A cute toy shop that has a lot of new and nostalgic toys and games but pretty pricey like a lot of places in town. There are a lot of things in this store to ogle and pine for. I purchased a game that toy don't normally find in big box stores and after checking online, saw that it was priced rather fairly. Other reviews have noted the huge markup which is probably true on certain things. Know what something is worth or do a quick search to see if you're willing to pay for it. Wifey and I were up in Woodstock before Christmas and stopped in here again. A few years back we were here and I bought a small Edgar Allan Poe figure (my favorite author)...it was a little pricey, but I wanted it. This year we stopped in again, and they do still have a pretty cool inventory, but the prices for some of the stuff I wanted was just way too much. So glad to see we are not the only ones treated absolutely disgracefully by the woman who owns this store. I was just shopping with my two kids 5 and 3, in a packed store of over priced gimmicky "toys", while the owner followed my 3 year old son around while he played with a shark stuffed animal. He was told to put it back and then she continued to follow him and told him not to touch anything. This is a toy store yes? Perhaps it should read no children allowed because she came up to me and said "we have a ton of new inventory to put away now.' I said "okay? Why are you telling me this? Would you like us to leave?" She said " yes, actually." I am FLOORED. I live in area and we have been there several times before. I asked her name she tells me she's actually the owner. So I said wow in front of the other 20 patrons how absolutely disgusting we were treated/ I'll be telling all of my local friends to stay far away. It was a nice store and had lots of cute, fun, and interesting items for my kid. However, $17 jumbo crayons that I found online cost $6? That's a big difference that just makes me feel like a fool. If I paid a few extra bucks for the convenience and to support a local store, I'd be totally okay with that but paying $11 more? We won't be returning. read more

This store is amazing in so many different ways that I can't list all of them, so I'm going to state the most important details. #1 It's a kid friendly environment.#2 The person who owns the store is very loving towards children.#3 When I went into the store, everything was so organized. This is a cute store, but the woman who works/owns this store is incredibly unpleasant. Not sure why someone like this would ever open a store that is geared to tourists but she clearly wants to be somewhere else. I'm so disheartened that a shop so fun to bring my children with great quality toys was such a disappointment. The woman working there (I believe the owner) was so cold and gave off a bad vibe. It's a small shop so you can't quite escape the awkwardness. Then my well-behaved 3 year old announced he had to go pee-pee bad. She refused to let us use restroom. Really??? You're a CHILDREN'S store!!! She told me to go down the street to the cafe. I wanted so badly to tell him there was no potty and to go. I am not going to get long-winded about this. We are talking a toy store here. I just don't understand the negative reviews so I had to chime in. This is a very cute toy store located smack dab in the middle of Tinker Street. They have a great selection of original, small, inexpensive toys for you to buy for the child in your life without breaking the bank. Some very clever old school toys I have not found in years. I'm not sure who loved this little, jam-packed store more...me, or my almost-four-year old. It is small in size, but huge of options. So many fun, unique and cool gifts and gadgets. Tinker Toys! I Love this place and I stop by every time I'm in Woodstock. I usually come across things I am not looking for that interest me. Its not your name-brand, tacky, huge toy store. It has unique toys. Old-school toys from my childhood, and toys that you can actually play with and learn from. Scratch off maps and cool pencils. This isn't just a toy store for kids. Each time I have been here the adults seem to have as much fun as the kids! There is ample parking around the corner for free, which, if you have been to the area is super super awesome. I can pay however I want, and the staff isn't overbearing. They will help you if you need help, and they will leave you be if you need to be left alone. The perfect mix if you ask me... Overall, best toy store I've been to in a long time! read more

Awesome quirky little toy store right in the center of Woodstock. They have everything from puzzles and games for young kids to funny oddball things for teens/adults, really a store for all ages. I love coming in here whenever I'm in town, there's always something new in stock, definitely worth checking out. A must-stop for anyone looking for a great present for a child of any age (from newborns to pre-teens), a walk down memory lane (tons of classic games from the 1940's and since), or really, anything quirky and fun (Bernie Sanders action figure? bacon-shaped bandaids? smallest fidget spinner ever?). It's astounding how much they stuff into such a relatively small space - you could spend over an hour (and my family has, multiple times) just gazing at all the toys, gadgets, building kits and art projects filling the floor-to-ceiling shelves. You will definitely find something unique, and usually very high-quality too -- not the cheap plastic junk usually found at the big-chain stores. read more

Why has no one reviewed this place? This place hasn't changed much since I was a kid. Lots of novelty toys and prank stuff. The old lady at the register reminds me of everyone's grandma. Great place to bring kids. And if you're a young adult like me, you'll still appreciate seeing all the stuff you pranked your older sister with when you were a kid is still in production. read more

The first time I spent a weekend in Woodstock I went into this shop because the windows looked so cute. However, the woman working was really unpleasant. I felt very uncomfortable as if myself and my girlfriends were unwelcome. It put a bad taste in my mouth about all of Woodstock for years thinking maybe the locals are just rude to tourists. Then recently I revisited. This time with my daughter and the same woman was there and again not sweet or pleasant or welcoming. She didn't greet us nor was she nice. Both times she was putting off a very snotty vibe. It made me not want to purchase any of the neat toys that my daughter would have loved. And when I overheard her talking to another woman who popped in asking about a specific toy and she was super rude to her I was out of there. In a town that thrives on tourists to feed money into small businesses you think the people working in the shops would be a little nicer. The people who work here hate kids and are very rude. They are always frowning and the atmosphere is super uncomfortable and the toys are overpriced you can find them cheaper anywhere else. They are probably so overpriced because no one shops there. I went with my friend's child who has a social anxiety disorder and were looking for gift. They didn't have it when I asked they said I don't know. Then when we went to look at other things, the person who was at the shop was very nasty when asked to clarify the price of an object. She abruptly told me to check the box and when I told her "I did" she glared and said too bad. We had to meet someone so we left. When we returned an hour later the same clerk was there and I asked her if I could have something that was on a display that was very high. She said she couldn't do it. I asked if she was sure and then she reluctantly did it. Then she turned around and accused a disabled child of stealing she was so mean that she sent the child running out of the store crying. When the child left dropping the gift I was going to get her I picked it up and gave it back to the clerk. The woman had the audacity to say that if you come back I'm calling the police. I'm so shocked that she would be so cruel and am completely disgusted that a full grown woman would harass a child like that. I would never go back to that store and urge you not to as well read more

You can't go to Woodstock and not drop by this place-- crazy fun toys, stuff that you normally don't see often.
