At a mere 3-4 hours away from Metro Manila, Real, Quezon is a great spot for some remote rest and relaxation. The resorts are usually uncrowded, and offer camping, surfing, river rafting, and some other fun activities. Last time I went there my family and I took a quick trek to a local waterfall named Balagbag, and chilled at a resort while my brothers and I took turns learning how to surf. The beach isn't made for easygoing swimming most of the time, with its cold temperatures and sometimes rough winds, even in the middle of summer. My mom prepared some food to eat once we boys finished our lessons, but next time I think I'll suggest a trip to the local market so we can grill up some fresh seafood and vegetables.
