We found the place on Regency Road, amongst various shop fronts on the busy road. It wasn't the biggest of space upon entering, however, it was bright, filled with natural light and real plants. The shabby chic look worked well against the cool white walls. The fittings and furniture has clearly been recycled and / or upcycled from various op shops. It was well put together. The place was packed! And loud! We sat on the square communal table with strangers as that was the only option. Nothing wrong with that. The place wouldn't hold more than 30 patrons comfortably. Once we have decided, we placed our orders at the counter. We were advised that they were sold out of the rosticcceria items, rather disappointing as that was what I wanted. This was one of their baked-in-house items. My friend ordered the smashed avocado with riccotta on focaccia and i had the cheese pizza, with pancetta and rocket ordered as extras. Her meal came out in a timely manner, but mine did not come out till she has finished. When it did come out, my raw pancetta did not look appetising, so I requested for it to be cooked. When it returned, it looked slightly better and because I was famished, I slowly ate it with little excitement. The pizza was so dry, it was a bit of a challenge trying to enjoy it. To their credit, they did tell me that there is no sauce on the pizza. The cheese was actually baked inside the bread. Perhaps I didn't pick right, but it was the driest pizza I have ever had. My friend wasn't impressed with her smashed avocado either. She found it bland and rather boring. So, she modified it by adding salt and chilli flakes to make it more interesting. Perhaps we both lucked out with our selections, but the wait was a massive factor, especially when our meals was delivered separately. Pricepoint - very reasonable. Most expensive item was $18.00 Will I return? Maybe in 3 months time after they have settled in more and worked out their teething issues.

Mind you, despite the fact that this pub has been around for ages, I have rarely been inside, but that is probably because it does happen to be an old man's pub with a rather limited beer selection. They've obviously undergone their own transformation and revamps recently as a lot of the fittings seemed fresh, clean and up to date. The dining room layout was good and flowed quite well. Coming into the main bistro entrance theres a "to be seated" point where a waiter hands you menus and points you to the right direction on where to find yourself a table. The meal ordering counter was right next to this. So it's very easy to find your way once walking in. The menu I didn't find was very vast. They're huge on their Steaks as it seems. A section of the menu was devoted to them. Aside from that- usual pub fare with Schnitzels, Seafood, starters etc. Some key favourites I feel were missing off the menu, or perhaps I feel they could've got a little further with menu options. The salad bar I was quite impressed with. They had a good selection of colds along with the hot choices. Colds included things like pasta and potato salads, coleslaw, a corn salad. That's all I'm remembering. The hot side had things like roasted potatoes and carrots, potato bake, veggie bake, steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Couple things they also had for choice which I hadn't seen anywhere else was a stir fry noodles and fried rice, which was quite delicious- full of flavour!! My group ordered a cheesy garlic bread and plain garlic bread for starters. They were quite impressive for the small price we paid. Plain garlic bread was $3 and seemed like a full generous serving at that price. The cheesy version was a couple dollars more but just as impressive. In the end my group went with pub favourites- Schnitzels with gravies. They were also quite impressive I found, especially after the entree and salad bar bites. The chicken was nicely crumbed, breast not too thin and not too thick, and is probably one of the best ones I've had! The Porterhouse Schnitzel was huge, which is usually no surprise really, but this one seemed to go the extra mile!! Only tiff was perhaps the sauce could've been a more generous serving, but I feel these small ramicans are usually a thing in pubs. The Hampstead Hotel was well received by us. Felt very comfortable and welcomed by the friendly bar and waiting staff. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend for a cozy, casual, easy and filling pub meal.

Royston Park Cafe, you had me at boozy brunch! Oh yes, this café offers a very impressive brunch…read moremenu accompanied with a range of alcoholic bevvys so either start your weekend right or fight that hangover. This is definitely one of those "word of mouth" cafés that the locals hoard to themselves. Well, not anymore! I am making a record for others to enjoy Royston Park residents! Sorry! In the backstreets of Royston Park, just near Marden Shopping Centre you will find this café. There is a lot of seating, inside and out. Best part is that doggies are welcome. The menu here is large and customisable. I was instructed to order the Tagliolini with blue swimmer crab and salsa rosa. But, with the addition of a poached egg ontop (Thank you Jordan G.). To which I answered, hells yeah pasta for brunch! Gimmie! The pasta itself was really well made. Fresh, homemade and cooked well. What I liked about the rosa sauce and crab as that it complimented the pasta. Just as it is served traditionally. So, as if it was not the centre stage of the dish, it brings it all together. The sauce was creamy, the crab was flaked and evenly portioned through the pasta. What a great flavour! Blue Crab is something that is truly worth celebrating in Australia. It works so well in a dish like this. Well done chef! I did need to add a bit more seasoning, but that could just be my salt inclined palate. Finally, I can see why Jordan likes that poached egg ontop, it just gives an extra depth and richness to the dish. As for the café, you want to get in early. They don't take bookings. This place seems to get packed out, even though it is hidden away from the main streets. But, do know that if you have to wait for a table, it's worth it!

The owners seem genuinely nice and happy to have you there. Great service! Coffees were delivered fast and hot hot hot! Very smooth coffee, although I did add a sugar to sweeten. I ordered the eggs-your-way on toast (my way = scrambled) with mushrooms and spinach, for a very nice price of $12.90. I did need some bacon though, which was an extra $4 (which I find a bit steep) but the portion size was very generous. My partner in crime got the big breakfast with.....2 fried eggs, sourdough toast, homemade baked beans, tomato, spinach, mushrooms, bacon and sausage! What a mouthful (literally!) ! I found the food delicious. Maybe slightly oily (the spinach) but overall I was really satisfied and full to the brim. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and as it was such a lovely sunny day, we sat outside. Only downside for me would be its on the corner of a road, so cars go past a bit, and there is a big Telstra public phone box right in front of outdoor seating area. Which they can't help, but it would be nice to enjoy the leafy street without that in your eyesight. It's a fairly quiet & peaceful street though, with lots of puppy dogs and their owners strolling past. Overall - a lovely place for breakfast! Thank you!

We asked for a menu and sat down and noticed the menu was pretty much a standard breakfast menu minus the healthier or more foodie special options befitting a gourmet cooking school. So I went up to order and after we ordered I noticed there was a specials board (which you wouldn't necessarily expect to see for breakfast) which was hidden from view from the dining area. Luckily it had one green Juice and two healthier more interesting breakfast options so we changed our order. It's surprising they didn't direct us to the menu board when we were given the menu. The green juice was excellent, and so was the mushrooms on toast. The creamed oats were not too creamy, just right. The coffee was terrible, the worst I have seen for a while. A 'flat white' is normally not literally white! The 'crema' on the top was white with not a tinge of brown and it tasted over milky as well.

I wasn't sure that it would live up to the hype--I mean, look at all these 5 star reviews! I am pleased to say that it did. Great staff, very friendly and helpful, delicious food and coffee and another place in Adelaide that make a great flat white with a shot of vanilla. Excellent! Our little group sat at the back table and chatted while we had our drinks and our brunch. The only real negative here (and it's a little one) is that the table wasn't cleared of our plates once we'd finished eating. And we stayed there for an hour after finishing our food, so that was a bit meh. Otherwise, E for Ethel is a nice little hideaway in North Adelaide and I can see why it's so popular and well-loved. Will be back for sure.
