I came here to get a flat tire replaced, but in the end... well, didn't. The customer service was rough. We felt like an inconvenience when we called them, we felt like an inconvenience when we showed up after they told us to, we felt like an inconvenience when they called us back to tell me "someone in Portland slashed your tires" (which is, in fact, not what happened). I was surprised at all the five star reviews. And then we figured out why: they have a large sign in their store that says you'll get a discount if you leave them a favorable review on the internet. To me, that's icky. Let it happen organically, and don't prioritize customers who preemptively give you a review before their service. read more

He double booked my appointment twice and told me to make a new appointment and then got upset and told me "oh great, I have to work around your schedule" even though he double booked and I had to work around HIS schedule. Called them right before closing with a torn tire and a stuck-on lug nut... they said to drop it off despite the late hour, and by 10am the next day, they called to say the tire was replaced, and at a reasonable price, too. They even had me bring it back by after a day of driving around so they could double check if anything needed tightening/aligning after running it awhile (no charge for this). I arrived and was immediately bashed by the male tech. I bought the tires through amazon and had them sent here, I have never had any issues before this time with doing it this way and was made to feel like I was an idiot. He told me that the tires weren't here and I probably had done it wrong and had them shipped to the wrong place. Another tech came out and told the manager that the correct tires were indeed there. Then to make matters worse, the manager went out back (with the door still open so I could hear everything back there) and proceeded to to say to another tech that he is helping out a "little kid" and "holding my hand through this". For reference I am a 25 year old woman. I fully support myself and live on my own... I am NOT a "little kid" and for sure did not need him "holding my hand." I've tried really hard not to give negative reviews during covid but my experiences in the past few weeks are simply just unacceptable. About a week or so ago, my tire light was on so I brought it in to take a look. I made an appointment on the website and they did get me in on time. They advised there was nothing wrong with my tire but possibly it was the sensor giving me bad readings. Made sense and also not an immediate fix needed! Hooray! Cut to yesterday. I walked out of work and my tire was completely flat. I was able to refill it with a compressor and have continued to have to do so every 6 hours or so. Went to their website and made an appointment for 1130 this morning. I come in and the gentleman at the counter informed me they were backed up and asked if I could please come back around 4 this afternoon when they end be caught up. Now, I was not thrilled because, again, I made an appointment for a time that was open (there were some that were blocked out so I assume their system is working properly.) Additionally, I'm in this position because of their improper handling in this situation the first time. But the tire is still holding air to some degree so I agreed. I come back at 4 and I'm told they still can't fit me in. They were able to get me at 430. At which point that found a giant unfixable hole in the back of the tire. I am extremely concerned they were unable to locate this previously. How many other unsafe tires have been sent on the road because they are too busy to properly examine tires? Especially, in this case when this entire situation is because of an error that was made by this establishment originally. As much as I have appreciated their business in the past, this is a pretty big miss and an even bigger misstep in failure to correct their mistake, especially considering they have allowed me back on the road with a tire that is clearly not safe to use. read more

Called for tire swap; made a three o'clock appointment. Got there in time and before I got out of the car one of the techs was having a smoke break and gave me the stink eye. His body language reeked of disdain; maybe the fact he is overweight and smoking sitting in his pickup outside a tire shop parked where customers should be able to is his problem... He proceeds to tell me with ugly in his voice and scowled brow, "you can't park there, people drive in and out there...park over there and we'll meet you in there", as he points with his cigarette...I should have left at that moment, but I remembered it wasn't he who I spoke with on the phone; that person was polite so maybe it will work out. Nope. Waste of time...After sitting there for about ten minutes, for whatever reason they wouldn't install my two size too large tires for recommended size and their policy with the state of Maine. My vehicle being an antique makes this exempt and that the lift kit changes the stock specs...but, I didn't really argue...my main attention was how the tech who 'greeted' me outside was the tech on my tire job... I watched him approach my van, starts to toss out my new tires from the rear that made crashing noises before he decides I guess to not do the job...informs Rob the manager the 'policy story'... he so obviously didn't want to do the job, made sure he didn't have to... not a good experience. I've bought 4 sets of tires from the Boyd street location in Portland and have sent several friends there. Service was always excellent under the old manager. I just bought a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires which I could have gotten for $100 less but wanted to stay with these guys. I showed them the price on my phone but they said that was the best they could do. They are directional tires and they put one on in the wrong direction. When I came in to tell them I was met with an I don't give a sh#@ attitude and was given 2 times that I could come in the next day by a guy with zero customer relation skills. When I brought the car in for the appointment I was met buy a different guy with the same amount of customer relation skills. I guess it's time to find a place that cares about customers especially loyal ones. Go somewhere else, there are plenty of places that will take your money and not act like you they are doing you a favor. read more

I love it here. Friendly, fast, accurate, service. I could see that they pulled my car right in after I gave them the keys, which was nice to see. They run a tight ship. I was just in doing a tire switchover and it turned out that I needed to get three new tires. They rolled my tire in and explained why my old summer tires wouldn't pass inspection, instead of just telling me - which they certainly could have done. Not only that, but they fit me in for an alignment afterwards - and they showed me exactly how my tires were aligned, and why I did actually need an alignment so that my tires would have even wear and would last longer. Had TireRack order shipped here as a recommended installer. Quoted price per TireRack was $5 per for package installation. Charged me $12 per when checking out. Doubled checked when I got home, and they definitely overcharged me. Called and the manager admitted he was wrong, said he'd refund the overcharge. Bottom line, if you are having a TireRack wheel/tire package sent here be sure you know exactly what the expected charge is and print out the confirmation so you don't have my experience. read more

I made an online appointment for four tires a week prior to appointment. A couple days after making the appointment I stopped by the Riverside St Portland ME location to ensure I was all set and the ASM said I was. I arrived 15 mins early for appointment, the employee showed up at 9:17am, location supposed to be open at 9:00 am. The employee locked door, after waiting for door to be opened I walked up at 9:40 and door locked, lights on and I saw employee go into "employees only" space. I knocked and called no answer either way. I told my ride to go home and I came back at 11:00 am and still no calls answered and door locked. Bad ethics, bad business, no care for customers at all. I counted a minimum of six customers who left after I finally told myself I wasted enough of my important personal time on a Sunday morning. read more

My wife brought our RX over today to get new tires. The service team installed new tires, but when my wife picked up the vehicle all of the tire sensor alert lights were on. Two of the tires were severely overinflated, while two were slack. My wife brought the car back to have them fix the tire pressure issue and the service man argued with her. He told her to ignore the warning lights and to 'drive around for a while' to fix the issue. He completely disregarded her concerns and did not resolve her issue. I had tires shipped here from online and they installed quickly. Manager said to have tires retorqued in a few days. My spouse went in after work. She pulled in parking lot saw a tech outside smoking and not acknowledging her. She went inside to an empty office and waited 5 minutes until someone came in and asked "What do you want?" in a rude tone and she mentioned tire retorque. Guy said "yea, yea go out to your car and wait it'll be quick." She went out got in and the same tech that was on his phone came over and did the job. She came home upset almost crying at how non caring and rude the staff there was, they were not even busy either. I asked her who she spoke to inside and she said some middle aged man. The location on Riverside Drive in Portland is a joke! First of all, I bought my tires a year ago from this business and had two tires replaced by this business. I now have a third tire that needs to be replaced and I'm now tall that they won't do it which makes me wonder why they replaced the first two? The individual running the store on the Saturday inside has no customer service skills at all. I could just got him another few words, but I believe the office would not be allowed on any website. I listen to him on the phone when I first walked in and he was quite rude to the person on the phone. I'll let you continue to be rude to me and so forth. I think this corporation might want to think about what they have for employees if that's what the best they can give us.. I will also note, I called customer service at their location on Saturday at 10:30 and they are closed according to their answering machine they're supposed to be open on Saturdays so I guess that should reflect why this business is what it is today I would give it. I made an appointment online and noted that my TPMS light was staying on. I guess I wasn't clear enough that I wouldn't make an appointment to have my own air pressure checked. I walked in the the person told me they couldn't do anything for me today and I would have to make an appointment. They couldn't even scan the sensors to help diagnose if that was the issue or if the computer needed to be reset. What was the point of being able to schedule an appointment I wonder. I tried calling ahead just to be absolutely certain they could address the problem, but they never answer the phones there. This is the second time I've had a bad experience there. Tried to fix my son's tires, they told me it would be done the next day, never heard from them, called a million times, ended up driving there only to find out they hadn't gotten to his car yet as promised. The only good thing was the manager he knocked 15 dollars off, because my money was tight. The service was ridiculous. I needed a new tire, sidewall was punchered. Ok, I look out the window he's putting the tire back on after mounting and doesn't put the hubcap on, which must be put on first. I had them check the air pressure on the other tires. Asked them put them at 35 psi. One was 25, two of them were 43 and the one 34, and 2 of the valve stem caps were missing. I get on rt 95 as soon as I get 60 mph the whole front end is shaking violently, I get off exit 45 stop the Scarborough store and they can't deal with until later, finally shake was so bad I had to take the back roads to tire warehouse in Somersworth NH. The manager there took care of it right away free of charge, he didn't give me any lip. It turns out they never balanced the tire at all in Portland, the corroded old weights still there. My complaints is the service or rather complete lack of at the Portland store is a joke. It's a simple no brainier job, just do the job or customers will go elsewhere. read more

I was very happy with my experience at Tire Warehouse compared to Town Fare Tire. I needed to change one of my runflats on my vehicle. They quoted me the same price over the phone as Town Fair Tire. But unlike Town Fair they offered me a temporary tire until the order for my runflat came in. The wait was only 15 mintunes each time. They offer a 20% off discount when you check in on Yelp. Work was performed correctly right in front of me. I felt like the people were smarter and provided much better customer service then the multiple Town Fair Tire locations I've been too. Be sure to read my review onTown Fair for more comparisions of the two. But I must say way better tire service for BMWs up the road at Bill Dodge if ya willing to pay more for it. I am writing about the service I received last night. I had an appointment at 5pm, the last one of the day, which I am 100% positive contributed to my broken lug and the general incompetence that I experience. The tech only attempted removing my front passenger wheel. I have no idea what he did to my lug nuts but he broke one lug and returned my car with a closed lug nut and an open one on the broken stem. He blamed it on being frozen and coming off bad because we all know it can't be refuted. He said that the others were frozen too. Of course, I was flustered because it all happened so fast. I had a chance to think about it throughout my work day. I came home to inspect their work and know that the tech broke my lug for no reason. The supposed frozen nuts came off of my car w/ the lug wrench that comes with the vehicle. I'm a 145 lb person and only had to give 3 pushes w/ my foot to remove all 3 lug nuts that remained, that look great, and that luckily the tech did not touch. Also, he did not return my lug nuts; he put on new ones that don't fit my wrench, which again, luckily I tested, because had I gotten a flat before I can get my newly broken car fixed, I would be screwed on the side of the road thanks to Tire Warehouse. I will never recommend this place and will never go here again. It is the worst experience I've ever had and the customer service was terrible. read more

Recently tried to purchase tires, and was very displeased with their online quoting services. They quote you a competitive and reasonable price online, but when you get through the door the price increases exponentially because of "needed services". The employees even stated that they hated the website because it seemed like it was just a utility used to "get people through the door". I'm all about transparency and feel uncomfortable providing my business to a company that conducts business in that manner.
