I search Tires in Mason Ciry, and find/call Tony's Tire. Online says they're closing but they answer, and gentleman says "guys are walking out but bring it by, I'll take a look. Sounds like you're in a bind." Understatement. I'd have to find a hotel and disrupt my whole trip, which would throw off my Thursday in a major way. Twenty minutes later, Tony's has my tire patched, I'm back on the road - at an incredibly reason value mind you - with a huge smile for appreciation of service and helping out a fellow human. We're getting ready to head out and the tire pressure sensor said we had one losing air. Wife has a membership something yada, yada at Walmart, they told her minimum three hours - first come first serve. She could not sit car for three hours and wait. Swung into discount tire, talked to Cody told him it was kind of a special situation if he could get me back on the road I would happily pay a little extra to get home in a decent time.(4-8" of snow was just starting to come) he said he would handle it. A young lady came out of the shop took the van in came upfront. About five minutes later told me there was a small nail that broken off. It'll be an easy quick fix. She'd get right back to me. 27 minutes later, I'm headed back to Manhappiness Kansas. No extra charge, either. A bearded younger guy, sorry I cant remember his name and another guy "Donnie" who had been with the company a short time and was still in training showed up within the hour. They arrived and immediately got to work. Put an inter tube in the tire and had the job done in less then an hour. Cleaned up the tire and the area. Checked air in other tires. Mentioned the front tires would need swapped out soon, asked if I wanted a quote and I said sure. Guy called the next day. Overall the guys were professional, friendly and very courteous. My brother went in for general car repairs and maintenance totaling $2,500 only to find out a week later that the entire frame was rotted and unsalvageable. The other mechanic he went to said "If you hit a pothole, you could literally lose the entire vehicle". The people at Midas MUST HAVE KNOWN about this issue for the following reasons: 1. If you're a half decent mechanic and you did anything which required putting a car on a lift, you would have noticed this issue (part of the $2,500 worth of work required this). 2. The people at Midas REFUSED to do an alignment which the customer specifically asked for. Once he went to another shop, they told him that it would be impossible to do that work due to the extensiveness of the rotting / rust / other associated issues with the vehicle. The mechanics at Midas have not one iota of human decency, and I hope this review helps consumers seek alternative shops for their automotive care. No one in their right mind would do $2,500 worth of work for a car they knew would require an additional $4,000 above and beyond the value of the vehicle, and that level of transparency was purposefully shielded by the management of this organization. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
