It was and for good reason- it's the sister store of a home decor shop in Tawas City that I remember shopping last summer. That store was super cute and kinda eclectic and so was this one. The store just opened in April and is very much like the shop up north. They mirror each other pretty well, from layout and service to selection and price point. Customer service was nice and attentive and the stock was ample, showcasing plenty of "farmhouse chic" type of decor- candles, vases, furniture, clocks, artwork, signage, etc, much of it in a rustic, upcycled motif. The prices are kinda on the high end for even simple items, but the furniture was pretty reasonably priced. Some of the pieces are pretty garden variety and nothing that unique or that you can't get at Target for much less, but other items (larger pieces) are rather interesting and worth a real look. Overall, a nice store with great service and a mid-range price point for the most part.

To make matters worse, when I called seeking a solution, none was offered. This created an unnecessary scramble at a critical moment -- imagine arriving without the required flowers because the florist simply withdrew from the transaction. This experience suggests one of several possibilities: operational difficulties, an inability to manage their online ordering system (despite successfully processing payment), or a diminishing regard for customer care. Perhaps it is a combination of these factors. In the real world, customers come first if you ever want their return. Thankfully, Grand Blanc Flowers by Vogt's stepped in immediately and resolved the situation with professionalism and care. When a business cannot fulfil an order, it should not accept it in the first place -- or it should proactively refer the customer to a trusted competitor who can deliver.

They have offered to resolve it by shipping me a new plant with photo approval, but have been pretty slow to make actual steps towards replacing the plant. It's been over 2 weeks now since I let them know about my issue. I also had I ordered 2 lizard queens. They looked beautiful when they arrived, but after a few days they started dying. I pulled them all out of their soil and guess what, total root rot! I Out of two plants, I am trying to propagate maybe 7-8 nodes at this point. Total rip off!!
