Hard to say what is the best thing about this place. Is it the food ? Yes for sure this time I had the Gallego - cantimpalo, prosciutto, tomato, manchego, garlic confit. It was amazing with the garlic confit putting it over the top. And you get a small or large so not some overpriced over large sandwich. They also have a daily special that looked really good. Maybe it's the ambiance? For sure it's just a cool building with high ceilings and decorated their words like your tias house. It's just cool old typewriters, mud century lamps and furniture. Great spot to hang out. They have a few outdoor tables and a bar. The place is not large but it's really very cool. Maybe it the coffe? I had a rude and unprofessional experience with the barista working today (8/28/26) - purple hair, lots of eye makeup, did not get her name. After ordering my drinks and receiving them, she felt the need to hold up the line and single me out in front of everyone to inform me that she "wouldn't order" the way I ordered. Not telling me that I couldn't, but that *she* wouldn't. It came across incredibly self-important and petty. For context, I ordered two double espressos and paid an additional $1 for each cup of oat milk on the side. This is on the menu. I didn't ask for anything outrageous, yet she seemed perturbed that I ordered what I paid for. I have a newborn and have replaced oat milk whenever I use 'milk' because my supply has been very low and oats are said to aid in lactation support. I'm pumping breastmilk in the car every time I drive and nursing throughout the day. I'm doing everything in my power to consume as many lactation supporting foods as I can. I PAID FOR IT. I paid nearly $13 for two beverages, I didn't ask for anything free or try to do anything inappropriate. Yet I was treated with such odd hostility from the barista. She even made some comment about it being "a lot of cups", except it was just the two cups of milk where I poured the espresso into. She very simply could have poured the espresso into the cup of milk and ice, but apparently that was not something she was willing to do. So it seems the two little paper espresso cups going to 'waste' are because of her method of preparation and service. I didn't ask for special treatment or any exceptions to be made for me, I ordered off the menu. I paid for the milk and I paid for the espresso. The semantics of what I do with what I pay for is not of the barista's concern. I would encourage some supplemental training or remove oat milk from the menu if customers are going to be spoken to disrespectfully for buying it. read more

Truly one of its kind, Tinta y Cafe has some of the most delicious cuban-style sandwiches in town. Not just that, but for the price-point, variety, and quality; it doesn't compare to many in town. My go to and my suggestion if you are a first timer is their madurito. It is one of their classics and most beloved, and a personal favorite too. When I go by myself and order the mini, I tend to have left overs and I have found that when I go with my partner, the regular is more than enough for both! Each sandwich somes with some platanitos, which are a perfect combo, and I would suggest you order un jugo de parchita (or maracuya) or try their beloved coffee. As a matcha lover, I recently heard they started offering matcha as well which I am SO excited to try. Put me in the "sees Chef once, must try a Cubano" camp. We had two days to spend in Miami and we wanted to make sure we would get at least one breakfast here. Appears like a large building from the outside but is actually a small quaint space that is clean and well kept. Service was awesome and we felt welcome even though it was quite clear we were tourists traveling in. I imagine this place runs in to out of towners a lot but they treated us kindly and, if we lived here, we would definitely put this spot on rotation. Our sandwiches were amazing. My partner got the one with plantains in it and that one definitely stole the show. I liked my tinta y cafe sandwich, but her's was a star. We dined in on a weekday. We were seated at the bar as there weren't any tables available (there are only 3 inside). To say this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had would be an understatement. The bread was pillowy soft, the eggs were cooked to perfection , the cheese was beautifully melty. However, if you are not on the move, the interior is just as welcoming as your Abuelita's living room with a kind staff that greets the locals like family. LOVE!! This restaurant really lives up to the hype. You can tell why they have so many Michelin recognitions. First of all, it looks very unassuming from the outside, almost like a house or residence. As you walk in, it's a very retro and casual feel, buzzing with people, and it has a really great ambience. There are small tables and communal tables and they encourage you to be present rather than being stuck on your computer doing work. It felt like a very local place and everyone was having conversations and enjoying the food, both at the counter and at the tables. They have lots of books on the bookshelves for both children and adults to enjoy as well as some cool pieces like typewriters and retro lamps. The service was great, the food came out fast, and we absolutely loved it. First of all the cafe con leche was absolutely delicious, we got it with less sugar, and it was to die for. Note- they do have a coffee window that you can walk up to if you don't want to sit for food. We also got the sandwiches-- I got the vegetarian sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, and I love how they sliced the sandwich which was made on a tiny baguette and pressed. It tasted fresh, with lots of veggies, goat, cheese, and delicious garlic, aïoli. And it comes with some fresh plantain chips, which are also delicious. We also got a small cookie to eat with the coffee, which was nice. Overall, the meal was a delicious and it was a super cozy and enjoyable experience. Cubano vibes con a relax atmosphere. This place hit the spot for my craving. Inside seating is community seating which means you may share part of the table with another group of people. Seating is limited and its first come. Or if you're on the go you can order at the walk up window. I got there for the breakfast menu which was perfect. Which means you select how you want your eggs cooked, type of bread, type of cheese and sauce. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and manchego cheese mixed in together. As for the bread, I got media noche with calena sauce which is a cilantro sauce but it was very mild spread on like a baguette style bread. My kiddo got eggs, ham and manchego cheese on a croissant. Our were served on a plate and you can either build your own sandwich or just eat it right off the plate. As for my husband he got El Patria sandwich which is ham, pork, mortadella with Swiss cheese and mustard on Cuban bread. His was served with plantain chips. Have been wanting to try this spot out for a while and was really excited to finally stop by. My friend and I were offered a seat at the community table (which is a cool concept) as long as you're open for it. But after we sat down our server let us know two seats at the counter became available so we switched it up and it was cool because you get to see them prep the sandwiches. For sandwiches we went with the Tinta y Cafe and Madurito and split them. They were both good but the Tinta y Cafe was super depcious. Each sandwich came with mariquitas which is nice. I finished a little before my friend and we were asked multiple times if we were finished. My friend made a comment that she felt like we were being rushed out (at this point a new server had taken over our table) and I brushed her off because we had only been there in the restaurant about 40 min tops at that point. The newer server dropped off the card reader. But we told her we wanted to order a colada (which I had told our original server I was gonna want a coffee after the sandwiches) and a few croquetas to go. A little while later my coffee came and our new server asked us to finish the coffee standing because other people came in. Idk but that left a really bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to sit and enjoy my coffee and we were still waiting on the to go order. I felt a little awkward just standing in the doorway with my coffee cup and to go sandwich bag under my arm.
