Kenny, the manager, took care of it for me - sold me the batteries and replaced them both for me. When I asked him to show me how, he patiently waited while I fumbled around and followed his steps. He also pointed out why it is important to not get the circuit board in them turned the wrong way. And, he showed me the built in "work around" to use to get my car started if the battery runs out entirely in my key fob! All in all, excellent customer service! Napa castle rock had them and they were $15.99 each! Had to buy 6 so my bill was over $100 (plus $4.00 for a simple 7/8" lock washer for a separate project. Went to Walmart auto the following day and was helped by a gentleman named "Buster" I may be wrong about the name. Dark haired fellow and got me scheduled for an appointment and explained clearly and completely that I could use Walmart's synthetic and would be $58. The young man "Dillion" was the tech with the oil change. Big, bright and friendly smile and I was immediately put to ease with Dillion's obvious knowledge and expertise. He was simply Great!! I've also been forced to spend countless hours researching how to resolve this issue, filing complaints, seeking legal counsel, and wasting valuable time. I purchased a can of AC refrigerant, the clerk put it in my car and now my AC blows HOT AIR. I drove around a while, thinking maybe it needed to cycle through the system...no such luck. Went back hoping to at least get my $40 back as I know his assistence was at my own risk. NOPE, no money back and the guy was kind of a jerk about it too. My wife's car needed a brake light assembly (which had been broken in parking lot recently- not her…read morefault BTW) With the cost of new parts, I thought I'd make a few calls and see if I could get a salvage part from another car. I called several "recyclers" and was quoted prices and given advice, but after giving the gal on the phone at American the specific year, model, make and the fact that this assembly was mounted on the quarter panel I was told that yes, they did have one and was quoted a price about 30% less than a new one. Excitedly I made the trip out (about 20 miles) to the outskirts of town and went into the office and repeated what it was I needed and that I'd called the day before and was told they had exactly what I needed. The gal did her computer thing and said, why yes, they did have it but that it wasn't exactly the same, probably wouldn't be an exact match and that it was from a vehicle one model year different than mine. I agreed to go and look at it and was taken out in the back of the large salvage yard and shown the part. It wasn't a match at all and my effort, gas and time was completely wasted. I'm not sure why a business would do this. I guess some folks would put a mismatched part on their car, but I think this is the worst kind of business practice (bait and switch?) and frankly discourages people from patronizing places like this. This kind of thing does get around, but maybe it doesn't matter to American Auto Recyclers. I recommend you avoid this place at all costs. You'll be much better off.
