I'll definitely return for another gallery visit (the exhibits/shows change all the time)! But Eubie Blake is more than a gallery, even during COVID times! It offers live music (Eubie Live!), classes, and events. It's not very clear to me what they're doing right now during COVID, and their website isn't great at providing information about their hours or how to visit (I wasn't sure, for example, if you needed to have a pre-selected time to visit the galleries during COVID or not - the answer is no). If you happen by and they're open, stop in! There's some really great art in those galleries! I hope to return for some jazz sometime soon!

During first Friday the gallery owners offer wine and feature a different artist. This gallery is perhaps the biggest one of all and Felicia really loves local diverse artists and celebrates all her shows via a mannequin in a gown with all the shows she's had for 10 years. The show I most recently went to on a Saturday was featuring Pothik Chatterjee - his first solo show: Black Butterfly: Queer Brown Magic. Felicia offered us eggnog - delightful sweet with a chocolate chaser. There's a downstairs and an attached gallery with Zweibach creations who makes historical paintings and puzzles and puzzle cards! Currently the prices are too high for me but I did buy some puzzles and cards for the holidays. But if you're a patron of the arts this gallery won't disappoint with the amazing local artists featured here.

This young woman went to bathroom and I over heard thee worst, most unprofessional conversation about her. They commented on her size, clothing, intelligence and "in ability to afford clothing". I can't believe I witnessed such abuse in the work place. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ANYONE that would treat an employee like that. Awful. Know who you're buying from.

Bottom Line: A small museum but worth a stop if riding on a streetcar sounds like fun…read more I think vintage streetcars are neat and I'm always intrigued by off-the-beaten-path museums so the Baltimore Streetcar Museum was a perfect stop for me this past weekend. Even better, they were having "dollar days" so admission was only $1. The museum is small and underwhelming but the ride on a historic streetcar was super fun! Actually, the museum has three streetcars from different eras and you can ride all of them if you'd like. The conductor on our streetcar was knowledgeable and entertaining. I liked that he rang the bell every time someone boarded just as the conductor would have done back in the day. Even better, after we rode out to the turnaround point he stopped the streetcar and without saying anything, got up from his seat and switched the signs on the front and sides of the car that stated the route/destination. This was funny because the streetcar rides on a closed track and it probably only goes about one mile before turning around. It was at this point in our journey that he also told us the history of streetcars. This museum is small but it is a neat experience and it represents the dedication of many volunteers so I must give a shout out to those who make this place possible. Thanks for keeping history alive in Bal'mor.

The exhibit is quite interesting and shows how Baltimore's long-defunct streetcar system helped shape the city into what it is today. They offer frequent rides on multiple streetcars throughout the day on their 3/4 mile track that are included in the $10 admission. The day I visited there were 3 streetcars operating, one about 75 years old, another about 115, and another almost 125 years old. One of the streetcars broke down en route (ironically the ~75 year old PCC which was relatively the newest) but to the staff's credit they were able to improvise a clever solution involving sticking a screwdriver into the gear box to get it running again so we didn't have to walk back to the museum. The people working here really know their stuff about these machines! Overall highly recommend, it's very friendly for both adults and kids. Only thing to note is it's only open on Sundays from noon-5PM
