We normally avoid going here due to high prices and inferior quality and customer service. We went here after a long time hoping the competition from another Indian grocery store in Katy (Keemat) probably helped improve this store. But we encountered the same old experience. Take a look at the instant coffee powder which showed the price at 4.00 British pounds on the bottle and the price charged.m, a whopping of $11.99! 2-3 times more even after you take into account the currency exchange difference. Another issue related to customer service, when at the checkout, I noticed one of the mangos was bad (prices $11.99), I tried changing it with another one. Then the owner/sales clerk visibly got mad and would try to teach me the basics of commerce. It's the exact opposite experience at Keemat, both on pricing and more so from customer service perspective. Not going back here again. read more

This is the worst indian store ever! They treat their customers like they are doing us a favor! I have bought Swad Masala Banana Chips from many different indian stores and all of them have the offer - buy 2 get 1 free. These thieves charge $2.59 for Masala Banana Chips and no offer. I called Raja Foods who is the Swad distributor and he said the offer is on all Swad products at all stores. Raja Foods called KT Bombay Bazaar and had the owner refund me my money but I had to go back to the store for my refund. Today I went to buy Deep Dahi Vada and they have a sign that says "Limit 1 per family" so I asked the lady owner if that was correct that I could buy only 1 and she said that I could buy as many as I want, the sign is there for nothing. So I thought that was weird and picked up 6 Dahi Vada and 1 Eno Bottle. When I go to check out, she tells me you are only buying these items nothing else, I cannot let you buy so many Dahi Vada because there is a limit. So I told her that is why I came and asked you before I picked them up. She tells me I can only let you buy 2 and the eno, came to $7.98 then she tells me that I have to pay cash because $10 is minimum and I told her I don't have cash. She just stands there so I told her ok leave it, I left without anything! These people are thieves, shop elsewhere you will get great customer service!! These people are open thieves!! Eh... not impressed. I was visiting Katy, and I dropped in with my family to pick some snacks. They didn't seem to have a lot of varieties, and they had freezer burns in their freezer section. Also, during checkout, there was a random item scanned. Luckily, we were only checking out 4 items to notice the extra changed item, but I know I won't have caught that if I would have had a lot more items. Just make sure you're vigilant when they are scanning your items. read more

This store has mostly expired items. My wife went back and told them the items she bought had expired dates. The owener completely refused and said it's not from our store. I can't believe how one can be so disgussting. The owner is also known to overcharge on items if you don't pay attention on what you bought or what price they have marked on the shelf. read more

The samosas there are pretty awesome!! You can even call up there and they will have a fresh batch waiting for you. Has a wide selection of groceries (more so than most other Indian grocery stores). The other fresh food there is pretty solid. read more

Worst customer service. The lady (owners wife) is super rude. We had ordered rotis by phone and I went to pick it up. I crossed over to the far left corner of the store to pick up my rotis and respectfully asked her if that was where I pick up my rotis. She completely ignored me. I tried again and was ignored for second time. I came back to checkout to ask if I should be picking it up at checkout: I was asked to go back to where the lady was. The third time she would give it to me without saying a word. While searching the shelves for an item I noticed her waking by me and asked where I could find the item. She completely ignored and walked past me. The second time she came around when I asked she said she has no time to entertain my questions. With 3 Indian stores on same street I would rather go to the other 2 that tolerate her attitude. read more

The lady at the store counter is extremely rude, with a quick temper. Firstly, this store does not display price against at least half of the items on the shelves; Secondly the actual price turns out to be almost double of that in other Indian stores for same food items.On top of this, when we take the products to the counter to ask the actual price, the owner lady behaves very rudely and if by chance you decide not to buy the item with inflated price, the lady starts downright insulting you, asking why you wasted her time and ordering you angrily to keep the items back on shelf even if you try to explain to her that you were going to keep the items back anyway. Then she keeps muttering and eyeing you suspiciously till you have left the store. Never have I ever experienced such a bad customer service - I am not returning to this store again! read more

Recently expanded into a much bigger shop. They have a great selection of freah fruits and vegetables, as well as many packet mixtures for curreys. All ingredients needed to make an indian dinner can be found in this shop from spices to ghee. Feidaya thru sunday there is a snack bar in the back of the shop I hope to try next time. The shop worker was very helpful and friendly. We have been coming here for many years, and will continue to do so especially since the expansion. read more

These people (employer and employees) are not taking minimum precautions like using hand gloves and sanitizers/wipes for customers. Today that lady is asking me to buy groceries for $10. Are they insane? Whenever these people ask me to buy $10 minimum i just tell them on their face 'I don't want to buy' then go to some other store. This time these people crossed the line that's why i am writing a review. You raised prices for the most of the grocers on top of that you are demanding me to buy $10 groceries? Is this how you make money? Yesterday itself i bought grocers and today you're demanding me to buy $10 grocers minimum. Before you ask customers to buy $10 minimum try to maintain cleanliness and trash the glove after one use which you have been using it for samosas from days. I wish i could give 0 review for this insane store. Last year I bought rice from your store and that rice has bugs. If i make a list on these things, it will cross more than 10 pages. I barely go to this store. Most of the time I go to other stores. I don't recommend anyone to go to this worthless store. I don't normally go to this store due to the arrogance of the lady (owner's wife) over there but I landed at the store about 10 days after the COVID pandemic had started. Walked in and asked for disinfectant wipes. The lady looks at me like 'which planet are you from?' I then grabbed a plastic grocery bag to use as barrier between my hands and the grocery cart. She asked for it back and gave me a smaller bag. Someone else in the store noticed this incident and asked why they can't provide wipes like everyone else. At that point the lady got mad at us and muttered something in Hindi. Luckily I didn't understand a word. I'm sure they have made a year's worth of sales during a single month with folks hoarding and stocking up so I don't understand why they can't afford disinfectant wipes or even provide paper towel with some disinfectant spray. Please don't go there during this pandemic. There are other options in Katy that are taking much better precautions during this crisis. read more

I am English and new to Katy and I stumbled on this store a week ago. The store owner was very pleasant and helpful. There is everything you need to make a great Indian curry. Spices galore, fresh vegetables and a terrifically stocked frozen food section covering everything from rotis to curries to indian desserts. (The frozen Malaysian flaky parathas are melt in the mouth.) The freshly made samosas which are available to buy behind the checkout are heavenly! I found myself driving to the store a second time a couple of days ago JUST to buy the samosas. On my second visit I also discovered the freshly made chapatis and the pots of freshly made spinach & paneer curry and cauliflower and peas curry. Divine! read more

I am fairly new to the Katy area. I have shopped at other South Asian grocery stores before and have not been treated like this! I was at this store today. While waiting in line, I noticed a sign that was posted that stated that a $10 min. was required to use any card. I asked the lady in the salwar suit (the owner), who was standing behind the register, if this applied to debit cards also, and she said yes. I went back to get something additional to make it $10 or more. There was no one in line behind me. When I got back, she asked another cashier to check me out and placed on the conveyor belt, a plastic bag, and told the cashier to bag the items in that bag. The cashier was very rude! After I paid and signed the receipt, because apparently their machine does not process debit cards, she did not even hand me my part of the receipt, but left it for me to pick up. She also left the bag with the items, on the conveyor belt. She did not hand it to me, like they do in all the other stores, including other South Asian grocery stores!!! Only when I got to my vehicle, did I realize that there was moisture on the outside of the bag! This is the 2nd incident of a negative nature. The last time that I was there, upon realizing that most of the frozen items were not labeled, I asked the owner who was standing close-by, what the price was, of an item. He stated that he did not know, handed me a box of the item, and asked me to take it to the cashier for a price check! Great customer disservice!!! I had purchased the item, but only upon arriving at home, realized that the box must have for thawed during their shipment from India and them was refrozen, because the box looked like it and the content were stuck together. I know so, because I had purchased the same item before from another store, and they were not in this condition. Also, I was charged a higher price for 1 of the items that did have a label on the shelf that I had picked it up from! I will never go back to this store! There is another South Asian grocery stores in the area, at the intersection of South Mason and Winding Hollow (close to and across the street from the HEB). The owner and staff there are very nice, courteous, and actually practice customer service. read more

I have never met a more paranoid owner. I tried to take a short video to send to a friend so she could see how the store looked and what it contained and the owner started yelling at me to stop. Then I asked the name of the owner and he made up a name, pretending he was just the manager. I asked to see his sales and use tax and was going to write down the name and he wouldn't let me see it either on the wall or in front of my face. When I started to write, he snatched it away. They have very old groceries, lot of times grains contains insects because of being on shelf for too long. He only take it back if its within only 7 days. i missed that small window in a past and he refused to take it back though i was his regular customer. who the heck have 7 day return policy. Easily one of the worst stores that I have ever visited. I visited recently to buy a bag of rice which cost me 13 dollars. I went home and opened the bag only to find it filled with Bugs and Beatles! I called up the store clerk to ask for a replacement as the rice is unfit for human consumption and should be thrown away. The clerk on the call does not even speak English! I proceed to talk to him in Hindi. The clerk is refusing to come home and replace the rice giving some really lame excuses that his 'boss' is not in town! Instead of being apologetic and helpful he is replying sarcastically and arguing with me rather than admit his mistake and replace the garbage that was sold to me. He is also very rude and does not take any responsibility for the substandard, stale and bug infested rice that was sold to me. I was infuriated and almost filed a lawsuit against these scammers!! I really wonder how these guys are even doing business when their store is filled with either stale or expired products! I do not recommend this store unless you are shopping for garbage sold as groceries. I am definitely not wasting my hard earned money to buy over priced, expired and bug infested food from this store again! read more
