The owners Shawn was so incredibly helpful & knowledgeable. He came to inspect our property the next day. We pulled our permits as "owner builder" which was a hard project, but got through it pretty well. However, I had trouble understanding what this report was all about. Shawn totally gave me the rundown on how it worked, sharing so much information with me so I was able to comprehend what was needed. We had a lil hiccup with our report, it required our plans to be modified, which he took the extra steps to help us overcome. After a long season of working with many tradesmen, handymen, other workers, inspectors, ect.... I'm grateful to have had Shawn see us over the finish line. One of our air conditioning units went out over the weekend. We called Rowland on Monday, had a…read moretechnician (Nick) out on Tuesday, who found a leak in the system, stated we needed to replace the unit, and then on Thursday, a whole team (Gerbert, Jovoni, and Jonathan) were out and installed the Unit and a new thermostat on Thursday. At all times, the entire experience was great--Nick presented multiple options and seemed genuine in helping us figure out the right unit for the right price. Then, on Thursday (after fearing it would be an "all day" project), the team of Gerber, Jovoni, and Jonathan made quick work of the installation (both a new A/C unit and a new Furnace), starting just before 8:00 a.m. and finishing around Noon. At all times, the team was respectful and shared useful information so we could plan our day accordingly. The unit worked great immediately after installation and we're very happy so far. Considering how hot it has been, these guys were life-savers.

They then called me again to confirm before sending a confirmation text without clarifying that my reference number was the same as my permit number, so I had to ask about it. After all this confirming, you'd think my appointment would be set, but no: I got a call on the wrong date saying that the inspector was coming in a couple of hours, so I texted iPermit to notify them of the error but received no reply. Thus, I had to find the inspector's number on the city website and call him myself. Why even bother with iPermit? Bottom line: What should have been a simple matter of making an appointment and a quick inspection turned into a fiasco of constant phone calls and texts, and added so much stress to an already very stressful time of year.

That's where it ended. I was given a 3 hour window for their arrival. I have tenants and they were going to be in and out so I waited at my home for the technician to call and say that they were on the way, so I could head over. I sat for hours waiting and when the window was almost over, the technician called and said he was stopping for lunch. I certainly don't want to deny someone food when they're hungry, but this caused him to finally show up :40 past the end of the window, which messed up the rest of my afternoon work obligations. He performed the test quickly and then said he was going to his truck to get my paperwork and would be back in :10. He was gone for almost :30. He asked my preference for dates for them to schedule the final inspection with the city. He said someone from their office would call to let me know the date and time range. That never happened. I called their office TWICE and after being on hold for :10 both times, it went to voicemail. I left voicemails with very specific info but no one ever called back. I had to troll around the city website and finally found my address listed with an appointment for the following day. Good thing I searched. Absolutely zero instructions or time specifics and while I realize this was a city thing, iPermit were the ones who should have provided me the specifics. Run, don't walk away from this company, if given a choice.
