    Our large tiny house.
    Matt R.

We stayed in the largest of the houses here. It was the two bedroom. We would probably stay here again but it had some issues. The toilets don't flush very well. You have to hold the handle down, then wait until the water fills up until you can flush again. The pillows weren't great and although I liked the mattresses, my wife and son didn't. It is in a great location for restaurants and stores. Parking is sort of awkward, with room for just one car sideways in front of the house. The side yard is closed in, which is great if you have dogs. They do have a pet fee, even though it isn't in their Airbnb listing. Be careful in the master bedroom shower, it can be slippery.

Each Tiny House are themed differently and comes in certain sizes and rates

Tiny Houses has always been one of those things that I have always wanted to check out and experience. The others being, Container-Converted houses, Tree Houses, House Boats, etc.... yes, my list could go on and on. So when given a chance this Summer Break and time, my wife found a spot and area of town where it was too perfect not to give a try. Tiny House Siesta is in Siesta Key, which is located on Florida's Gulf Coast adjacent to Sarasota. They specialize and boasts 12 differently themed tiny houses. We stayed in the Red Lifeguard House and it was as advertised. You are basically close by of a walk or drive from all local restaurants, shops and the beautiful GULF beaches. The only downside for me would be is that the house smelled "old", but folks, do not allow that to deter you. The place was well furnished and decorated. Would definitely stay here again.

    Main bed

Ladder seemed unsafe to get to the upper bed but besides that it was nice very clean. Everything is mostly walkable.

    Poop on the couch

Absolutely horrendous. There were fences stains on the couch. The drapes also had brown stains. It was so sad my 6 year old cried and we had to last minute find a newplace to stay. Ours was the aqua "oasis". Darren was pretty dismissive when I tried to tell him about it but refunded us. Other people said their units were filthy too.

    Mold around shower floor

Love the concept. Beach access with regards to location amazing. Your own private parking and patio, nice. Now the not so good things: mold around anything with water - the sink, the shower. Swelling and mold under exposed floorboards in bathroom. Inconsistent wifi makes watching TV extremely frustrating. Black dust around all screens in each window and the TV was very dirty on the back panel (moved the pivoting frame to attempt to watch TV). Be wary if you have bad knees and a loft bedroom. I appreciate the experience but probably won't be back. Pina colada house.

Here's the place supposed to stay in at first this was the pelican house, where I was so excited to stay, but did not get to.

Honestly, no I wouldn't recommend staying here. Some of them are cute but I did not get to stay in the one that I chose to stay in and that I paid for and when I got there she goes oh you are being moved and are not allowed to pull into the one that you picked out but you are going to be staying at this other one in the " blue lifeguard stand " Wait a minute here I thought the whole experience was for me to be able to pick out the little tiny house of my liking and enjoy the stay in the house that I picked out but I did not get to do that that's what is so upsetting here. Oh and let me tell you this was a one story floor. It does not have a loft. It did not leave us satisfied customers. This was supposed to be a "Father's Day surprise" for my boyfriend and I to stay in and they totally moved me so when I got there to check in, they said we're moving you into a bigger and better one. At first I was excited, but then when I seen the place, I almost started to cry, literally, and It was not as cute by far not the experience, I was expecting ! And it definitely was not bigger. It did not have a loft. It had such a boring look to it. I asked them if they could give me a discount on my next stay or if I could choose to stay there at a different time, but since this was a surprise for my men, we decided to stay anyway, but I did ask her if there was something she could do if we stayed there again, or if there was some kind of discount, she could give us for the inconvenience that this was and she said I will call you tomorrow well I didn't get a call but I got only an impersonal text message telling me they weren't gonna do anything for me so #1 they ruined my experience #2 the beds were so uncomfortable that my boyfriend told me he didn't even get tany sleep and had to work the next day! My experience wasn't what I thought it was gonna be and the reason I wanted to stay at the tiny house pelican was for the loft experience this blue lifeguard stand did not have that experience or any experience at all if you see in the pictures, my exact reason why I was so upset and basically wanted to cry, and I almost broke down crying when I walked into the place, that I was totally left Speechless! I was not taken care of as you can tell. I do not recommend staying in one of these tiny houses unless you know for a fact, they are not gonna move you around because I promise you it will be disappointing when they do you come, they're expecting to be staying in something really adorable that you picked out and then you get there and they put you somewhere else that's totally just a place that you wouldn't honestly ever pick out and spend money on if that was the only place left to stay. I hope you guys are understanding where I'm coming from because this was a real crappy situation. Honestly, I'd rather stay across the street at the hotel that had a pool to swim in and not have to deal with this again! I'm not going to pay for a place when I don't know if they're going to move me into a place that I do not even want to stay or that I would've never spent money on in the first place. I really don't think these people understand how upset and how they ruined my little vacation even though I only stayed for a day $200 for a night to stay for a surprise, for my boyfriend was a real disappointment, and I thought it was gonna be better than this. They should've called me before I got there instead of waited an hour after I got there to tell me that they were just getting ready to call me. When they knew they were going to be moving me to begin with why didn't they let me know in advance so that something could've been done or maybe they could've asked me if I wanted to pick a different day to stay anything but tell me up we can't do anything for you oh well, even though they admitted it was their fault. That's what you do for your customers to get them to come back . Smh honestly, this is not how you guys make money. This is how you lose it. And how you get real bad reviews I will not be a second time customer, but I probably would've been if they helped me out with the situation instead of just leaving me with no resolution. Never heard of such a thing. And isn't that what their whole thing is at tiny house it's all about the experience. Well this was not a good experience and they knew that it's really sad to tell you the truth. Seems like all they care about is the money that they make not about their customers, being happy or satisfied. I hope whoever decides to stay here in the future. Doesn't have any problems like I did because let me tell you it was a real bummer and a let down I pick that cute place out for a reason not for it to get changed with no warning. And honestly this is why you guys don't have a five star review.

Overall, a charming little place close to beaches and restaurants, but a few drawbacks. I appreciated the interaction with Mina during the reservation phase because the online portal doesn't offer information on decisionmaking factors such as whether there's a discount for longer-term stays. And when I gave a one-week notice that I needed to cancel the 15th day of my stay, they made not even a partial reimbursement. When I arrived, it was dark, and because there's no entrance light I found it difficult to see and unlock/open the finicky door. I found the unit musty smelling but neat. Surfaces appeared wiped, refrigerator clean, and floors appeared swept but not scrubbed. Windows and the bathroom cupboard/drawer insides were a bit dirty, and during my stay I saw and killed a couple of roaches. I appreciated that the AC and kitchen ceiling fan as well as appliances, but water pressure, especially at the kitchen sink, was very poor, the bottom row of buttons on the microwave (including cancel) didn't work, and the bathroom towel rack fell off the wall when I tried to hang even a washcloth from it. Internet access was OK for my purposes and TV/movies were available via streaming through a Roku. There was a generous amount of storage, drawer, and shelf space, but it was impractical to hang anything long as a dress or robe in the open closet. A few outdoor hooks on the fence allow towel drying, but inside places to air-dry beach-wet clothes and more than one towel/washcloth were minimal. I bought a few removable hooks so we could hang at least a few items. The charming kitchen and tiny sitting area were OK for one or two, but very tight when the fold-out sofa was in use by a third, and had only two ill-fitting chairs. My guest said the fold-out was the worst she'd ever slept on. We had to hand-wash the very spare amount of dishes (just two coffee cups) and silverware after every meal. There was no dish-rack or drain board. The kitchen had some useful barbeque and serving utensils and condiments but not items like plastic wrap. There were 1/2-full small containers of kitchen dish detergent and bathroom hand-soap, and bath cleaning utensils but no cleaning solution. Linens were provided, more or less. That meant we had only one kitchen towel, and needed to request a flat sheet for the couch/bed. They didn't refresh the linens at the end of the week so I spent 2 hours and $10 at the laundromat washing them after week 1. One of the three pillows provided was pretty awful. My granddaughter liked the little bathtub and the bathroom sink area was fairly spacious. There was a hair dryer. We had to buy more TP, and used our own tissues and bath soap/shampoo. Outside, there's a tidy tiny fenced-in patio area with a table/umbrella and small grill, and during my stay the outdoors was pleasantly quiet - no noisy neighbors. But there is no landscaping and the view is mostly fence, telephone wires, and sky. On-site staff appeared to be hardworking and management was timely their communication. All in all, not perfect - especially nonreimbursement for timely cancelation and finding items in disrepair - but the negatives are somewhat offset by the proximity to the beaches, restaurants and shopping; and the competitive rates. I'd consider Tiny House Siesta again if I had some certainty that I wouldn't encounter some of the issues noted here.

This concept is 5 stars, all the way. I know of nowhere else in a Florida where you can hand pick your desired tiny home and be 10 minutes drive from the beach. Choosing the right tiny home for you is half the fun. There are so many options, themes, sizes and features to choose from. The homes are all in great condition and clearly management takes great pride in their "resort". We stayed in the "Margarita", a larger tiny home on the row. Sleeps 6, but it was just the two of us (I booked late and it was one of the only ones left). The space is large and clean. There are 3 full size beds with 1 bathroom which included a standing shower (with a good amount of elbow room as well). Lots of natural light and a powerful and effective air condition unit that worked like a champ! Areas of improvement would be: Welcome packet and info guide for the tiny home and the area like where to find the stove top hot plate, where to find the coffee machine, explanation of the water temperatures. Directions to the beach, restaurants in walking distance, etc. More trash cans in the home. There was only 1 under the sink. I suggest at least one in the bathroom too More mirrors in the home. Not one full length mirror. Only mirror was the one over the sink in the bathroom. Good thing it was just two of us, I couldn't imagine 6 people with only 1 mirror. Toiletries- there was only a travel size lotion. I recommend at least shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also, a hair dryer would be a great asset. Lights - a switch and light didn't work in the downstairs room. The upstairs loft didn't even have a light option. Also, the outside light near the patio deck had 2 light fixtures but no bulbs so therefor, no light. Inside table - there is no inside table to eat at in this home. You have a great kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, stove top, pots, pans, etc. but not table! You would have to go to the outside patio table to eat. While that sounds enjoyable, Florida weather doesn't always permit. These little touches would help in swallowing the $278/night cost of this home. This place is safe, quiet, so close to restaurants, a Publix and the beach (20 minutes drive to St. Armand's Circle). Jodi the property manager was friendly and knowledgeable on everything. He even let us change inside even though check in was for another 2 hours. I hope that this place thrives and that it's success pushes them to enhance their service. Can't wait to go back!

Cute, clean, quaint, and cozy. We stayed in the Sea Turtle which is a tad bigger than a tiny home. I was traveling with an elder who wouldn't have been able to climb a ladder to get to the bed in a loft so we chose this option. It had everything you needed like pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, toiletries, hair dryer, etc. Full functioning kitchen so you can cook there instead of going out. It also had a washer and dryer to wash dirty clothes! It was very clean. My only complaints are the wifi was horrible. You really couldn't watch TV because it kept going out. And the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The mattress on the bed was hard as a rock and the pull out sofa bed was sagging in the middle. I ended up rolling that up and just sleeping on the couch. Good thing it was only for two nights. Check in and check out were contactless. They send you an email/ text right before check in with a code for the door. There is a computerized tablet on the counter used to confirm check in and check out and messages. I only needed help getting the door open upon arrival. I couldn't figure out the smart lock. But I just called and an attendant promptly showed up to assist. The location was perfect, close to shops and restaurants and a few miles to drive to the beach. I would definitely stay here again. I would just bring a mattress topper

This is in the bathroom in front of the shower.

I was so excited to be staying in a tiny house for my daughter's 21st birthday trip. I could not believe my eyes when we walked in. There was scuff marks allover the walls and floorboards. It was so gross. The baseboards were absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure they have ever been cleaned since they started renting them out. There was a hole on the inside of the bathroom door. I had to put towels allover the floor so we didn't have to walk on the nasty floors. I was surprised that the shower was actually clean and had good water pressure. The kitchen sink was nice and big, but the faucet was missing metal mess up inside so it would spray water everywhere if you tried to turn it up very high. It was such a bad experience. I would never recommend staying there. Especially in the Coral Oasis.

DON'T stay in the "Sea Turtle" it is NOT a tiny house! It is an old mobile home. Can't speak for the others.

On our second night there, a roach the size of a bunny rabbit was found crawling on the wall in the brides bedroom. We were immediately disgusted. Later that night, an additional four roaches were found. One in the kitchen, which was killed. One in the living room, which was also killed under magazines. And two under the bed in the brides bedroom, one alive and one dead. We immediately got in touch with the property manager Misty, but due to the late hours, we did not hear back until the next morning. Misty was informed of the disgusting situation and advised us that this same cottage has had a roach problem in the past. She told us she would contact the owner who was currently traveling, and in order for an exterminator to come spray, the cottage had to be emptied. We informed Misty we will be out all day on a boat and provided her with numerous phone numbers for her to contact with an update. She never called or followed up with anyone. We also told her that we would like to be moved, or quite honestly just leave and stay at a hotel. That night, a sixth roach was found. That was honestly the breaking point. Hotels were booked and ubers were called and we left there by 11:30 PM. We told Misty what was going on and wanted to come to an agreement of some sort of refund. Instead of responding to our calls and emails, they decided to charge us a $75 fee for "trashing" the cottage. We left in a hurry, and unopened food items were left behind. However, anything that was opened was disposed of and all the decorations were taken down. We were refunded the $75 and one nights stay, which quite honestly is not acceptable. The cottage was not livable. Not only were there 6 roaches, there were flies EVERYWHERE. Being married to an exterminator, I can honestly say that this cottage has a huge issue that is not being properly taken care of. We found multiple holes under the bed that lead to outside which is clearly where some of the roaches are coming from. Not only did we barely get responses from Misty, the owner, or booking.com, Misty also accused us of lying, putting rubber roaches all over the house, and disconnecting the WiFi. We had no idea the cottage even had WiFi and Misty admitted to not checking the cottage after the cleaning service left. Do not stay here. This place is disgusting and has a serious moisture problem.
