The fries were crisp, the tator tots were tasteless. As we were leaving the evening entertainment was coming in. There is a stage in the back where entertainment performs. There are also TV's in strategic locations where you can watch the scheduled football game. Seahawks were on. This place is small but cozy, divey, great neighborhood bar to get a bite to eat. Wha wha, $15 for a large cup of ice and two sips of liquid.....even our 86 yo mom was unimpressed, saying it's all ice! Ok, we move on to an early dinner and wine.....we are at a wine bar/shop, right? Another hurdle for the day....that nice display of bottled wine from around the world can't be consumed on site, unless you add $35 corkage! Whoa, corkage for a $75 Barolo turns it into a $135bottle (including tax and plus plus, more on this later) bottle that I'm purchasing from you to consume on your site! Seriously?!? Plus plus, 5% "service" fee added to the bill. Doesn't support the "service" staff, it all goes back to the restaurant. And zero discount for paying cash. Been there, done that...won't be back!

The issue was not that the winery had expectations for a large group. The issue was the complete lack of communication and the way those expectations were handled. When we arrived, no one informed us that there was a minimum spend requirement or that our group needed to order a certain amount immediately. Several people in our group had already started ordering, including a bottle of wine and a glass of wine, and we were still settling the kids, reviewing the food options, and deciding what else to order. Within just a few minutes of sitting down, staff began pressuring us to order food. Shortly after that, another staff member approached us and told us we needed to clean up after ourselves and meet a minimum spend of around $500. None of this had been clearly stated before we sat down, and we were given no reasonable time to get organized as a group. If a winery has a large-party policy, minimum spend, or specific expectations for families with children, that should be communicated upfront, clearly and respectfully, before guests are seated. Instead, the interaction felt rushed, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming. We had every intention of ordering more wine and food, but the tone and handling of the situation made the experience feel transactional and unpleasant. Fletcher Bay may be a nice spot for smaller groups, but based on our experience, I would not recommend it for families or larger walk-in groups unless their policies are made much clearer and their hospitality improves.

He was very confident about each wine as he would introduce each pour (I did a wine tasting, including five different wines) I prefer red wine over white and usually more on the sweet side; to be exact- I do love Lambrusco wine. Started off with a favorite "Sangiovese" from Walla Walla and Red Mountain 15% alcohol, smooth not too bitter for my likings and is one of the top choices. 5/5 Up next was "Redtail" A Right bank inspired blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This wine is best enjoyed with pasta, seafood and poultry dishes.
