If I had a lot of money and I never had to work again, I would create a place like Lazy Moon Ranch,…read moreand I would be forever happy. Just a place where animals can live out their lives in peace, and where every day is Halloween, with a barn that's been converted to a haunted house, and an outdoor space full of games and fun surprises around every corner. A place outside where you can create art with the farm animals who live with you, and just be surrounded by color and zaniness. A visit to Lazy Moon Ranch is a must if you're in the Augusta area. You'll have a lot of fun playing wall ball, disc golf, playing on the playground, fishing in the fishing hole, racing ducks and lots more. There are animals everywhere that you can interact with. (Feed a capybara or pygmy goat!) Pet a donkey! Watch a tortoise go from one house to another. It's hard to describe Lazy Moon Ranch, but it reminds me a lot of Pee-wee's Playhouse: there's something interesting to look at around every corner. One of the things that Lazy Moon Ranch specializes in is painting parties, where you can paint with alpacas. I didn't know what to expect with this activity, because I'm always wary of animals, but the alpacas are very gentle and tame, and the painting activity is structured enough that it put me at ease. Our instructor, the owner, is an artist herself, so she made the painting lesson easy to follow and fun. I walked away with a really cool painting! Afterward, you can feed the alpacas. Lazy Moon Ranch also celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. You can tell from the haunted house they have in their barn, and all of the Halloween decorations everywhere. This is the place for any Halloween lover to visit, for sure. This is one of those places where it's difficult to describe just how great it is, because you need to visit to experience it. So: Just visit Lazy Moon Ranch! It will probably be one of the most unique and memorable places you have ever visited.

Their prices were totally reasonable, they were awesome to work with, and they were extremely professional. They showed up early and were fully prepared to setup in any location we desired. They setup a pen in the back yard and created their amazing petting zoo which for this occasion included an alpaca, 2 miniature goats, a miniature pony, a miniature donkey, a 2-week-old baby lamb, a duck, a chicken, and a bunny. The animals were clearly loved, well looked after, and clean. They are a family business and all 4 of them came (Mom, Dad, son, and daughter). Everyone had a specific job so things were safe and fun for the kids. The kids LOVED it and we got pictures that will last us a lifetime! If an animal left a dropping (which they will) it was instantly cleaned up off the grass! At the end, they left my yard EXACTLY the way they found it with absolutely no evidence that a petting zoo had ever been there. Not one rogue alpaca poo! Every parent came to me asking for their information because they wanted to book them for their next kids party. I can't wait to take my son to their ranch because the pictures on their site look amazing! These people are professional, the animals are friendly, and the combination of fun and education is something both parent and child can appreciate together. I think they should change their name to Five Points Ranch though because they are clearly a 5 star place!!!

Started off with a wonderful fresh herbaceous salad with crisp asparagus and a lively house made vinegar dressing. Although the menu described it as a soup, we were still very happy with what this course and we enjoyed it immensely. The homemade bread was beautifully crafted and had subtle Indian spiced tones. It was warm and fresh. The second course was 3 perfectly cooked scallops on a bed of heavenly mushrooms and oats with a light mushroom sauce. 10/10! I could eat that everyday and it would not become tiresome! For the entree, I had the short ribs, which were melt in your mouth delicious. Meanwhile husband enjoyed the beautifully prepared pork belly. Deserts were not a let down at all. Notably the Carmel sauce and rich chocolate torte was perfectly balanced. We did enjoy the wine pairings, although did wonder why the establishment would choose to serve a heavy red with the scallop course. However it did seem to work in some degree. Points of refinement: I wish the server was more educated on the wines we were served. For example she could only tell us it's a great Cabernet. And when probed for more information, she was not prepared to explain more. Additionally a more detailed explanation about the courses, the ingredients, and the preparation would have been so appreciated. And wrapping up leftovers as a service should be customary. Small points of refinement would elevate the dining experience. The restaurant is warm and welcoming with an abundance of natural light. The decor is beautiful and inviting. The farmhouse factor definitely screams fresh. I hope the chef continues on their journey as this was an unexpected experience not soon to be forgotten. It really was a 5 star meal and i look forward to returning here should I ever return to Wichita.

Since the Sedgwick County Zoo was so close to home and we hadn't made it out here yet, we finally checked it out, and it is officially our #1 favorite zoo of all time. If you have small kids, this place is a dream layout-wise. Instead of a weird, exhausting two-mile trek to the opposite side of the park, it's laid out in a super convenient loop. It made walking around with little ones an absolute breeze, and there are plenty of rest spots so the kids didn't hit a wall. Everything feels so immersive and surprising. My kids are obsessed with reptiles, and their reptile building is massive easily the biggest we've ever walked into. The indoor tropic biome is stunning, and getting to feed a giraffe, take the boat ride, and see so many active, visible animals made our kids' faces light up the entire day. Add in affordable food and friendly staff, and it's a 10/10 experience. Cannot recommend this place enough for families!
