My son was offered to have the dealership buy his car- he went in and they a quoted him a price- he came back to make the deal- they "tried" to drive his stick shift- didn't know how to work the air lift (bags) blew his fuse, rubbed his wheel wells, then left it in first gear and told him no. Was helping a friend shop for a dependable used car. Used Autotrader.com and found a couple of vehicles that fit his budget. Mailed the dealership through Autotrader website on 06/07. Email includes a copy to me and the dealer with the vehicle listed, VIN, price advertised BY THE DEALER on Autotrader. I received a call that same evening to schedule an appt for 5:00pm the next day. I received 2 phone calls on 6/8 to confirm the 5:00pm appt. We drove 18 miles to Tipton. Once we arrived, we were informed that the vehicle was on a test drive for at least 30 minutes. Really? A 30 minute test drive? So the salesperson, Casey asked questions regarding what type of vehicle was my friend looking for (even though we had specifically selected this vehicle AND the other 1 year older model/same price, but different trim and mileage). Casey then informs us that Autotraders prices are incorrect and there's "no way" they would sell those vehicles for that amount (both vehicles were listed on Autotrader for $17,888 and $17,867. According to Autotrader, dealers are the ones that supply all of the information to them, including VIN, mileage, make, model AND price. The fact that the vehicle "being held" for us to view was NOT there (and we were called 3 times to set the appt and verify the appt and time), and that it was on a ludicrous 30 minute test drive, AND now the prices (which I had confirmed on the phone when the appt was made AND it is included in the message sent to me and the dealer), we incorrect and $10,000-$12,000 more is a classic bait and switch to get people to come in and try and sell them something else at a far higher cost. Within 18 miles (the approx distance I drove from Westfield) to Tipton Ford, there are over 70 car dealerships. I can assure you I would NEVER select this location due to bait and switch, shady business practices. read more

The day after my wife left town in our SUV I went to my trusted F-150 which my wife insisted on taking, but I wouldn't let her, and the ignition would not turn over. I live, as most in Deep East Texas, in a Forest, but a section Uber does not even service. 3 tow truck drivers declined but I finally got the truck to Tipton Ford after Boatman was unable to repair. Stranded in the forest with no transportation for needed food, medical, or other essentials Tipton Ford went the extra mile and delivered my repaired truck to my door. Customer service is horrible, been trying to get them to correct a ticket that they messed up by not showing freight. I was charged and agreed to pay. Which in turn is costing me approximately $146.00 on getting reimbursed. A three minute fix that has had me on hold two hours. Hopefully they can fix my invoice and I can edit this review. read more

Found a truck from Tipton Ford online and agreed to buy it. Scott Echard The finance manager emailed me e-docs to sign. The edoc sight recommended not using a mobile device so I asked the salesman Chris Johannes if it was ok to sign papers when I got home from work from my laptop at 3pm. Was told that was fine. Got home signed all of the papers. I was excited anticipating my new truck but after a few hours I hadn't heard anything from Chris or Scott. This dealership will not receive any stars from me, I had been researching a car I wanted on the Carfax (app/website), and I did my prepurchasing through the CarGurus (app). I literally had to show up and sign the papers. This dealership's word means NOTHING, zero integrity. I did everything in textbook fashion, set an appointment on the previous business day ( and confirmed with Skylar via text (he confirmed it to be 1:15), and came in ON TIME with all the proper documents and insurance information. Instead, I arrived in the most uncomfortable situation I had ever been in as a customer in my entire life. We decided after arriving to check out the car before we went in to sign, 3 guys stood outside shooting uncomfortable remarks, "It's sold don't bother, among other things." It was a very uncomfortable feeling to have, especially after driving 40 minutes to sign a contract, and I did not choose a backwater dealership, I thought I chose a big-name dealer I could trust, I've owned 4 different Mustangs throughout my life, I have never had a bad name to say about the brand.. I had been speaking to Skylar since the a.m. and my financials had already been submitted AND approved), next we walked in not to be greeted by any form of customer service representative, no instead we found our seats ourselves, as everyone stared at us uncomfortably as if in disbelief we were there. To make a long story shorter, we sat there without anyone having the courtesy to even tell us we were wasting our time instead I was told my appointment meant nothing in so many words, they didn't even try to offer us something else. Instead, 45 minutes later after watching a group of younger guys shoot looks and comments AND go through financing qualifications on the car, I came to finalize, as we sat there while the door was open full audience to all of it AND the looks. We finally got pulled into an office with Skylar who told us "He texted us someone was looking at it." This was after we told him we were on our way, coming to sign, and that we had a 40-minute drive. He also told us that if we had put a 500$ hold it would have been different. In the numerous times we had communicated in the last 24 hours (twice by phone, even more through text messages) NOT ONCE did he ever mention a 500$ hold, it totally wouldn't have been an issue. I had even called the previous day and spoken to someone to whom replied Skylar was busy, I told them very clearly and concisely I did all my prequalifications 24 hours in advance, I'm very serious about the car, and literally want to visually inspect before I sign, but am ready to sign WITH a deal on the table. Skylar then took it up a notch and lied time to our faces (one of which is confirmed via text) and told us we had no appt, but they did. (However, he must have forgotten that he texted me a group of guys walked in with no appointment and just thought I should. I mean what good is an appointment if a FORD DEALER won't even honor it? Furthermore, he was completely aware I was on my way to sign and driving a 40-minute drive. We unapologetically walked out without any promise of any other service, an apology, just uncomfortable looks, and a 60x more uncomfortable situation. This dealership has no honor and integrity and will unapologetically waste your time and if it suits them put you in an uncomfortable situation. Thank you for reading and happy shopping... I found a car online that I really liked at Tipton Ford. It was 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium with 40,030 miles. I drove it on Saturday and noticed that there were more miles on the car than advertised. I decided Monday that I really wanted that car and sent a text to the salesman that I wanted the car and I would be there Tuesday at 1:00 to purchase. When I got there the paperwork hadn't even been started yet and I sat and waited 45 minutes. I had asked the salesman several times for the total price several times and never got it. While he is writing information on the car folder I asked him how many miles were on the car and he said 42,617. Once again I asked about the total price and didn't get an answer. The person that I deal with at the credit union had called the dealership on monday and gotten information about the car and the sell price. The sell price was 24,222. I figured the sell price, sales tax and had my total. When I finally got called into the finance guys office and we were going thru the numbers, I noticed they were higher than what I had anticipated. There was a charge for $299 (dock fee, legit charge that I forgot about.) Another charge for $399 and one for $1295. I asked what those were for and it was for some kind of sealant that they use inside and outside the vehicle and undercoat the bottom of the car. Something they purchase very cheap and then mark it way up to make even more money on the deal. the price of those two charges also increased the sales tax by another $131. Now the price of this car is $28,041.54 instead of $26,216.54. I think it is totally rude to add extra things onto the price of a car without asking the customer if they even want it. I had a set amount I wanted to spend and up until the last 15 minutes I thought I was going to leave with that car. I looked at the car online today and noticed they have updated the mileage and increased (slightly) the price of the car. Shame on you Tipton Ford for taking advantage of women/senior citizens! read more

Tipton Ford is a great place to have your car or truck serviced! They treat you fair and honestly. They don't find "extra" things wrong with your vehicle like other places I've been to. Their service times are quick and reasonable, along with their charges. I don't trust my F350 to anyone else in the area. Thank you Tipton Ford. read more
