The first month of 2020 I bought a used Tiguan from dealer associated with cape Auto Center. Over the first few months were mostly noneventful although I did have few snags initially it came to my attention that I was sold the vehicle with no lug key so I could no remove flat tire. In the end they replaced all the locking lugs for me with regular ones a bit later my camshaft position sensor went bad. And i was surprised that now being there a 3rd time in 4 months I had a bill for half what I expected and super reasonable (but he had not been informed that I was unaware that the vehicle burnt oil and I had run dangerously low a few weeks prior. And obviously dropped it and replaced it that day. And all seemed fine. a few weeks after the camshaft sensor and I had to have my turbocharger diverter valve changed s I was getting an under boost condition ( I still do sometimes ) but still I had not told him about being low on oil..... it was about 8 moths into having the vehicle that the oil leak got BAD adding 5 Quarts in about 2000 miles .... As a direct result of added wear on seals and me not informing my mechanic ... he took vehicle in and was prepared to do rear main seal and was quoted about $800. The next day he calls me a bit let down as the part "was not the right one ", little dd I know that he was saying that it was a totally different seal.... The next day when I got my car back the cost was under half of the original estimate. And he had obviously been very generous with his time... Unfortunately, we were unaware that in 3 weeks my water pump was going to fail... and cost A LOT OF and the kicker is it would have been cheaper and easier for the both of us if those jobs were done together engine being out of the car and all.

I took my 1998 BMW 540i to this shop to diagnose a shifting issue where I couldn't get into gear…read more Instead of identifying the actual problem, they told me I needed a new clutch and flywheel, and I ended up paying around $5,000 for the repair. After waiting several weeks, I picked up the car--only to have the exact same issue happen again. When I brought it back, they blamed my E60 short shift kit, even though it's a well-documented OEM+ upgrade that countless E39 owners use without issue. Despite my skepticism, I let them reinstall the stock shift lever, and that did fix the immediate problem--but that only raises more questions. If my original shifting issue wasn't caused by the clutch or flywheel, why did they recommend and charge me for that repair? And if they knew other components were worn (such as shift detents), why didn't they replace them when they already had the transmission down? I even had a conversation with Yanis, where I asked him to clarify how the short shifter could have caused the issue, and he admitted that it was probably due to other worn components. So if they already suspected that, why didn't they address those issues while they had the transmission apart? Now I have to take the car to another shop, which will charge me around $1,500 to replace the detents--when it could have been done for $200-$400 while the transmission was already out. Beyond the cost, this was a huge inconvenience--multiple trips, long waits, and extra money spent, all because the real issue wasn't properly diagnosed the first time. I understand that diagnosing transmission issues can be complex, but at this price point, I expected better attention to detail. This shop clearly has some knowledge of German cars, but their diagnostic process is flawed, and they don't take responsibility for bad recommendations. At the very least, I would have appreciated some acknowledgment of the misdiagnosis or an offer to help make things right.

It's an old 2000 jeep with 233000 miles. He came back and bled out the coolant system that was empty, replaced a valve cover. Then worked on the steering system and said it had to be aligned. I had doubts because the vehicle was unsteerable. He waved the the charges on that. I felt bad for that but took a last ditch chance on getting the alignment done. The diagnosis said they can't even believe he did the work due to as lol the rust under the vehicle and deemed that that the vehicle is no longer safe to drive. Last Saturday, my husband, daughter and I were on the Cape for the day when we experienced a…read morepunctured tire on our car. It being a Saturday around 6PM, we quickly googled tire patching in the area and found this garage did repairs, and was supposed to be open until 9PM, which was great. When we arrived and approached the gentleman who was sitting in the station was on his cell phone. He asked how we were, my husband replied "not great" and proceeded to tell him of the situation. The response was "we have no mechanic". Ok, can you please call someone to help? (this is a local garage and I assume local employees, but I could be wrong). "No". Is there anyone open or in the area that can help? "630 on a Saturday, no." The problem was we have to drive 120 miles home on a donut, with our child in the car. Fine, we can make this work. My husband and I both know how to change a tire, and proceeded to empty the contents of the trunk onto the parking lot and changed the tire. 30 minutes later, my husband finished the change, asked me to take our daughter to the bathroom and then he wanted to clean up himself. I went back to the office and it was closed. It was supposed to be open till 9 but the man was gone. He never came up to us to offer to help or to call a tow, see how we were, if we needed anything. He just closed the shop, seeing a family working on a car in his parking lot and left without saying anything. Granted, it's not an unsafe neighborhood or anything, and we were handling the situation as best we could, but common courtesy would at least make someone check up before you left, especially a family with a young kid far from home. The other reviews that state great customer care must not have dealt with this man. He was more concerned with his phone than helping customers. We expected better of a locally owned business. No care what our situation was, no offer of help, nothing. I hope no one else ends up in a situation like that. We had some difficulty making it home, but luckily, we made it back safely.
