The best experience so far on my trip in the Philippines. If you are looking for places to go or…read moreexperience in the Philippines, this would be just one of them. The waters come from the national falls of the Philippines. It's about two hours from Manila due to the traffic but still a good experience. Just a warning, there will be tons of people diverting you to go to their Pagsanjan Falls tour ride up the mountain but I would say go to La Vista Pagsanjan Resort instead for their tours. Just to let you experience what happened to us. We were recommended by the restaurant to go to La Vista and they gave direction but we got lost. When you ask for directions around and word gets out on the street you are looking for the Pagsanjan Falls tour, they will follow you and knock on your window to go to their location instead. The people can be pushy so don't give in. When we couldn't find the location, we followed this guide on a motorcycle but make sure to lock your doors since this is 'unfamiliar waters' here. On the same path we found La Vista. The guy on the motorcycle was upset that we didn't go to their location as I am sure they get a cut. There was a lot of us going. The tour was great. Good for kids and senior citizens or ones who cannot swim as you will not fall in the water. You will get wet so wear wet gear and bring extra clothes. You are provided a life jacket and hard hat. The two guides on the boat gave great information about the places when we asked but of course, we asked in Tagalog to make it easier for them to communicate. You will go through 16 rapids up the mountain. Up, you say?! This is fresh water from the mountain and not salty at all. The water was merky but it rained the day before. Usually, they say the water is clear. You will be pulled by a loud motor boat until it gets shallow. The two guides will tell you to continue to wear the hard hat to pass the check point. After, you can take if off. I felt bad for the guides as the rapids were strong and we were not light...hahahaha. We used the hard hats again when we went underneath the falls. You will go on a bamboo raft with two guides. There is a large rope that the guides use to pull them to the falls. It was strong but they didn't actually put us in the middle of the falls, only the side and that was strong already!! The falls was stronger when we went due to the rain. I could barely see behind the falls. No wonder, you need the hard hats!! I would recommend to bring another hat or vizier to wear underneath the hard hat so your eyes have cover from the splashing water. I wish I could have taken pictures inside as well but I forgot my underwater phone bag. They let you come off the raft to swim behind the falls. It was actually cool water but refreshing from the warm humid weather in the Philippines. I know people don't like to tip these tours or don't know you should but I would as if you see the hard work they do for us to go up the mountain. What is $5 (@ 250 php) or give what you think. They have to spilt this tip among the two guides...People here don't make much money. They get a cut with the business but it may not be much from them...no pressure. I am just giving my opinion. Make sure to bring your waterproof camera or phone bag so that you can take images. It's very beautiful there. You are surrounded by tropical plants and high mountains. We got lucky as when we left our tour, it started to lightly rain again! =} Recommended!!

Tablets and other gadgets are being freely given to these kids and in turn, they become perfectly content with staying in their rooms all day. Our outdoor culture is already diminishing and what better way to bring it back than to take children to the farm? Holding baby pigs, fishing, riding carabaos, feeding rabbits- these are just some of the things that your kids can experience at the Sta. Elena Fun Farm. I see this place as a quick retreat from the city, a breather from the traffic, buildings and all the asphalt that has enveloped Manila. It doesn't take so long to get there and once you reach the place, you'll fall in love with it. Tips: 1. Take the kids here on a weekend complete with a picnic basket. 2. Entrance is P300 for kids and adults. Any kid below 2 years old is free. 3. Lolos and lolas get discounts too!

There's lots of opportunities to interact with animals here: feeding rabbits and hamsters, catching fish, meeting friendly carabaos and pot-beliied pigs, and riding proper sized horses (not like those tiny ponies in Tagaytay). My favorite thing to do here is to climb up a wall as fast as possible (I time each new attempt), scramble back down the other side of the tower on sloping tree trunks, then try out the hurdles. Then when I'm properly exhausted, I relax on a tire swing and watch ducklings waddle past. Points for all the obstacles being constructed from materials sourced right on the property. Outdoor markets are occasionally held here, which are a great place to pick up organic greens and local crafts. Throw in performances from OPM artists when the sun goes down and even a samba troupe, and you get a great summer party. This little pocket of green trees and fresh air is only 40 minutes away from Metro Manila, making it the perfect escape for those who are sick of the concrete jungle and want to stretch their limbs and clear their heads.

Grown up kids all excited to get suited up, it was the dorkiest I've felt in a long time. They said we only had 30 minutes inside and I felt a bit bad for paying so much money for just half and hour but when you're running in the dark with a laser gun strapped to your chest, it does get pretty tiring. So the end goal is to get as many hits to your opponent's target without getting hit yourself. Each vest is equipped with a sensor that you should aim at, when you're hit, your gun temporarily shuts down and you'd have to wait until it's turned on again. I was a girly girl growing up so you can imagine the struggle I had aiming at boys running at lighting speed. But it's all good fun and even if I finished last on several occasions, yes we've been here more than once, it's a great place to blow off steam and burn off a few calories.

There are only a few things that can top the joy of shooting a friend for recreation. And there is…read moreno risk of you having to go to jail. This place gives you the opportunity to release stress, have fun and exercise at the same time. I got to experience Lazer Maxx with some officemates for a team building activity and it's been a very memorable experience. You will be divided into two teams and you each have a gun or what they call phasors. You will also wear a vest with sensors on it that your opponents will try to hit with their lazer and different points are given based on the location of the target that you hit. Sorry but no headshots here. They assign you a cool code name like Achilles or Perseus so you can keep track of your own score. Once everyone is ready then they release you in their arena. And then all hell breaks loose. I mean, you are in this dark arena with guys shooting lazers at you and you're trying to shoot back and you're trying to take cover while a comrade is asking for cover. The game is so frantic that the fifteen minute game play seemed like an hour for me. I exited the arena sweating and panting like I just ran a marathon. So yes, bring an extra shirt if you can. There are some things that I find interesting in this experience. For one, this is a game of wits. There are holes in hiding places that you can exploit to gain advantage over your opponent. It's fun to just go crazy and shoot at everything that moves but you'll just end up getting shot more by the other team. Strategies are needed. Plan the position of your team and make sure that someone covers your back at all times. On a side note, the game brings out hidden personalities and you get to see peolple for who they really are.The cute, prim and proper girl in the office is suddenly shooting wildly like a homicidal maniac who just drank a gallon of Red Bull. You also get a glimpse of who has a hidden angst against the boss, the one who has his target on your manager at the onset of the game. Or the one who keeps on "accidentally" hitting you even though you're on the same team. This is one of the most fun experience I've had. Your calves will be aching afterwards along with other muscles you didn't even know existed but it will definitely be worth it.
