My daughter is currently using them. I am so impressed. We were both worried about using a dog trainer and letting them take the dog for over a week after the experience we had in 2012 with Marg the dog trainer. Tip Too K9 had the dog for little over a week. He is part hound so he is stubborn to say the least. He came home better but did not want to really listen. The trainer came back out to their house the next week and worked with him again and worked with my daughter and her husband. Again he did better but not quit well and constant. The trainer came back out and took the dog back to keep and train more for over a week again. All this was included in the original cost. Yes the original cost was not cheap but is is well worth it because they keep working with them. Not tacking on more charges. They help you get true results. They brought the dog back home today and the trainer worked at the house with the dog and my daughter for over an hour. Want quality training, people who love what they are doing, love your baby. Our experience with Tip Top K9 has been an excellent one. Our dog is Samson, a 20 month old male red merle Border Collie. As the readers may know, Border Collies are considered to be the Einstein of the dog family. But along with their intelligence goes unwavering energy. They were born to run, circle, herd. They are tireless, which can make them also in need of specialized training. I'm an English professor. I compare these dogs to a child with an extremely high I.Q. along with hyperactivity. They are amazing, but must be taught early on to have self-control. Tip Top worked with Samson at their site for about 3 weeks and accomplished amazing things. We want, most of all, for him to be happy. I can tell you that teaching him to have self-control has made him a dog who never stops smiling. He has a wonderful future ahead of him, and a very happy one since I can now take him places with me (he loves riding in the car). My 1 year old German Shepherd, Whiskey, and I started a 6 week lesson training at Tip Top with Jacob. I am an older woman and had a shoulder injury so needed help training my very exuberant young male Shepherd. Whiskey is a very smart boy and learns very quickly. But our time spent with Jacob was "priceless." Jacob was very patient, knowledgeable and understanding about my limitations. I also love that with our lessons came group sessions for the life of Whiskey!! That is amazing and will be utilized. I feel very confident that with Jacob's expertise and help Whiskey will be a "dream" dog. LOL I am very excited to continue with Whiskey's training and watch him, and me, progress. I got my dog back from K9 on Tuesday morning. They used shock collars to mistreat my dog, returning him from the boot camp with myriad bruises all over his body, and marks from electric shocks on his neck. Unfortunately, they seem to train dogs through violence rather than experience and love. The biggest fault lies in believing that quality can be achieved at this extreme price. I would not recommend this facility to anyone with a small breed. My dog has become skinnier and now fears going outside. Personally trying the e-collar, setting it to 40, was not enjoyable; one can only imagine how much worse it is behind closed doors. Central office communication is borderline harassing, unprofessional, unclear, and rude. The communication given from the customer appears to not be read, reviewed, or completely ignored. They need some training in professional customer service rather than repetitive spamming responses. The training we received was wonderful in the past. The customer service through the trainers before the central office took over the communication was wonderful. However, the lack of professionalism and rudeness from the central office will keep people from having their dog trained there. This was our first time taking a dog to training lessons. Pumpkin is a super sweet St. Bernard with some reactivity around new people. Tip top catered to our main concerns with the training sessions and gave us the tools we needed to teach her. Our trainer Jacob was great, very patient and knowledgeable. Our last training session was inside a bass pro shop and my parents and I were shocked at the results. We confidently walked her at a "heel" all around the store with no reactions out of Pumpkin. Fantastic service! We have a puppy that was severely abused during his first 5 months of life and when we adopted him from the shelter he had a lot of anxiety, was stubborn, loud, and didn't trust anyone. We went to Tip Top because we adopted an idiot husky. Our dog, Charlie, aka "Dum Dum", was a terrible walker. I know he's a husky and "mush" is in his nature, but he would drag us (and we are strong!!!) along with making our other dog (my beloved) Ollie, run amuck with him. Charlie was essentially ruining my outdoor life with his silly pulling, his running to the door, jumping, and mauling/licking people. Not really mauling but he loves to greet people with an arm bite (not hard) just "Hi, I'm Charlie, I'm going to bite your forearm, mmmkay?!" Then he and Ollie started annhiliating my possessions when we would sleep. Just my things. My husband's belongings were spared. It was getting to the point where I was thinking, you know...getting this other dog was a bad idea. He's going back to the pound! And he wasn't even terrible, I just work a lot and am tired (graveyard shift). We found Tip Top because of their stellar reviews. The meeting was awesome where they reviewed the collars (they vibrate, not shock) like the same thing a chiropractor uses. It doesn't hurt, but does get their attention. The guy (some giant bearded Viking) was very mellow. They were even training a vicious dog outside. I was impressed with how chill everyone was. As another dog is spazzing out, everybody is like "no big, she bites. But we know how to handle it." We signed up for the Teacher's Pet package which was about $1500 for both dogs, for six lessons, lifetime group classes, and additional money for the collars. Prices vary by size. You have to be invested to do this. And your expectations should be reasonable. They won't have different personalities. But in the beginning at least they will mind you and have slightly improved manners. Your dogs will require training for months afterwards, but you won't have to spend a lot of time doing it. In the end our our training, Rob (bearded Scot) said that even when you're making dinner or watching TV, it's considered dog training to reinforce their "stays." Few times a week is good. Rob was our dude. He spoke to us and the dogs in the same way. Friendly and in short sentences. Sometimes we would get a "good boy" too! Because, really, dog training is also about getting trained as a human with a dog. Don't project your little feelings, you're trying to not have a psycho dog. Just do what they say. Rob would take the dogs for the first couple of lessons to work them and they would be pooped. The next four lessons we were involved. This is where they train come, place, heel, etc. it's about 1.5 hours for both dogs. Sometimes longer if they're being difficult. We had to buy 25 ft leashes (Amazon $9 ea and raised dog cots) also Amazon about $25 ea. It's tiring for you and your dog if they act nuts. But you do take it more seriously when they begin to respond to your training. You feel so proud! It's like being a good dog mom/dad. These are your stupid kids and YOU put the work in. If you want them to do the bulk of the work, it's a different package and you will still have to learn how to reinforce their training. One day we were training "place" (it's a stay), and Charlie became uncharacteristically hostile. He was biting, snarling, lunging and being a real douchebag about it. I was really mad. Rob took over and worked it out of him. He spent two hours with us that day and worked mostly on Charlie. Charlie was getting peeved at being pressured to work. Rob stayed with it and never got mad. Chill and assertive. Charlie hasn't acted like that since, but I'm sure he'll try because he's stubborn (Rob said that's a husky thing). Last day was heel. Charlie/Dum Dum crushed it. We haven't done group classes yet, so I'll have to see. You are taught to let the collar be your strength, the leash is the guide, and which commands are to be used. The boys stay in their houses when I work. They were crate trained before, but the extra training helps make them more compliant and tired. Tired dog is a happy dog! Tired dog is a happy owner!! Very friendly people and he was always on time. They're very concerned about customer satisfaction, so if you are having issues with it speak up. We keep the collars and will have them on during their day. Anytime we use commands, the collars need to be on. So you do have to keep working it afterwards. Rob said 4-6 months after, collars on. Honestly, I love animals and I can put up with a lot of goofiness from them but I had a doodle that was being totally crazy and she would jump on my guests and get so excited that she would pee all over the place. After we had her trained with tip top k9 we saw a night and day difference! Little girl doesn't pee anymore because she is focused on doing something like sit or place or whatever else we tell her to do to distract from the excitement of the visitor or new people! The trainers were amazing and Ruby absolutely loves them which I think says a lot about the program! They don't use negative reinforcement and they love your dog as much as you do! It's amazing! Tip top K9 in Tulsa was truly service oriented. Not pushy but professional. We adopted an abandoned German Shepard that we were told was 3 years old - turned out to be 1 year old with lots of energy. I was going to have to return her to the shelter but Sean and colleagues at Tip top taught us and our dog behavioral tools so we could make it work. This place is all out for your $$$$$. I had just welcomed home my new puppy after losing my dog of 10 year. They first were 40 minutes late for my first appointment. Then they called begging to come to my house. I gave them a second chance. They were LATE again! I proceeded with the lesson for my puppy and they said he should be sent to their stupid boot camp thing where they charge $6k for and wanted me to book it on the spot!! DESPERATE MUCH?! Then the office lady called me the next day asked when they could come pick up my puppy. Keep in mind I didn't even agree to this overpriced stupid package. Why would I send away my brand new puppy that I had for 2 days for 3 months?! So they could pay their rent! Ha. No thanks! We have a dog that is fear/stranger aggressive, very hard to train ourselves. Very few people want to work with pitties. Found this company online, of course was skeptical about 1.00 training session. Our dog was not perfect but after an hour she had submitted to trainer and had stopped barking and growling. They use e-collar, never seen it before till then. It is not a shock collar and not used as punishment. Sends a gentle tap and gets your dogs attention. They made us try it on. Anyway, they have different packages, we chose Bootcamp option, which is the most expensive. Because they keep your dog and train them everyday, everywhere and with different people anywhere from 3-5 weeks several hours a day. I gotta say that she is still needy and clingy but we are not afraid to take her out in public, she does not act like a crazy girl and we can place her on funny objects among the 7 common commands(sit stay heel etc) read more

We have been through our first three private lessons with our one Year old Lab mix Nala. The results so far have been INCREDIBLE. Ryan is teaching us as much as he is training Nala. As the son of a K-9 cop, I know what a well trained dog should be capable of, but did not know how to do it myself I realize that the up front price seems high, but when you factor in the life time group training -- it is a bargain! (Dad would have been cheaper, but the airfare to fly him here a couple dozen times would have broke me!) Nala is a great dog, but pretty excitable. She understood commands, but would get distracted and only follow them some of the time. In just 3 weeks we have seen huge improvements. She rarely jumps of people anymore, sits and Places on command and stays until told she can break. Last week I sat her between 2 cats and she never moved (I know dogs can't sweat, but I swear she looked like she was) Her heel is incredible after just one lesson. We had her walking tight circles around Ryan's dog, and she kept her focus the whole time. Nala loves the lessons. It keeps her from being bored. She is excited, happy and a little worn out after the lessons. Please don't think that the worn out is a bad thing. A bored dog is going to be a problem dog. We are excited to start group classes next week. I can not wait to see how much more she can learn. To the reviewer that said she was disappointed that she would have to continue to train the dog, what do you expect? Do you send your kids to kindergarten and expect them to never need to learn anything again? Too many people have dogs that they buy/rescue/obtain or whatever, then never pay any attention to again. Dogs are intelligent animals and most are capable of being amazing, but they need their owners to Love, teach and encourage them. The problem is that most of us do not know how to do it. We adopted a black Lab about four weeks ago. He was dumped out in the country, probably by a puppy mill owner due to the fact that his tail is broken. This boy is a beautiful, sweet, eager to please dog who is without a doubt full blood Lab. We take pet ownership seriously - animals need lots of love, regular check ups, their shots must be kept current, their food has to be high quality and they have to be well trained. I researched puppy classes and obedience schools, and when I came across Tip Top K9 the search ended. Their videos were incredible, and when we met with one of their trainers he was so friendly and knowledgable, and the demo he gave just served to further solidfiy our great impression of the company. Their services are a bit pricey, but you only pay once and that covers the life of the dog. As long as our boy is around, we can take him to class two days a week every single week. We are so impressed with Tip Top K9! Our one year old lab mix, Joey, is so tender hearted but could get pretty wild when we would try to take him places or go on walks. He could not walk on a leash without pulling VERY hard, he would bark and lunge toward other dogs, and he would not come when called. We can now spend more time with Joey away from home because we know he will listen to us. We were concerned that Joey would lose his sweet personality but that wasn't the case. He is the same dog but now knows how to follow commands when we tell him to. We were very impressed at how professional this team is and we truly felt like Joey was in good hands. I called to simply inquire about training. They opened a file immediately and within 2 minutes were trying to get our banking information, over the phone, to get ONE dollar out! I said I would gladly give them a dollar when they show up. They kept insisting this was their company policy. This was a big red flag for us. I don't know about the training, but we were really put off by their business practice and "company policy." It wasn't about my dog. We adopted two sweet fur friends during the snow apocalypse last year so they were not friendly with other dogs, or adults, by the time they were free to be out in the community. We found Tip Top and they came out for our first visit. Immediately we were surprised at how fast the girls responded to commands and were hopeful that they could learn more. The first lesson was AMAZING. Tyler worked with them in a calm way that amazed both my husband and I. Each week they revisited the skills from the week prior, and push us as good dog owners to be respectful around our community and with other people. This was super important to us since we had so many grandbabies visiting. One of our puppies was extremely anxious, and still is, but Tyler encouraged her and us to learn --- and she proved to be the best student in our house. I can't say enough good things about Tip Top -- I still wish we could continue weekly. Our last training session was at Home Depot, and surrounding customers noticed and even commented on how well behaved the pups were. I would have to agree, I think pricing was too much. If I would of know that Ryan wouldn't listen to our requests I would of never hired them to train our 2 golden's. We gave him their food (as they get a special food due to bad allergies), we gave him special treats (again allergies) and told him if he needed more that he would just need to contact us, but not to give them anything else. He ignored this and I was very upset that we had to cut one of the golden's training sessions short due to him getting so sick. He gave him a treat that was not approved by us, he did not ask and we told him to not venture out of what we already gave him. Our golden came home very ill and for 2 weeks. My wife also explained that Rebel grew up in states with no thunderstorms, and he was deadly scared of them, being new to Oklahoma. She explained he gets the WORST anxiety attacks. She asked him not to kennel him on thunderstorm nights, that we could bring his thunder shirt (which he stated he didn't need it), and that he seeks out a female companion when he is this scared. His replied "no wonder her was on top of my wife." Instead of listening to us he caged him. Of course this was the time when we had storm after storm 2-3 nights in a row. He tells us he was barking non-stop and had to leave the collar on him 24/7 and click it repeatedly on over 100+. Not only my wife, but I was angry that he totally ignored us. Our Golden now has even worse anxiety due to this! Bella, she was trained well, she does do well. She was there for 6 weeks. However, I was a little turned off that he said we would have to train her everyday after spending over $3000!!! I can understand maybe 2-3 days a week, but everyday???? I think everyone has great experiences and bad experiences, and ours was not good. Ryan seems like a great guy, and means wells. However, he needs to listen to his customers. What he put Rebel through, well we should of never had to pay for that! I am highly unlikely to refer them to anyone based on our experience. read more

OVERPRICED!!!! I paid the big bucks for them to keep our 1 golden the entire time (6 week) so we didn't have to worry about training her when she got home. To find out that we still needed to train her everyday on EVERYTHING. Hmmm!!! I wouldn't of paid all that money if that was the case. He also took our 2nd golden for one week. I told him that he gets freaked out during thunder storms and not to lock him in a cage as it will freak him out. Well, come to find out, my poor baby was barking out from fear from the thunder in the kennel and he kept zapping him telling him to be silent. This I find to be a torture. I told him he freaked out over thunder storms, he gets BAD anxiety attacks from them, and this guy locks him in a cage and zaps him REPEATEDLY, and the dumbest thing about it, HE TELLS ME THIS!!!! Not only that but he gave him a rawhide bone (which I never give to my pets) which sent him into a major diarrhea fit for a week and a half. He did pay the vet bill, but that doesn't help all the clean up we had to do, baths, etc. He came home so stressed out! I was pissed we ever sent them. I can't use the remote on him because the torture from the thunder storm and him zapping him (on over 100) from barking gets him so freaked out he hides or gets the shakes. I want my money back from the cost of him, and I think half on what I paid for the other, as he did half the work!!! I highly regret ever spending the money and doing this. read more

We resuced a dog amidst our move to 3 three different homes! She is a great pyrenesse/golden retriever mix and is the sweetest dog, however with three children and our hectic schedule no training seemed to help. We have a happy, precious, hyper frenchie. With that personality comes a few undesirable traits, jumping on anyone that walks through the front door and trying to dart out the front door whenever the chance arises. We were concerned for his safety, on the occasions that he made it out the door. He is extremely fast and would come back, once he was done running the neighborhood. We were afraid that he would either get run over or "dognapped." We called Tip Top K9 for an assessment, to see if they could help us with our concerns, without losing his adorable, loving personality. They felt that they were up to the task. We opted to do in home lessons, as we wanted to train him in the area where the issues were, and to ensure his personality remained in tact. We could not be happier with his progress, after each lesson he showed more discipline and learned the boundaries that we needed him to have. After hitting the breaking point of frustration with our barky 3 year old toy-poodle, Bailey, we finally decided to give Tip Top a call. Before beginning training with Tip Top, Bailey was a consistent yapper and only obeyed our commands occasionally. We were hoping to gain the tools and training for ourselves as well as our dog through our private in home lessons with Ryan, and our expectations were exceeded right off the bat. Ryan spent time working with Bailey and before our first lesson was completed Bailey was not only understanding the commands he was given, he was obeying! After just over a month of training one on one, Bailey has learned to sit, lay down, heel, place, and the barking/skiddish behavior he has always displayed has dramatically decreased.
