I really wanted to like this place, but I was very disappointed. I called on a Friday about mounting and balancing 2 rear tires on my custom 3-piece Strasse Forged wheels. Manny gave me a price that I thought was fair and on par with the other shops. I showed up the next day with my tires to mount and met the owner Mark. Seemed like a nice guy and I proceeded to let him know I spoke to Manny and he had given me a price, Mark told me the price is actually more. I didn't argue the mixed pricing and let them do their job. I was the only vehicle in the shop at the time, and there were 3 guys working on my 2 tires. They seemed to be having trouble removing my tires and they were using a crowbar-type tool very rough and carelessly, during this time one of my tpms sensors popped off which I can only imagine came from that crowbar tool. Mark pushed it back and said it will be fine but those sensors are held by a small screw which had snapped, even the mechanic said it wouldn't hold...but I gave Mark the benefit of the doubt. The owner was more-less involved so I didn't imagine there would be damage to my wheels, I would think his employees would use more care around the owner. When the tires were done and mounted, I looked over the wheels and saw the white gel looking substance they use to mount tires, it was all over the lip of the wheels so I couldn't tell if there was damage. I paid the higher than quoted price and left more-less content, at least until my tpms malfunction. Because that sensor that popped off, my tpms error wouldn't clear, I'm guessing it came loose like the mechanic said and it won't send signal to the car correctly. I get home and decide to remove all the white soapy gel and that's when I noticed the nicks and dings on my lips. I was in disbelief, it was past 4pm on Saturday so I waited until Monday to show up in person and let them know I wasn't happy with the job. Mark wasn't there, I spoke with Manny which told me to text him pictures so he can forward to Mark. I sent him the pictures and told him about my tpms malfunction, he said Mark will contact me; never did. Now that you know my story, understand I wasn't expecting Mark to write me a check for the damages, but I expected more than radio silence. We work hard for what we drive, there's no reason for this to have happened. Mark needs to address these concerns with his team so they take more care mounting tires on $9k wheels. I could've gone to my usual shop to install my tires, but I wanted to give business to this new shop which was a few blocks from me. I attached pictures showing the damages, you can notice by the valve stem the nicks which is where my tpms popped off and you can see the black residue from the tire mounting around the other nick, my wheels and tpms were perfect before this. My lesson was a new tpms and refinishing 2 lips to correct the damages. I live life a little differently than I used to 10 years ago, I'm not angry...I'm disappointed. This was my direct experience with this tire shop, and if it helped you in any way then my loss isn't worthless. And to Tire Squad, which I know didn't call or text me to address this, but will definitely read this...have a little more care for your customer's possessions and if an issue shall arise, don't ignore the paying customer.
I have a car-oriented youtube and I'm a high regarded member of the most popular forums and local auto groups. I might do a review to post on my channel as well. My work and pleasure revolve around cars. The whole point of a negative review is for the owner to take the steps needed to address the issues and grow from it, I don't review a business to hurt them.
