Appears like a large building from the outside but is actually a small quaint space that is clean and well kept. Service was awesome and we felt welcome even though it was quite clear we were tourists traveling in. I imagine this place runs in to out of towners a lot but they treated us kindly and, if we lived here, we would definitely put this spot on rotation. Our sandwiches were amazing. My partner got the one with plantains in it and that one definitely stole the show. I liked my tinta y cafe sandwich, but her's was a star. Never been to this restaurant before. But we were excited to try a new Cuban restaurant. The staff worked together as a team and they worked quick with no mistakes. A plus! The inside was cozy and packed. Which is always a good sign. What a treat! The ham croquetas here I have to say are the best in Florida in my opinion! They have such a unique spanish flavor that I never tasted in croquetas anywhere. That there is what makes it special. I have never tasted such delicious ham croquetas in my life. I also ordered the beef pastry. So delicious as well. I wish these were more popular in general. That was so satisfying. Now every time I eat croquetas it's going to be a disappointment. It's a shame this restaurant isn't located in East Orlando. It would make life easier . Well I can't go on just about the croquetas, everything else we tried was delicious! No complaints! This place is a gem! Parking is hell so if you can get there any other way, do but it was worth the aggravation of finding a spot. The Cafe con leche could use some work as its just machine made and good but not at the level of the food. The El pecado, was very sweet maybe too sweet after a bit. All that a side the food here is next level! The patria sandwich is hands down the best cuban sandwich I ever had, and I've had many. So I always get a cortadito con leche evaporada because thats how I love my coffee, I loved it so good I ordered a cafe con leche after. My boyfriend got el pecado which is cuban coffee, and both regular milk and leche condensada. We got some croquetas to split, THE BEST spinach croquetas you can ever have in your life, and some JUMBO delicious flavorful croquetas de jamon. We came here twice back to back so I posted all the sandwiches from both nights. The first one I forgot the name to, its like a turkey BLT of some sort, pretty good but I got the cuban sandwich which is of course a classic. The pork was SO good I insisted I got the pan con lechon the next time I went, which i also forgot the name of this one. Seating is limited and its first come. Or if you're on the go you can order at the walk up window. I got there for the breakfast menu which was perfect. The breakfast menu was perfect for my picky eater of a kiddo. You are able to build your own sandwich or plate. Which means you select how you want your eggs cooked, type of bread, type of cheese and sauce. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and manchego cheese mixed in together. As for the bread, I got media noche with calena sauce which is a cilantro sauce but it was very mild spread on like a baguette style bread. My kiddo got eggs, ham and manchego cheese on a croissant. Our were served on a plate and you can either build your own sandwich or just eat it right off the plate. As for my husband he got El Patria sandwich which is ham, pork, mortadella with Swiss cheese and mustard on Cuban bread. His was served with plantain chips. When you go to Miami you have to try Cuban food especially when it's on the Michelin guide! This place is a cute cafe. A hole in the wall type of feel with a very tight parking lot. You can tell a lot of locals come here but it is more popular than your typical hole in the wall. The food is good! Cuban breakfast sandwiches and pastries and of course strong and good Cuban coffee. Have been wanting to try this spot out for a while and was really excited to finally stop by. My friend and I were offered a seat at the community table (which is a cool concept) as long as you're open for it. But after we sat down our server let us know two seats at the counter became available so we switched it up and it was cool because you get to see them prep the sandwiches. For sandwiches we went with the Tinta y Cafe and Madurito and split them. They were both good but the Tinta y Cafe was super depcious. Each sandwich came with mariquitas which is nice. I finished a little before my friend and we were asked multiple times if we were finished. My friend made a comment that she felt like we were being rushed out (at this point a new server had taken over our table) and I brushed her off because we had only been there in the restaurant about 40 min tops at that point. The newer server dropped off the card reader. But we told her we wanted to order a colada (which I had told our original server I was gonna want a coffee after the sandwiches) and a few croquetas to go. A little while later my coffee came and our new server asked us to finish the coffee standing because other people came in. Idk but that left a really bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to sit and enjoy my coffee and we were still waiting on the to go order. I felt a little awkward just standing in the doorway with my coffee cup and to go sandwich bag under my arm. It sucked because we had just been talking about how much of a fun time we were having and how we wanted to come back. So a little disappointed in that regard. Came by for breakfast after arriving in Miami early in the day. We decided to come to Tinta y Cafe cause their sandwiches looked great! They have both outdoor and indoor seating but when you do outdoor seating, you order at the window and just take a seat. We didn't know that so we just sat inside. The establishment is pretty small, not a whole lot of tables. If you have a large group, there's really only one big table to sit at. I decided to get their iced cafe con leche, which is essentially a latte. I believe I got it at less sweet. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan. The espresso that they used was not as dark as I am used to so the coffee flavor was really muted by the milk. It wasn't too sweet, which was nice. I got their breakfast sandwich, which had scrambled egg, swiss cheese, crispy ham, and guava jam on media noche bread. This was delicious. The guava jam added a nice sweetness to it so it was a combo of sweet and savory. Definitely recommend! My husband got their Calena sandwich, which has turkey, prosciutto, Manchego cheese, tomato, red onion, fresh cilantro, and house-made cilantro mayo. It was good as well -- not too heavy at all. The tomato, red onion, and cilantro gave freshness to it. One of my friends got a ham croquetta and guava & cheese pastelito. The guava & cheese pastelito was delicious. I've never had a guava pastry where the guava jam actually tastes like guava. Weird, I know. Came to Tinta y Cafe for breakfast after we arrived in Miami early in the morning during our recent visit. Tinta y Cafe is as they described it, a "neighborhood coffee house" owned by a family. Unbeknowingly, Tinta y Cafe is actually a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, for its good quality and value ! Small, homey interior in unique standalone building, with a window you can order to-go on the outside, or theres a few small tables and 1 bigger one in the middle inside. Upon entry, I had seen a little clear case with pastries so that was something i NEEDED to get. Had ordered a CAFE CON LECHE to wake up after an overnight flight but as previously said, ordered a HAM CROQUETA and GUAVA & CHEESE PASTELITO as well as their own named EL "TINTA Y CAFE" sandwich. CAFE CON LECHE - "coffee with milk" or in other words, a latte. Not as strong as we had hoped. Was light. HAM CROQUETA - When i think of croquette's, I often think of the japanese version which is mainly mashed potato based. Tinta y Cafe's version is almost all HAM with a crispy exterior. It wasn't a SOLID chunk of ham but chopped up and somehow kept together. Not overly salty but I did take smaller bites to savor it, otherwise it would easily be popped in the mouth and disappear. GUAVA & CHEESE PASTELITO - there are other options like guava, cheese, and beef as well but being from the west coast, and LOVE Porto's, i decided to get guava and cheese which is the type of strudel I get at Porto's to compare. VERY FLAKY puff pastry on the outside encompassing an UNBELIEVABLE amount of DELICIOUS guava jam and cream cheese?. Exterior was so light, crispy, and flaky. Its almost unfair to compare it to the Porto's one because its SO different !! highly recommend a try of at least the guava, if you are a fan of guava and not cheese/cream cheese. EL TINTA Y CAFE sandwich includes pork, proscuitto, manchego, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions in a deliciously crispy exterior but soft chewy interior bread (we were discussing how this bread would be so good with like Vietnamese banh mi's, etc). There's been plenty of times I've categorized as the perfect casual breakfast spot in the Gables with a lowkey vibe. The breakfast items are the favorites(sandwiches, croquetas, eggs, cafecito, etc) we are known for. The Tunabonito is often my frequent favorite although their croissants are quite delicious as well. When you need a proper espresso beverage (iced or hot) they certainly deliver. I like this spot because it's close to my house and it's easy to access. The interior design here is gorgeous. They have a mid-century modern style assortment of chairs and couches with natural light to set the mood. The ventanita is a solid option as well if you prefer to take your order to go. There are several parking spots but during busier weekend breakfast hours, it can be difficult to access. It's little spots like this that keep the Gables special. I dig it. read more

The decor, ambience, people. I usually order the croqueton or game 7 sandwhich (both amazing), but you can't go wrong with most things on the menu. I also believe they are the only walk up window in the gables (I could be wrong) so if you're feeling just a coffee and croquetas, you can do that too. It is not a big place, so expect to wait a few minutes to get a seat or get your food/drinks at the window. I would say that's the only thing about it I don't like, but this also feels by design. I've come by to Tinta y Café ventanita twice recently. The first for cortadito and a mini toast and this recent time for cortaditos, a regular Cuban toast, and a regular sized italiano 1 sandwich. The cortaditos are stellar here. Great balance of espresso, milk and foam. The Cuban toast with butter is so yummy, warm and fresh. I'm hooked. The italiano 1 sandwich had mozzarella, tomato, basil, tomato jam and basil oil. It was tasty and fresh. They include a little bag of plantain chips. Staff was helpful and friendly. I haven't sat inside yet as it's been via the window but the inside looks cute and chill. Good prices, fresh/quality food, and great coffee. Definitely will come back again soon! read more

One of the best spots I went to for coffee in Miami. Their takeout window was super efficient. I loved the vibe, sitting in front people watching. It's one a main avenue. Their coffees were on point. The cafe con leche, and the cortadito, wow! My wife loved their version of a Cuban sandwich. I loved their vegetarian sandwich options. Heads up, their hours do not necessarily match what shows up on Google Maps, so check their website or instagram first, and then get there a half hour earlier than the posted closing.
