Josh came out to look at our leaky sky light situation. We discussed some patch work we did several…read moreyears ago and he said we did a really good job. The problem was the sky light was not installed properly and caused leaks. The heat and sun has dried our caulk and cracks have formed. Caulking like we did before would be necessary when new leaks form. We wanted his thoughts and appreciate his honesty. He did not try to sell us something we did not need but explained the situation so we could understand. We look for contractors that are knowledgeable and honest and he rocks. We would highly recommend him.

RRG posted a response to my roofing review addendum. Their latest response: "Let it be known that…read morethe customer told us not to return to their property to address concerns..." completely contradicts their original response: "We did return to address some concerns they voiced as we always do anytime there is an issue." RRG's contradictory statements demonstrate their lack of honesty and integrity. Their inability to maintain a consistent story exposes the unreliability of their claims. I have always said that RRG did return to our property for some repairs after the original job: 7/15 for additional nail sweeping; 7/18 for shingle caulking; 8/6 to reopen the roof, repair broken plywood, replace three lines of shingles, and replace the ridge vent; and 8/22 to replace a damaged gutter. There were other times our salesman, J***, also came to our property for reasons such as gutter measurements. However, the big issue RRG refused to take responsibility for was critical structural repair. A tornado felled a tree directly across the ridge beam, destroying it and requiring repair. This obligation was explicit in the contract; a roof cannot function without solid structural support. Yet, that structural repair was deliberately left unperformed. RRG didn't even pull the required permit. Why? They aren't a fledgling company. RRG's latest response also states they were "ready and willing to correct the issues," but this further contradicts their previous responses: "Customer claims were unsubstantiated and uninformed" "Examples provided are erroneous and do not represent the job accurately... our methods were proper""We did not leave unfinished or substandard work" "This customer will obviously say what they want to put us in a negative light." Again, RRG can't keep their story straight. RRG, incredibly, then went on to state that we remain dissatisfied, which again lacks credibility. The only follow up we received from them was one short text, sent by an RRG employee, referring to the entire debacle as an "oversight." In their latest response, RRG then doubled down, and I quote, "we stand by our actions." That statement should scare the living daylights out of any prospective customers. RRG's tone in their latest post also makes it appear as if they expect thanks and accolades for finally finishing the job. Seriously? This was a job we had to fight for, and it had been fully paid for! The structural repair only got done because we refused to accept substandard work and escalated to the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. We have every right to our disdain and to post an honest account of how RRG handled our contract.
