donna is the best!! she is so incredibly attentive, she made me and my friend feel so welcome and comfortable. i came in early afternoon on wednesday, i had to wait a bit for her to finish up other clients but didn't feel like i was waiting at all. she is the sweetest and kept making sure we were fed with snacks too and tea. as for the gel pedi, she did an amazing job, they were done in 30 minutes. you can really tell how expert she is at nails based on the speed and care she spends on your nails while chatting away too. i will be back again, thank you donna! read more

Y'all, Donna is the best. I stumbled across her salon on a very random weekday. While I had to wait for about half an hour for her to finish up with another scheduled client, I realized very quickly that she is just so sweet and attentive to detail. While she is naturally a people person, she also respects your quiet time if you're in the mood to just sit and relax in her massage chair (like I was when I came in for a walk-in gel pedicure). She was very quick in removing my nail polish, and during my pedicure, she also added a hot stone massage that made me think I was in heaven. By the end of my appointment with her, I felt that she had adopted me as her own daughter. :) I highly recommend Tip & Toe Salon! read more

Donna was exceptional! I found this nail salon through class pass and despite some scheduling challenges through my class pass app she made both my pedicure and manicure happen as a favor due to a wedding I had to go to later in the evening - seriously so kind of her to go out of her way! Her personality is one to adore. She provided me magazines + glass of wine despite her being in a rush to ensure I get the full experience of a relaxing and spa like feel. Donna is truly amazing. I have been going to Tip & Toe Salon for over a year now, and after years of switching salons, I have finally found my favorite. I struggle with painful ingrown toenails, and Donna is able to remove them without any discomfort -- I leave feeling so relieved. I've always been embarrassed to wear sandals because of my short nail beds, but she worked magic to make them look bigger, and now I'm confidently wearing open-toed shoes again. I genuinely look forward to my appointments; it's the only time in my busy day when I can fully relax. Donna gives me her full attention and takes such great care of me. Today was the first time I stepped foot in a nail shop in close to 2 years - and to say it was an absolute pleasure is an understatement. For about 20 years of my life I was the girl that would go to the nail shop every 2 weeks religiously . I took a break to finish paying off debt I'd accumulated in my younger years and yet ... today I had the best experience I've ever had in a nail shop in my life. Just learning I could use it for things outside of yoga and hiit classes - I found Donna's salon via ClassPass and booked myself for a same day appointment. When I arrived she was surprised to see me and informed me that she was sorry but she'd been having issues with her phone or class pass and didn't see that I'd booked an appointment. She expressed she was super busy but could still see me at a later time if I was available. I made it work and I'm so happy I did! When I returned for my appointment - I had the opportunity to see Donna in her element, taking great care of some ladies that had an appointment before mine. One maybe 6 years old or even younger and Donna treated everyone like family. Say what you'd like - giving kids a manicure is hard work! But Donna handled it like it was easy and made it so fun - even I couldn't help but laugh along! My visit and pedicure with Donna was the highlight of my day. She took great care of me, she took her time, and she did an AMAZING job. From asking me how I liked the temperature of my water, to the hot stone massage, and making sure I actually liked my pedicure before she finished - she has earned a client for life. Donna is lots of love and laughter, she has a great attitude (unlike sadly most technicians I've seen), and knows how to carry herself! Donna is an absolute professional and knows how to make sure her clients enjoy themselves in her salon. Chatting with her felt like I'd reconnected with a longtime girlfriend. This is my absolute most favorite salon in the Bay Area and it is all because of Donna. She is such an attentive nail technician. And if I ask her to do something, like a design or certain technique, she does it without hesitation. I only get manicures now because it is hard for me to tolerate the UV light, and she gladly accommodates and doesn't try to upcharge me for every little thing. If she hasn't seen me in a while, she texts me to check in on me. She is so gentle and so very caring. She has an excellent business model because I would not visit anyone else except for Tip and Toe. The best customer service and her salon is kept so very clean. I highly recommend, 10/10. read more

Needed to come give an updated review after a year of coming here. Incredible Covid safety protocols and always so clean. Donna is the absolute sweetest and always does her best to work with my crazy busy schedule. She is so funny and always makes my appointments so full of great conversation and incredible service. I got a full set of nails and pedicure done, and removal of gel all within 1 hour and 15 minutes by one person and the results are amazing. Donna was super sweet and attentive to what style would look best on me. My first time having the callus removal where I am actually satisfied with my results. My feet feel buttery smooth finally. 10/10 service. I will drive from Hayward to see Donna from now on. read more

The owner isn't as good as she claims she is. She tried to sell me on more than I wanted. I had my nails painted and they started chipping after two days and turning color. I had them white. She was very conceited and thought she was the best of all the nail salons on top of that she's extremely expensive. I will not be going back. read more

I was initially seated with one nail tech, I believe his name was Leo, who randomly decided someone else would take over. He didn't go help another client--he just stopped working on me and passed me off, which already felt unprofessional since he sat down few seats down from us just chatting. The second nail tech, Tina, was extremely rough from the start. I had to pull my hand back and say "ow" multiple times. She filed aggressively without checking length or shape and repeatedly filed my actual skin. Halfway through, my fingers were burning. She wasn't wearing gloves so as she was cleaning the polish up, she was using her nails that didn't look clean to dig up my skin and polish. 2nd, The color wasn't what I asked for, but I agreed to it anyway because she kept showing me options that weren't even close to what I requested. I was trying to be respectful and not cause a problem and just settled for this color. Furthermore, the polish application was a mess. She constantly repainted and removed polish on every nail using a buffer, nail file, and even a paper towel. I've never seen nail polish removed that way.. weird. The final result was bumpy, uneven, and sloppy, with polish all over my skin. By the end, both of my thumbs were swollen and slightly bleeding. Instead of stopping, she kept filing my skin and drilling around the sides, making the pain worse. I stayed patient thinking that she'll clean it up properly, but I realized this was truly her final work. At this point, I let her finish and asked for her manager. When I asked to speak to the manager, the nail tech became defensive and started yelling in her own language. I didn't cause a scene and I wasn't rude, but the change in tone was obvious and made me so uncomfortable that I started crying. The manager offered and gave store credit, but that doesn't change the fact that my skin flesh has been filed down multiple times and I left in pain. I walked out with injured fingers and nails that looked extremely sloppy. Please listen to the bad reviews. I'm not sure how this place has a 4-star rating. A nail appointment should never end in pain, and tears. I will never return and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
