help. After I was given all the needed information and purchased my hand wraps ($10 and glows are provided for free) it was time to start a class. Evan happened to be our trainer and he was great! (I took Saturday class at 1:15pm). He paid attention to every participant helping, explaining and motivating when needed. Also, he made sure you'll get best out of this work out. Well, what can I say after all? Was my butt kicked before? Yes! What was is in this kind of way? Not really. It was the most intense full-body workout that I've experienced. Shady billing practices. Beware of signing up for a membership at this location. My wife was recently billed following a period of billing freezes due to COVID. She was given zero notice outside of a generic blast email saying billing would resume (very easy to overlook). The owner refuses to refund her nearly $100 dollars even though she has not and will not be using the facility or any sort of membership benefits for the foreseeable future. She cancelled her membership after speaking with the owner, but he would not give back the monthly membership fee, despite the current circumstances with COVID being so challenging for so many people. Stay away from this owner is our advice. This isn't how you do business. read more

I had such a good experience! I by no means am someone who works out all the time. My friend loves the boxing classes here and encouraged me to try it out. The first class is free (which is also appealing). You just need to bring $10 to buy wraps (which are yours to keep). I was greeted enthusiastically by Evan (the instructor) and since I was early he even gave me some tips and helped me with my form before class. The boxing class itself was very challenging, but I loved how encouraging he was and it made me want to try harder. I enjoyed the challenge so much that I ended up buying a six pack class afterwards. Yeah it's not cheap, but I really am ready to make a change and feel comfortable with doing this form of activity to make it. I'm going to try the kickboxing next. Sidenote: The parking meters don't start until 8:00am, so if you take an early morning class like I did your in luck cause theirs tons of free parking. read more

I was really scared to start boxing. I heard that this place was great so I signed up to come in for a class, but I was hesitant. I thought it was going to be too intense and was nervous that the trainers would be very demanding and that I would not be able to keep up. I have now been to 5 classes and am obsessed! First of all, the gym is gorgeous and super clean which is always a plus. Secondly, I love the trainers and the staff. They are so good about keeping you up beat and smiling and they are fantastic at teaching all levels within one class. I have learned so much in only a few classes and I am already feeling super toned, especially in my core! I also love the format- the 15 minute warm up is challenging but the boxing at 3 minute intervals makes the class fly by and makes me feel like I can do anything the instructor gives me. I am so happy I am a member now and am so excited to see the results in a few months! read more

My new favorite workout! I started going to Title through ClassPass, and now I can't stop! I even just bought my own pair of boxing gloves. I really had no idea what to expect in a boxing class when I first started. I walked in, checked in my name, and told them it was my first time. You need boxing wraps, and they conveniently sell them for $10 a pair. The first person I talked to about it being my first time wasn't helpful - she handed me the wraps and that's about it. I asked another employee if she could help me wrap, and she was more than happy to - she even gave me a run down of the class structure and showed me where everything was in the gym. So thank you to her!! Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. The class itself is so fun and challenging, and having energetic instructors really help! The first portion is 15 minutes of warm up (lunges, squats, etc), then 8 rounds of hitting the bags, then a core workout. If you want to continue taking boxing classes, I would bring your own gloves. These gloves are worn out and reallllly smelly. That would be the downside of the gym that I feel they can do a better job with sanitation. But overall I've been recommending all my friends to try out a boxing class at Title! read more

Tried my first (ever) kickboxing class here via ClassPass and, boy, was I impressed. I was welcomed and set up with everything I needed for class (had to buy wraps for $10 since I didn't have my own). I can't remember the instructors name, but he had A LOT of great energy and was super motivating throughout the entire class which I really appreciated seeing as it was my first kickboxing rodeo. They also had free lockers, bathroom access, fountain water, and water for purchase as well. My ONLY (and I mean only) complaint would be the smell of feet every now and then. I know people get sweaty, it's a gym, etc. but at some points during the workout the smell literally hit me in the face and it was distracting. But past that, everything was great. I wasn't to thank the staff at Title for making my first experience so enjoyable! read more

If I had an option to select zero stars I would. I started my membership in January with a free one day trial. Upon leaving the owner asked how I heard about them and I let him know off Google from a past Groupon. I did not intend or ask to receive that Groupon as it was expires. On the spot he offered me the discounted rate (I did not ask for this) if I prepaid in full. Unfortunately this so called favor bit me in the butt when I found out I was pregnant three weeks later. What was not explained to me is that this is 100% non refundable if you pay in full. But if I paid month to month then I could have cancelled. I have a broken L4 and scoliosis so my pregnancy from the start was high risk. My doctor wrote a note stating I was not able to participate in Kickboxing while I was pregnant. All I got from the owner was that I could transfer this to someone else's name or he would put it on hold once I delivered. As a man this sounds like a wonderful recommendation but returning to kickboxing after delivering with a bad back most likely will not be an option for me. So now $800 later i've paid for a membership that I can no longer use. I tried to contact corporate but Title Boxing only give's you the option to contact the owner of that franchise which is this case was someone who clearly is only in this to make money. I run a business and would NEVER in a million years treat one of our customers this way. I'd recommend trying a facility that is more understanding & DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE. I plan to tell everyone local business owner, friend and organization in Chicago about this incident so others don't have to go through this. In 2015, I moved back to Chicago. I previously had been a member at a Title Boxing in Indianapolis and found the first type of exercise that I truly enjoyed. When deciding on a gym in Chicago, I immediately looked for the closest Title Boxing. Similar to the Indy club, the classes at the West Loop were top notch. But perhaps more importantly, the club atmosphere is far more welcoming. Graham the owner and JB the manager are both incredibly approachable, friendly and receptive to feedback. At the end of every class, I leave feeling accomplished and de-stressed. I was never athletic growing up and I'm hardly a "gym rat", but I absolutely love going to boxing classes at Title. Last year, I decided I wanted to share my love for boxing with some of the middle schoolers at the school I lead. Graham and JB were super helpful with planning the trip and giving my kids a VIP experience, where they learned about a healthy way to release anger and stress. If you haven't tried a boxing class before, I'd highly recommend it - regardless of your fitness level. This is my favorite fitness studio in Chicago. They offer both boxing and kickboxing classes, in the 60 and 75 minute format. If you're a beginner, I'd recommend starting off with a boxing class, getting there 15 minutes earlier, and learning how to tie your wraps and a few basic moves. The front desk staff is super helpful and always make you feel welcome. Wraps and gloves are available for a fee, but I highly recommend getting your own because the gloves smell really funky. The instructors all have their own distinct personalities, but JB, Evaristo, and Evan have the best jams, are the most hands on, and ensure really intense workouts. The 60 minute classes are totally structured so that you have a 15 minute warm-up, followed by 8 rounds of boxing and active recovery, and you wind down with 15 minutes of core exercises and a few minutes of stretching. Lockers are available and there are conveniently situated water fountains. There are no changing rooms but the bathrooms are really spacious. Been here a few times and finally decided to join. I have to say I'm pretty excited about my decision. The folks running this gym are amazingly nice (and genuine). If you're debating on joining a boxing/kickboxing gym this ones great for all levels. The one hour long classes are framed as "boxercise" so they are heavy-cardio based classes that incorporate the 101 basics of boxing (or kickboxing) as a workout. The first 15 minutes of class are boot camp style exercises (think lunges, squats, burpees, etc.), the next 30 minutes is cardio boxing, then the last 15 minutes is more boot camp style exercises focused on abs. The time flies by because the workout is so intense and I always burn around 800+ calories per class (I wear a Polar torso band and Garmin wrist heart rate monitors and both have calculated that every class.) I have been kickboxing for over a year now at a similar gym that recently closed and ready to "step up" my technique with the private lessons Title offers at a discount for members. The classes are a killer work out that's always different, 7 days a week and tons of times to choose from, it would be really hard to find an excuse not to go! read more

I have been a member at Title Boxing Club for the past year and a half - though out in the burbs. I work downtown, and thought I'd change up my own routine of both going home, and going to the gym, and exercise routine in general. Last Friday I visited this new location to take a class here as this location is just a little over a mile from where I work, and a short walk to Union Station. For starters, this place is clean...I was impressed as soon as I walked through the door. Both the owner of this location and trainer I had on Friday were both super friendly and I enjoyed my time there. I hope to return at least once a week to keep the change in my routine. The owner really takes pride in this place! The classes here are run like the other Title Boxing Clubs - 15 minute warm up, 8 rounds of boxing (you're done when the clock hits the 9th round), each round is 3 minutes with a minute of active rest in between, and the last 15ish minutes is dedicated for core. This is a full body workout. This is the perfect place if you need accountability and get bored going to your regular gym and spending time on a treadmill or elliptical because I did that for years and that routine bored me to tears. For those who are uncertain of group exercise classes, this isn't your typical group class either. The trainer will take you through the entire class step by step, it's not a class where you're thrown in and have to learn or catch up to everyone like a zumba or step aerobics class. There are both boxing and kickboxing classes and the schedule indicates what is going on on each day and the trainer schedule at this club changes weekly so there is always variety. You will not get bored here, classes run 7 days a week, there are different trainers and each has their own style and technique and classes are forever changing. You will not take two identical classes ever. You will burn a ton of calories doing this routine...you will also feel yourself improve over time and it's just an amazing feeling! I am trying to lose about quite a bit of weight and think the treadmill is just monotonous. A girlfriend brought me to Title Boxing West Loop. With the first class free, I figured I had nothing to lose (but weight). I was worried about feeling intimidated, but I was impressed! The classes are super diverse (men, women, young, old, pros, newbies). You can go at your own pace, you can sit out certain exercises, and you won't pressure to go harder than you feel comfortable. The gym is super clean, the owner is amazingly welcoming, and the trainers are all enthusiastic. They put their own spins on every workout and make the hour fly by! I came to class with friends and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I loved how class was both challenging from a strength and cardio perspective, we all felt very accomplished afterwards (and two days later as my calves and abs still hurt). Class breaks down like this: - 15 minutes cardio warm up - jumping jacks, jumping rope, etc. changing every minute (was harder than it sounds!) - 30 minutes boxing - 3 minutes of punching and 1 minute "active" rest 8 times - 15 minutes core strengthening - curls, some gluts, etc. Everyone at the gym was super nice/welcoming and the instructor had a ton of positive energy. This place is excellent, and provides the same high quality workout that Title is known for. Apparently having a Title membership means you can take classes at other Title gyms, so I took advantage of that and dropped in on a Tuesday morning class. My instructor Natalia was friendly and provided clear instructions on how to do each movement. Gym is incredibly clean with plenty of room to move around your bag. I would highly recommend taking the earlier classes if you can just because there are fewer people coming in at 5:30 am, and thus it's less crowded and you get your choice of which heavy bag you want. I've been wanting to get into boxing for awhile and finally filled the plug and tried TITLE Boxing. I was really impressed with the class and definitely got a great workout. I definitely want to box again! The facility was nice and clean and everything was easy to find. My complaint is that when you start, the website is very misleading and the schedule is incorrect. First, the class I signed up for said it was 60 minutes, but when I called in to make sure I had signed up correctly they said it was actually 45 minutes. Second, the hand wraps. On the website it says you can bring your own (proof/picture attached). In addition, when I called in the woman I spoke to said I could bring my own hand wraps or buy them for $12 there. I went online and bought my own for a cheaper price to prep for class, but when I got there a different woman made me buy wraps from TITLE even though I explained to her that I was told differently. She said the other woman made a mistake, but I guess I was hoping she'd honor what was said since I had my brand new hand wraps with me. It's not the biggest deal in the world paying $12 for hand wraps, but it was annoying when the website says you can bring your own and therefore, I had already purchased my own. I wanted to make this review for anyone else going in for the first time - you'll have to buy them there unless you become a member (that's what the woman told me). If you're a member then you can bring your own wraps, but when you first start you have to buy their wraps. Well...I have waited after several weeks to leave my review. I am here to announce....this place is as AWESOME as everyone else says. First, I started using Title after I bought a GILT deal. As soon as I bought it, Chaly (trainer) texts and welcomes me and answers any and all questions I had. My first 2 classes, the trainers super friendly and helped me with showing me how to wrap my hands. Wraps can be purchased there for $10. They provide the gloves for free. I bought shin guards off amazon because my pale skin bruises easily. The classes are awesome, 15 min warm up/core, 30 min of 8 rounds pounding sessions, 15 min of core to end. You sweat buckets! The evening classes are packed but I have never been when there is absolutely no room to accommodate me. Here are my faves: Natalia- she is my favorite!! She is so energetic and encouraging. Her routine is well planned out and varies so you won't get bored. I love that she focuses on giving us a booty with her many squat exercises. She is just great but she fills in for the other trainers sometimes and isn't a regular trainer :( WHYYYYYY NOTTTT?!?!? I wish she was!!! Arthur - Awesome! Very friendly. Comes around and spars (am I using that term correctly? LOL) with you. Core exercises are intense and I like it! Chaly- cool but sometimes his combos or sequences are out of my league and too advanced, but I try and keep up b/c I am no quitter!!! :) JB- I like his class. I have only been to 1 but I could follow his sequences and he had a fun core exercise at the end. Anyone I didn't list is because I haven't taken their class yet but I will soon. I really like this place I like feeling a sense of camaraderie with the other participants. We are all trying to burn calories and have fun, I love it! I've been consistently coming here for about 3 months now and have never been disappointed. I was working out at a typical gym for over 10 years now and honestly got bored of it. It became too routine. I decided to try a free class at Title Boxing and I loved it so I joined along with a handful of friends. It's a lot of fun and super challenging. You can work at your own pace and can always pick up the pace of you feel like you aren't being challenged anymore. The owner and the instructors are superb. They are very personable. They bring it every class and go out of their ways to challenge you. The music is on point and it really gets you going, especially when Julian is teaching. I've gotten in terrific shape since I joined. I highly recommend everyone at least take a free class and see what it's all about. read more

I am obsessed with this gym. The first time I came, I was extremely nervous. I had no boxing experience and wasn't super familiar with the neighborhood. I walked in and JB (one of the trainers) greeted me so enthusiastically and made me feel at home right away! He wrapped my hands for me, taught me some basics, and made me feel much less nervous before class. First, the classes are the best workout classes I have ever taken. Every time I sweat buckets worth but never even notice it because of how much fun I am having. They blast the music, change up the workouts, throw in circuits in between rounds, and end with an amazing ab workout. I have had a multitude of instructors and each one is truly so encouraging, helpful, and amazing at what they do. I have so much fun here. Another thing I love about Title is that the classes include all levels, and they still manage to challenge all levels. Whether you are a cold beginner, intermediate, or advanced, you will leave having one of the most amazing workouts of your life here (burns about 1000 calories per hour class). Additionally, the atmosphere is wonderful! It is absolutely spotless and well kept. The equipment is top notch, it's spacious but still feels intimate and exclusive, and the neighborhood is a gem! I never knew how uncoordinated I was until I tried kickboxing for the first time yesterday. Which leg and arm do I use? What's a jab and cross? Pivot what?!? Jokes aside, this place is awesome, even for beginners such as myself! We walked in and were greeted by the two women at the front desk. We didn't have wraps for our first class so we bought them onsite for $10. One of the women helped us wrap our hands and took her time on explaining how to do it. Class started on time and consisted of a warm up, eight kickboxing rounds, and a core workout. We were already sweating after the warm up, which felt like a HITT routine. I was super slow on the kickboxing section due to, y'know, being a noob. Arthur, the instructor, would walk around and help as many students as he could, which was great! The core workout was definitely the most difficult in my opinion. Never knew how weak my abs were. Hopefully with more lessons my coordination will improve and punching/kicking properly will become second nature. Do not be intimidated. If a flailing crazy like myself can do it, anyone can lol. The instructors and staff are welcoming and there seems to be a good mix of people at varying skill levels. Useful info: - You can borrow gloves if you do not own a pair. - Lockers are provided near the waiting area. You need to bring your own lock though. - Street parking - Classes are booked online by making an account. Your first class is free. - They have monthly and annual memberships. I'm new to the neighborhood, and like a kid in a candy store, I'm trying out all the different fitness spots in town! Your first class here is FREE. No Groupon required. No Livingsocial required. No Yelp deal required. It's FREE.. Except you have to buy $10 grips. Okay so it's $10, but I feel guilty getting something completely for free anyways. And the staff will help you wrap your wraps around your hands too, because they know you're clueless. I attended an 11:30 AM class on a week day, and the class was surprisingly healthily filled. 2/3 of the group was comprised of women, 1/3 men. Way to kick gender norms in the butt ladies! This was my first time ever putting on boxing gloves. I felt like Rocky for all of 10 seconds (Why isn't "Eye of the Tiger" playing?!), before succumbing and being humbled by their hour-long workout. The first 10 minutes you think okay, this isn't so bad. But then the punching and kicking and kneeing and elbowing combinations really wear you down. In a good way of course. The next day, my entire body was sore, especially my latissimus dorsi/side back muscles from all of the jabs and upper cuts. I will definitely consider coming back in the future, after trying out all the other fitness spots! read more

Beyond 5 stars for Title, it's awesome! Graham (the owner) and the entire staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The instructors do a great job guiding new members to achieve a good workout without feeling overwhelmed but at the same time keeping the veterans (like myself) working harder than ever. Every workout is intense and fun. It's a great cardio blast and you burn tons of calories! If you're looking to get in shape and have fun doing it, I'd recommend Title 100%. I've been a member of Title Boxing for a little over two years; I've gotten some of the best workouts of my life from this place. If you stick with it, you'll see the amazing transformation of your body, strength and technique. It's a great all-body workout; they focus on cardio, boxing technique and strength training. I'm someone who has always dreaded the hour-long workout-drag. The psychology of having the class broken up into "rounds" makes the time fly by! It never feels like an hour. One of the most commendable aspects of this gym is that you can join at any level. I had zero technique/experience....I had never hit a bag in my life. But the staff is accommodating, encouraging, friendly, funny and will work with you to build the foundation and technique. As a gym cynic and workout class nay-sayer, this place has definitely changed my tune! Julian, JB and Chaly are some of the biggest teddy bears you'll ever meet....who could also kick your ass! :) Owner, Graham, is also very friendly and laid-back! My only gripe is that they do not have showers; I'd love to come for a midday workout, but I'm forced to come after work every day since I have no means to de-stink after class! :) Otherwise, this place is great for a daily workout! read more

His class is pretty intense whole body workout and always makes me sweat a lot. Since I cut my cardio recently, boxing/kickboxing is the only cardio I'm doing right now, the result is still pretty good. I'm an original member of Title Boxing in Naperville (originally Rt 59 location) and was excited to hear about the new locations opening up in the city. I met with the managers of the West Loop location on my first visit and they're very friendly. I love how clean and new this studio is and Julian and JP are excellent instructors. I decided to try out a kickboxing class after seeing it as an option on Classpass and reading the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to read that so many females attend the gym. As others have mentioned, the owner and instructors are so nice. They made me feel completely welcome and taken care of as a first timer and I loved the class. I felt like a total bad ass and know I burned a ton of calories. The class really held my attention and all I could do was think about how I could fit more Title boxing in my life. It's a 10 minute drive from my house, but totally worth it. I wish there as one in Wicker Park/Bucktown, as I'd probably drop Classpass for full-time Title Boxing, but in the meantime, I'll definitely make the trip to go back to take more classes! I've already told about 5 friends about it and can't wait to return. read more

Everyone is very friendly. I always hesitate to go, but have never regretted going after the workout is done. At first, I thought the place was a little bit pricy (including the fact that I had to pay my second time activation fee although I already did when I signed up to be a member of the other Title Boxing Club in suburbs couple years ago..), but I think it was worth to pay money because it somehow motivates me to go ! haha :) Also, it is always good to have a instructor coaching you what to do compared to going to a gym alone and trying to organize your own exercise routine. read more
