Review Highlights - Tint Specialists West

I ended up choosing Scott since I'd researched the tint I preferred and he was the only one that offered the high quality brand I wanted.

From start to finish, Solar Shade Window Tint completely exceeded my expectations. I reached out to…read moreseveral window tint companies, and they stood out immediately with their responsiveness and professionalism. I work in a fast-paced industry, so I don't always have the flexibility to jump on calls during the day. The fact that we were able to communicate through Facebook Messenger made everything incredibly convenient. Their team responded quickly, answered all of my questions, and explained the entire process in a way that actually made sense. That level of service alone set them apart. While other companies either didn't respond at all or gave short, unhelpful replies, Solar Shade Window Tint went above and beyond. The ladies at the front desk were especially wonderful--so kind, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant to work with. They made the entire experience feel smooth and stress-free. Even while I was checking in, one of the technicians came into the lobby, took the time to answer a few additional questions, and was incredibly kind and professional. It really showed how much the entire team cares about their customers. I also drove about 40 minutes one way to work with them, and I can confidently say it was 100% worth it. If you're looking for a company that values communication, professionalism, and customer experience, Solar Shade Window Tint is it. Highly recommend!

The job was done well with the exception of a few bubble spots they said should disappear, if not…read morebring it back in. I rated it a 3 star due to the absurd charge they will put on your credit card if you charge and the fact I wasn't told that upon my initial quote. It would have added another $75 just to have the privilege of charging on my CC. So I said I would use my debit card instead, she said the same charge applies. I thought that was odd so so I looked it up after the fact and found that most credit card companies prohibit merchants from surcharging debit card transactions. So had I known that I would have probably left. My opinion is most of your customers are probably going to charge given the cost and that's just a part of doing business and not pawn off your surcharge fees to your customers. I previously owned a business so I know the process and didn't charge it to my customers. I left after dropping it off to get cash so my wife picked me up since they said it would 3 or more hours to complete. The cost to do a full ceramic UV film on my GMC Truck was rather high in my opinion at $710 but I chose to pay it anyway so the bad is on me if I didn't want the job done. This wasn't my original quote because I had them add the clear UV film to the passenger and rear windows since the factory tint has zero UV heat protection according to what they told me. Overall the job was done well! But the extreme additional costs at the end of the job that made me leave to get cash made the whole experience less than satisfactory. I will continue to watch the UV film clear up in some spots as they said and will update the review if I have problems.

I went against everything I believed in and decided to opt out of my other tint place to go here…read morefor three reasons. The positive reviews, distance from where I live and price. I should of just stopped at the "positive reviews". I have a lifetime warranty with the product and service I purchased but at this point I've probably wasted more time than it's worth. I wanted to have my driver and passenger windows stripped and match my truck all around for the longest but never wanted to make the trip out to beach so eventually I saw a deal on Groupon and this place was in my area. I called one morning and Don had a spot open and gave me the prices, cool I had it done that day. Now here for my experience.... 1st Trip - The waiting room has a tattoo parlor setup which consisted of a couch and TV with Netflix going. They do smoke in the tinting area so be expected to deal with the stench of cigarette odor. I liked the setup but I walked outside since I couldn't deal with the smell anymore. They stripped my front windows, replace my tint and I payed a little extra for them to put on a strip for my front windshield. As I finally got on the road I realized that the tint he has installed is darker than the ones I have on the rear doors and the back. I was hoping it just needed drying so I called and he said he matched the percentage and put on the same shade I had on the back. Now my truck from the inside looks like I have darker tint in the front than I do in the rear, thanks. Also, there's just a mess from the chemicals and there's drippings everywhere on my dash and side panels. Ugh. 2nd Trip - After a week or so when the tint was fully dried, bubbles started forming in the windows and the strip on my front windshield started peeling so I made a trip back up there. He informed me that the glue was not cleaned off all the way and that I would just need to have the windows redone. I told him that was fine but I wanted something a little lighter since my front is darker than the rear. He did not have the shade that was slightly lighter in stock but said he would have it after the weekend which will be Monday. He fixed the front strip by creasing it out and said it was peeling because the way the mirror was set up, well why the hell was it installed in the first place? 3rd Trip - I came up there on Monday and he said that since it was a holiday that the tint did not get delivered by UPS and that it will be in within a few days. The front strip peeled again. 4th Trip - I showed up on Friday and still, the tint percentage I was told that would be here wasn't and that it was "not in stock". I said heck with it and replace it with the closest thing because driving around with the bubbles was driving me crazy and I wanted to get it over with. Same process and same result... My truck was left with chemical stains and dripping which I had to detail out again (thank goodness they didn't do my whole truck) and my handles are peeled, I'm assuming from their heat gun. I'm just hoping for the best now. 5th Trip - Two months later, I started getting these HUGE bubbles towards the bottom and you can tell from just standing outside so I'm hoping he can crease it out without replacing the tint again. I took it there, he creased it out and when I got home it popped up again. Not coming back. Ever. So long story short. I wasted money and so much time with five trips here to end up having my truck with the same exact tint percentage I had before coming here with some big ass bubbles and a peeled up windshield strip. I don't drive a luxury car or expect a perfect tinting job but I do expect the job to get done right if not the first time at least the second. I'm going to take my truck to where I should have went all along and have them fix everything and spend a little more money on quality. DISCLAIMER: After doing some research I found out that different type of films will determine the transparency of the tint. Go with something with better quality and it will give you a better transparency from inside your vehicle although it will seem darker from outside, not the other way around. Unless that's what you want....
