This school has become an extension of our family…read more The level of skill and passion these teachers and staff have for Montessori education is amazing to watch. We have had one child there from 18 months through Lower Primary, and our second child starts in a few weeks. The value of sending our children here instead of to a daycare has been huge. Watching friends who live other places and don't have a Montessori option send their kids to daycare where they pay more money for a bare minimum level of childcare has been eye opening. At Hillside, we always know our kids are safe, cared for, happy, and learning. When our son was 2 years old, he came home singing a song that we couldn't quite understand the words to. That night at bedtime, he pointed to a map and said "That's North America!" That was when we realized he had been singing the continents song all afternoon. He has grown in practical skills (helping us with dinner every night), creative ability (he loves painting and drawing), and emotional maturity (helping with his little sister because he is used to "being a leader" in the classroom at school). I don't write reviews often, but Hillside deserves more than five stars.

She was feeding…read moremy 16 month old baby food like a six month old and then I caught her keeping him in a playpen in a room by himself while he was awake with no toys or anything... Then when my nephews started they said she would not feed them breakfast even though it was in her contract to and I even provided the food she just refused to cook it. my nephews came into my care through foster care and I informed her a woman from the state would be out the next day and she refused to allow the visit. makes you question what she is trying to hide

When i talked to the director she brushed it off like it was fine and no big deal. He also came home with bruises and marks with no report. I called state after asking around and just hearing bad things about the school. The next week i was asked to come and pick up my son with no reason why. When i got there they had his things packed and said they knew i called state and they didn't want him there anymore. When i asked for a copy of his paper work she refused. And i had to call the police to get it. Definitely do not recommend! They leave the babies alone in a room!!

There's been several incidents prior to today, but what happened today was unacceptable. Parents need to be aware. Prior to today, my daughter picked up the kids at least four times and the youngest had a dirty diaper. Not wet. Dirty. She had diaper rash several times. One has autism. With therapy, speech is improving but still a struggle. My daughter received a call a day or so ago complaining that there was verbal bullying. Nope. No examples. Just verbally bullying. Unless circumstances are perfect, there are struggles with a complete sentence. They were also left unsupervised long enough to climb on top of a bookcase. There's been several other incidents, but those were the big flags. Today was a full banner. My daughter received a call around 430p that one had an accident. Theyd has never had an accident since potty training nearly a year ago. When asked why they didn't just change clothes, no answer was given. My daughter had to leave her job to go to the daycare. Once there, she found them covered in feces. They'd left them in that mess. And no extra clothes. The clothes were gone. By the time she got home, their skin was red. While at the school when being picked up, they were distraught. Theyd asked to go to the toilet while on the playground, but were refused. When my daughter asked why, she said that she would've had to take all 17 kids inside, so they should've waited. A three year old? Also concerning. She said all 17 kids. The ratio for 3yo is a maximum of 1:15. One last note: when my daughter reported this to the state, she was told it wasn't the first report of neglect.
