My wife saw this exhibition & booked us. I'm glad she did!
I am a history buff. So it was fascinating to see how this interactive video presented the 1912 sinking of the RMS Titanic. It really brought to life for us.
The two story exhibit started with pictures and exhibits of item from the ship & depictions in popular culture. As we walked through the exhibit, clever stagecraft design would depict the hallways, passenger accommodations, and, yes, the grand staircase people remember from the 1997 movie. (Oh, for the fans of the movie, there is recreation of the main deck's bow if you want to reenact the "king of the world" scene.)
The second floor continued the exhibits. For VIP ticket holders and those paying extra, there was a cool amazing immersive experience using VR googles to see a recreation of the ship in 1912 and a "deep dive" to the Titanic's resting place. (No crush depth worries for virtual dive.) At one point, my wife & I got disoriented -- I almost lost my balance -- but a staff member was attentive & talked us through it. Tip: if you find that happening, either lift the VR googles or close your eyes for a moment.
Finally, given the tragedy of the event, I found the presentation engaging, educational, entertaining, and, yet, respectful to those who perished & those who survived.
Note: This exhibit will be in Baltimore for about six more months, through summer of 2026. Catch it if you have a chance. read more
