Buyer beware - Steer clear of this company! Buyer paid $47,500 for a new tiny home that was to be delivered from California to Ohio on May 19th. Six weeks later Buyer is living in a motel with possessions stored in a U-Haul. The new home has been stranded for weeks because it was built on a 40-year-old mobile home trailer that is unsafe/illegal for long distance hauls. A CHP inspection determined it a public safety hazard and condemned it until necessary repairs are made. Update 7/11/17. Have learned Seller purchases used mobile home trailers from Craig's List to build trailer homes on. The trailer caused damage to home in transit and could have seriously harmed or killed civilians. Trailer needed over $15,000 in repairs just to leave the state of California. See new pictures posted. John O'Connor (aka Farrel), owner of Tiny House Cottages, had the home towed from his lot (in Del Mar, CA) so he would "no longer be responsible for it." The trailer left his lot with used, improperly placed axles, faulty tires, a substandard trailer setup, and no trailer brake system. The transport was immediately aborted since the trailer home constantly fishtailed when traveling at only 30mph. The tiny home was essentially dumped at another lot 200 miles away (in Perris, CA). The Seller-arranged transporter couldn't finish the job because he "didn't have the right truck." Seller is obligated to arrange transport of homes but has repeatedly failed to do so. Seller blames problems on the drivers, saying they "flaked out" but he will not say why. Bottom line: Buyer pays for Seller's incompetence. Multiple transporters advised Buyer that, after seeing the trailer home, they would not risk the job because the trailer setup was unsafe/illegal to haul. On May 30th, a driver tried to do the transport, but notified Buyer that the load was oversized and the trailer was not prepped or wired as required by law. Driver could not legally tow the home from the lot. The faulty trailer provided by Seller caused damage to the home during initial transport. The tiny home frame was bent so the door won't close, the siding is damaged and separated from the house frame, and the inner drywall is cracked in many places. Interior wood molding is damaged and pulled from wall. Both A/C units are dented. The "new" appliances are used and stained. No manuals or instructions were included for the appliances or washer/dryer. The futon surface is covered in dirt and footprints. Hardwood floors are scratched and muddied. The outer steps to access the home were not provided as promised. While no house keys could be found, Seller did include several empty beer cans. Even though the tiny home was paid in full 5/12/17, Seller has not conveyed title or proof of ownership. After the initial aborted transport, Seller authorized a modification (repositioning of axles) to prevent further damage to the home. That work was faulty and created even more problems. The trailer weight was redistributed-now a single axle semi was required to pull the home. A Wisconsin transporter was hired because he had the perfect vehicle for the job, but arrived in California unable to transport the home because of inappropriate, poorly executed modifications authorized by Seller. Buyer had to pay another $2000 in repairs just to get the home towed out of the Perris, California lot (a third axle, tires and wheels, trailer brake system, and reinforced tongue hitch). These repairs were substandard, but Buyer had no choice since the trailer could not be moved from the lot without them. To date (7/3/17), Buyer has paid $19,988 over and above the purchase price to get this home delivered. Adding in hotel and temporary storage fees of $700/week, Seller has cost Buyer $23,948 in additional expenses. That's half the entire purchase price of the home! After delivery, there will be additional costs involved in repairing damages caused by Seller's negligence. Farrel (or Pharell, or Ferrel) has had ZERO response to these problems. Once paid, he refuses any communication with Buyer no matter how dire the circumstance. He spells his name several different ways, and refuses to give his surname. A private investigator identified him as John Pharell O'Connor. His LLC is not registered in the state of California, but in Nevada. He expects a 75% deposit, and a 25% final payment. Bank checks or wire transfer only. No form of payment in which he can be held accountable. Will not escrow payments through a reliable and neutral third party. Now a structural engineer must inspect the home before it can be occupied. Who knows how much repairs will cost. Ferrel refuses to respond to our questions. If other buyers have had similar experiences with this company or individual, we would appreciate hearing about them. read more

It was the best thing we did. It wasa one-time investment that saved thousands of dollars on travel and stays. Our caravan was one sustainable cottage that ecofriendly that we could carry with us anywhere across the states. It had an area of 220 square feet and had a unique angular roof. The interior was done beautifully, with the kitchen having counters and cabinets to hold all our essentials. A small washing machine was placed below the staircase that leads to a sleeping area. A sink, a fridge, a fully functioning toilet, and a shower were parts of our beautiful caravan. We got exactly what we wanted and to in an affordable price range. Travelers should go for these ideal custom-made caravans. These are best for travelling. read more

Farrell was very accommodating and willing to work with us to ensure we were satisfied with our tiny house. The Tiny house was delivered quickly and efficiently! It looks just as good in real life as it does in the pictures! We got a good price on our tiny house, and we are very happy with it. There really wasn't anything else comparable on the market for the price. Just note: we did have to install our own carpet in the loft and add furniture as there isn't much storage space built in. Farrell made sure we were aware of this. We bought it as a guest house/rental, and we love it! Some other reviews mentioned having issues, we haven't had any of those yet, but we just got it. You can tell the house we bought was produced at the lowest cost possible using inexpensive materials, hence the good deal we got, so if you want higher quality design and materials, you are going to have to pay extra for that. When I decided to move out of the house, I was looking for something different. Perhaps something that will help me save some extra dollars. I went through a lot of options available online but didn't find much. Then I came across some reviews on THC services, and I was quite impressed by their work. These services provide an ideal caravan on wheels with customizations you provide them with. I ordered mine with a small kitchenette and a functioning bathroom with a shower. My bedroom had a window above it and was made on the ground floor. Apart from this the caravan also had a second floor with a small office area where I could study and do my work. For a single person like me, it was the best thing to go for. While working and completing my studies, staying here helped me cut down a lot of my bills. Our small family thought of doing something different. With my wife and my three-year-old daughter, I decided to hop on the trend and move to a custom-made tiny cottage to spend a couple of years outside the city near mountains and greenery. While I was travelling for my business work, I realized the whole process would take longer than I thought earlier. I was nervous about spending money on a hotel room to stay in for that much period. I also did not want to spend my hard-earned money on expensive rents of the apartment. The idea of renting a big room for a single man to live in did not make sense to me. If you are adventurous and do not like living a monotonous lifestyle, you should go for a tiny house cottage. I wanted to break from my tiring lifestyle and travel around the state in my comfort. It was then that I contacted the THC services to get a custom-made cottage on wheels. My caravan is fully equipped to survive outside in mountains and raw regions away from human interference. My cottage was designed with a bedroom next to a small window on the ground floor, a small space opposite it for the kitchen and a staircase leading to a space above where I could work in the evening.
