After mentioning that a local tire shop had offered me a lower price that also included an alignment, he reduced the quote to $1,753. Based on that, I brought my car to Butler for service. Toward the end of the appointment, Taylor asked if I wanted an alignment. When I asked the cost, he said it was "only $250." I explained that I assumed the alignment was included in the original quote, especially since I was purchasing four new tires. His response was that I "might not need one." However, given how worn my tires were, it should have been mentioned before replacing them, not after. In the end, my total came to about $2,000, nearly $400 more than the competitor's quote. The lack of transparency about the full service and the timing of the additional charges felt unprofessional and manipulative. I would not recommend having your vehicle serviced here.

After their "diagnostic," I was told my rotors were warped and agreed to repairs totaling about $2,200, believing they had actually identified the problem I came in for. They didn't. The original noise, wobble, and vibration were still there. I brought the car back, and suddenly they discovered that my driveshaft was completely loose--and now I'm being quoted another $1,500+ just for the part. How does a shop perform a diagnostic for noise, wobbling, and vibration and completely miss a major driveline issue? I spent thousands of dollars based on their diagnosis, the actual problem was never fixed, and now I'm expected to spend thousands more for something that should have been identified the first time. At this point, I feel completely taken advantage of. I would not trust this shop with another repair.

You can calculate everything before you pay because it's all clearly listed in-store and on their website, and as long as you tell them exactly what you want done that price does not move. It's crazy to think that's some special characteristic, but unfortunately there are way too many scammers and liars saturating the repair market. Now this place is pretty small and boutique in nature. I like the emphasis on thoroughness. There are three carports and it's on a small lot, so don't expect to have your car worked on immediately unless you are getting a minimal service (oil change). We needed a lot done, so the husband arrived early @8AM for an appt he set online and told the young man working what we needed done (100k mile tune-up, brake replacement, and a few other things). He was very transparent about needing to order parts, so he told him to come back at 3PM. We arrived around 3:15PM and had another 15min wait, but our tech gave us some water while we waited in their small, minimalist lobby (three chairs and their checkout desk). I give extra points for being done around the time when he said he would. Shortly after we arrived he took us out to the bay, explained what he did and what we needed to keep an eye on. I really appreciated that he addressed what needed to be immediately fixed yet paused on what we could sit on for a bit. We were not sold any false sense of urgency and the entire experience was quite black and white. Perfect for us. Now, Dad's doesn't do super complex car repairs or body work, and they are very transparent about that. You can definitely give them a call beforehand to see if they can work on what you need. Their prices are quite fair, and the workmanship is of great quality. Don't expect any overly-friendly or outgoing mechanic though... but I honestly appreciate business-forward bluntness in this industry way more than any false pleasantries.
