The owners Shawn was so incredibly helpful & knowledgeable. He came to inspect our property the next day. We pulled our permits as "owner builder" which was a hard project, but got through it pretty well. However, I had trouble understanding what this report was all about. Shawn totally gave me the rundown on how it worked, sharing so much information with me so I was able to comprehend what was needed. We had a lil hiccup with our report, it required our plans to be modified, which he took the extra steps to help us overcome. After a long season of working with many tradesmen, handymen, other workers, inspectors, ect.... I'm grateful to have had Shawn see us over the finish line. The recommendation I received was to either spend $4,000-$5,000 on refrigerant and possible diagnostics, with no guarantee the problem would be resolved, or replace my entire HVAC system. I was initially quoted between $50,000 and $70,000 for a full replacement. After I explained that I couldn't afford that, the quote was reduced to around $30,000 by removing the heating portion, even though the heating system was never the problem. That large price difference made me question the recommendation. Wanting a second opinion, I had another company come out. They quickly diagnosed the issue, repaired it the same day, and my AC has been working perfectly ever since. Two other HVAC companies also agreed that my system still has plenty of life left and did not need to be replaced. While I appreciated Hugo's professionalism, I left feeling like the focus was on selling a replacement system rather than exhausting reasonable repair options first. Based on my experience, I would recommend getting multiple opinions before committing to a major HVAC replacement.

That's where it ended. I was given a 3 hour window for their arrival. I have tenants and they were going to be in and out so I waited at my home for the technician to call and say that they were on the way, so I could head over. I sat for hours waiting and when the window was almost over, the technician called and said he was stopping for lunch. I certainly don't want to deny someone food when they're hungry, but this caused him to finally show up :40 past the end of the window, which messed up the rest of my afternoon work obligations. He performed the test quickly and then said he was going to his truck to get my paperwork and would be back in :10. He was gone for almost :30. He asked my preference for dates for them to schedule the final inspection with the city. He said someone from their office would call to let me know the date and time range. That never happened. I called their office TWICE and after being on hold for :10 both times, it went to voicemail. I left voicemails with very specific info but no one ever called back. I had to troll around the city website and finally found my address listed with an appointment for the following day. Good thing I searched. Absolutely zero instructions or time specifics and while I realize this was a city thing, iPermit were the ones who should have provided me the specifics. Run, don't walk away from this company, if given a choice.
